    This spacer technology is from 1980. The most expensive bow on the market, and this is what their engineers came up with? Great video thank you. I will not be buying a Hoyt. Bowtech seems to have the engineering on their wheel lean adjustment spot on. Bowtech has earned my money. Thank you again for your knowledge

      Nothing wrong with it imo. It’s simple and cheap and reliable. You only need to mess with this once and then forget it unless you get new strings. And I don’t even own a Hoyt.

      If it’s not broken, why fix it.

    • @NMBowhntr
      @NMBowhntr 8 месяцев назад +1

      Well, for a lot of us, it IS broken. My RX-7 has been a nightmare. And ANY little change and it’s out of tune again. And ask a bow shop tech how much they like paper tuning a Hoyt compared to all the others, especially BowTech. So yeah, paper tuning to a bullet hole is mandatory for accuracy, and compared to what else is on the market, Hoyt is in last place. That said, everything else on their bows is in first place in my opinion, or right up there. So the simplicity of tuning the cam lean has always been their Achilles heel. Fix it, and they could dominate. I think this ingenious little kit could go a long way to fix it. I’ll be bringing it up with Hoyt, and I hope the inventor does, too.

    Asking the local pro shop to move cams, or do any sort of tuning, is like asking someone to move a mountain.
    Being able to do this at home is a huge bonus.

    Not a fan of their shim system, but your technique of changing the shims is money! That little fiber washer under the eclip is very delicate! I never thought about leaving it off until final tuning is complete! Would love to buy a few of those to have as spares. 😉

      Same. My shop moved my rest so far towards the riser that whale tale was rubbing against the riser and was still getting weird tears (for obvious reasons). I got pretty frustrated at that and just bought one of those dumb bike repair mounts and a cable press lol maybe for Christmas I can get a real press

I have read / watched a lot of people complaining about not being able to swap limbs / relax the limbs of a hoyt HBX cam with the LCA press. can you do a video on how you do / would do a limb swap, or do you need their new limb holders?

    I have a ventum 33 and couldn't get a perfect hole in paper with Hoyts shims. I purchased the cam shim kit from Lancaster Archery, a little pricey, but I was able to get a perfect bare shaft hole. I'm a little anal about my setup.

    I need some help. Alot of help. Do Bear bows have a shim system like this? I've adjusted the yokes as much as I can without the cam actually touching the yoke and the cams are still not even close to being square (In line) with each other. If they don't have shims, is there something else I can do to get them to line up? Besides buying a new bow.

    Why shim the cams and make your string crooked vs just adjusting the rest?

    • @NMBowhntr
      @NMBowhntr 8 месяцев назад

      Because some cams aren’t aligned from the factory,and it’s difficult to broadhead tune and shoot long range accurately when the cams don’t point at each other at full draw. Moving the rest is a bandaid. If the key measurements on the bow are square, 13/16” and all that, your bow will be a shooter!
