I literally just bought this blind as im using a go pro on my mororbike helmet and its rubbish constantly running out of battery or bugging out and what gets me the most is the quick app is a nightmare it never wants to connect to let you see your footage, I alrady have an insta 360 and its brilliant I use it on my handle bars and the software is so much better than go pro hence my reasoning behind buying this camera im glad I saw your video I feel now ive made the right choice, looking forward to getting it now
@@CB-dy2pc heck ya! You definitely made the right choice! I had the same issues with GoPro and that’s what made me switch as well. Weird glitches, random timapse shots instead of video, battery life was a nightmare and that app was just trash. No way around it the GoPro app was trash. I’ve ran a lot of the insta360 cameras at this point and never been frustrated like I could be with GoPro and I love their app functionality so much. It’s MILES ahead. I do all my editing on my phone now vs of because it’s so easy and smooth. You definitely made the right call 😁👍🏼
Yep just a standard helmet mount. No extensions. You can see it in the thumbnail sort of. I just had it right at the brim over the helmet so it was low and ran the camera almost flat. One 360 lens pointing almost straight down and the other up if that makes sense. Then I’d just barely tilt it a tiny bit up. Worked perfect for me all season😁
Well dang they changed it on me. They must have just recently. Thats still not bad. The fast charging is awesome. 80% battery in like 20 minutes. Sorry it’s not the spare battery anymore though 😞
100%! These have been my cameras of choice for almost 3 years now and easily the best action cameras that I’ve ever used. Today is actually the last day of their winter sale and I’m not sure when the next sale will be. store.insta360.com/winter-sale?INRKCEM
I’ve seen people use the dive case, but I always just ran the lens protectors. But the dive case would be easier off/on. I really like the bullet time cord, the action selfie stick (it’s carbon fiber), the extended selfie stick, and just the general helmet mount are my most used
Hey great video and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm considering buying the camera. But I saw some reviews on amazon and some people tell they had issues to connect the cam with pc or smartphone. Even the sd card is'nt always readeable. Did you encounter this issue? Greetings from Germany
Thanks for checking it out! I’ve never had that issue but I mostly do it from my phone but it’s never not connected. Then when plugging it to a pc it’s a bit weird you have to turn it on a certain mode in the settings to get it to connect/export but it’s fairly simple. All the insta360 cameras are that way. Once you’ve done it one time it’s easy to do. Then as far as the sd card the only time I had trouble was with one of the Sony sd cards and I no longer use them for that reason(I had one go bad essentially and lost all the footage) but just using the SAN disk extremes I’ve never had an issue 😁
Nope. The entire camera is waterproof. You only need a case if you’re doing deep scuba diving. Just make sure all the doors are properly closed and you’re good to go😁
Used an X3 last season, loved it also ran it on the helmet snowbaording which got some awesome stabilized POV but its huge and sticks out like a massive horn. Been thinking about the ONE RS vs Ace Pro for POV. I feel that the 360 adds alot more stabilized and wider range footage compared to a single lens helmet POV from watching a bunch of snowboard vids. Do you still recommend the ONE RS Twin til this day? And do you think there will be an updated version this year?
Nice! Ya I ran my x3 quite a bit on the helmet this past season as well. It’s definitely like having a unicorn horn😂but I did find a mount that keeps it stable and from moving. Before looking at another camera you may want to check one of these out : amzn.to/47uHS8O depending on how much you wanted to spend. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve talked to a few people running them and they love it and say it’s way better since it’s not sticking out nearly as far. Now if you do want the second camera(I like running 2 as well just for the ease of capturing it all) I love love LOVE the ace pro but as for helmet POV I did get some great shots with it this season but I do prefer the super wide FOV and stability the 360 cameras bring for helmet cams. This next season I’m going to try it with the mouth mount just because up on the helmet you have to get it just right or the shots not quite wide enough to get that perfect POV. Which is why I love the super wide 360 shot. I do like how the one rs and ace pro mount to the helmet, it’s much more comfortable and doesn’t stick out/bob as much. I think the one rs is still a fantastic camera and the image quality it gives is still great shot and is still comparable with the X3 I do think now with the x4 there will be a difference in image quality so I’m hoping we get an updated version this season. Why Isn't Anyone Using the Insta360 Ace Pro? Long Term Review ruclips.net/video/XhMv9hqPg70/видео.html Here’s a link to my Ace pro review so you can see some of the helmet POVS. My plan for this season is swap back and forth. One day with the Ace pro in the mouth mount and x4 on the selfie stick, then the next day do the x4 on the helmet, and Ace pro on the selfie stick because it does get some insanely high quality shots. If I were you if you only want it for a head cam the one rs or another 360 cam would be the way to go, HOWEVER, if you want to swap around like I’m going to do, definitely pick up an Ace pro because running both the X3 and the Ace pro gives you insane 360 footage but the Ace pro will give you the ultra high quality 4k footage that can’t be matched. It really is a dream camera combo 🥶🤙🏻
I'm in this exact same situation right now. The 360 does stick out too much, so I'm debating if to buy this one. It's smaller than the Gopro 360. I have been using Gopro hero 8 and 9 the last few years, but want a 360 option. So this one is on the table. Did you end up buying it? If so, what are your thoughts?
@ I did recently pick up the horizontal vertical mount for the X3 and X4 and it does make it way better as a helmet camera. I used it mountain biking and it was awesome.
@@BoardsBikesAndHikes Thanks, but I already have all the gorpo accessories and mounts. So with the RS I don't need to get any new accessories. Just the waterproof case.
No special settings on this, or any of the insta360 cameras for that matter. Their battery life is REALLY REALLY good. I should’ve clarified a bit on this but 8-1 but only filming occasionally on the chairlift and then snowboarding I recorded every single run down top to bottom. The camera I would turn off or at least not be recording in line. Still and insanely impressive battery life, just not straight continuous recording. Especially impressive compared to like a GoPro where I would burn through a battery in one run or sometimes never even get to record in temperatures that cold. Same thing was true for this camera in the summer, pretty much a whole day of mountain biking at a bike park on one battery as well, and again only pausing the recording in line or on the lift😁
I use the same camera as well. My battery life is really bad… most of my bike rides are at least a hour long. My 360 lens gives me about 25 minutes tops! I do love the camera but I am also looking for more battery life. Great vid though!👍🏻
The biggest problem is the lack of coverage for the 4k boost lens. If I used it on a motorbike, I would have to buy back €150 worth of lens every two rides. Plus the audio recording is terrible.
I can see that depending on what you’re doing. I used these little glass lens protectors and they always did ok when I was MTB but I guess it just depends what you’re doing. amzn.to/3QWIqgL Then for audio I haven’t used them with this camera but I have recently started sticking these on to my cameras to improve the wind noise and they’ve helped a ton amzn.to/4bTurAd I always thought in the case on this camera where it does have sort of a built in wind cover it did just as solid as any other action camera. But I bet doubling up with one of these would really help.
It was these bibs. Thanks for pointing it out. I have them linked, but they must be sold out in that color way, but I found them on Amazon. amzn.to/3tGEYOL
Unfortunately no. I absolutely loved the camera but sold it to a buddy to upgrade to the x4. I hope they eventually make a new version of it though because I loved the shape of it. If I wasn’t in the RUclips/content creation space trying to keep up with the “best” I 100 would still be rocking it
Nah that’s just the way the shadow distorted the image. I didn’t have the lens protectors for my x3 so I didn’t like onewheeling with it. I only did it once or twice and that wasn’t from those days.
Hey buddy how are you!? Hey wanted to ask for 2 question about the insta360 one rs! I just got me one and it's still in the box sealed but I was having second doubt about the camera because people telling me to go to the 360 ace Pro but I always wanted a 360 camera because the camera is going to be used on my helmet when I drive my scooter when I drive around Amstrerdam and so I can see the front and back and to use it for security so if I get into accident I have video from front and back of me. So my first questions was do I need a dive case for the camera when it's raining out in the street because like I said I'm going to have it on my helmet so do I need to have a dive case for it when it starts raining or is the mounting bracket going to protect it???? And my second question was do you need the insta360 app to use the camera because I've heard that the insta360 R you need to download the app to record and everything else. So I didn't want to do all this to record or just to use the action cam so If I do need to download a app to use the insta360 one rs I'm just going to return this one and go for the Ace pro because that you do not need it, you just turn it on and start filming just like the GoPro! So If you can help me with these 2 questions for me it would be amazing thank you so much and keep up the great videos buddy!!!!
Yes absolutely! So if you’re wanting a 360 definitely keep it. I love my Ace pro but the Ace pro is not 360, just a standard 4k action camera so you would miss out on the 360 aspect. As for the dive case, no you don’t need it. It’s waterproof up to 5meters deep as long as it’s in the mounting cage that comes with it(which it would have to be for you to mount it to your helmet) I’ve used it kayaking, snowboarding, paddleboarding, just swimming at the beach. I’ve never had trouble. Then as for the app you don’t have to use the app to film with it. You just turn the camera on and go like any other action camera. You only have to use the app when it comes to editing the 360 footage, which is true for all the 360 cameras, you’ll export all Your files though the Insta360 software. But as for filming nope just like a GoPro, turn it on and shoot, no connections to the app to start 😁🤙🏻
