Have owned 2qty 1987 Super Magnas. I fell in love with the original styling. It's the only bike for me. Just got in from a ride in fact. Unbelievable the performance I get from this 87 Honda VF700. And the people that comment on this bike... they all cant believe it's a 1987. Super fun and fast bike. It has a presence about it that makes it a classic legend.
Nice! Pretty much same as me I just love the look :) I can't say it's the only bike for me I like having a selection :D Absolutely though, every time I go out on this bike and feel just how good it is on the road I have to remind myself it's older than I am. Crazy. It does indeed, I love how many people are passionate about it too, I hope it stays alive as a useable, visible classic for years to come :)
I think I'm on it! :) I don't really use Facebook much to be honest it's enough keeping up with this and Instagram. I must have another look thought thanks :)
Still can't believe it's 1987... You've done a great job with it though man, it's great to see. I know there's plenty of bikes like that which are left to rot in a garage as people don't have the time or the patience to keep them running or rebuild them. I hope to see this passed down the generations like you said in a previous video haha :) That place is pretty as hell, can't lie.
When are you going to do an auld bike swap eh? If love to see what you think :) Thanks bud :) I absolutely love the thing. Ah it's a time and cost thing for a lot of people and an interest....I completely understand why some people would give it. It took me six months to find all the stuff I need and save for it :) Haha I'll have to adopt a child so the day before I expire I don't want one otherwise 😂😂😂😂 You'll have to spin out :)
Bike is sounding great Brother, and nice upgrades that you have added,it seems that there is no end in upgrading a bike to the way that you want it LoL, enjoyed the scenery as well brother, ride safe and ride easy 👍🏼💯
The first thing I noticed was you had Clive her a clean!,,😂😂😂. What a lovely spot to film, there are so many of these scenic places...thanks for finding them and showing us. BUT typical Irish road surfaces!!! Keep it up bro.
Just a quick wash 😂 My buddy is mad into detailing and he's itching to get at it :) It was a really beautiful little village. I was chatting to a local and she said people haven't a clue it's there! It's mad! Not at all :) yeah the road was absolutely dreadful 😂
Completely random find! Just a little bit :P it's getting to where I want it now :) it's a really pretty spot to be fair! Just got your stickers and letter and magnet in the post thanks man :) keep tuned for a shout-out 😁
I just subscribed. I have an '87 Super as well and have had it 3 years now. I gotta say man, its nice to see yours in good condition as well. Wish i could show you pictures of mine. Anyway, I like the upholstery yours has, where did you get that seat? or was it a custom upholstery job?
Ah thanks and welcome! I actually plan to strip mine down over winter and re powder coat the frame and stuff to bring it back to really decent spec. Send them on Instagram, facebook or twitter I'm on all of those :) It was a reupholster of the original seat by a guy here in Ireland. The previous owner got it done, it's a really good job!
I've wanted a Super since they first came out but my spouse was not supportive. Your videos caused me to raise the issue recently with her again and she's changed, God bless her. I'm looking at a red '87 tomorrow: 30,000 miles, all new carbs, upgraded suspension all around, upgraded seat, backrest and rack, well cared for; I'm excited to say the least! An easy question for you: are those aftermarket exhaust pipes on your bike, the internal pipes don't protrude on the bikes I see in the US?
Oh that's brilliant news! :) Did you get it? That's very exciting in fairness :P I honestly don't know they're stamped Honda but I've never seen them elsewhere....the bike is imported from Japan so unless they were some factory option then, or maybe someone welded the caps on
Nice upgrades, so far. Now you need a sissy bar! :) No, but I grew to not like wearing a backpack while riding, so every bike I see now looks like it needs saddle bags, or top case, or sissy bar, or all three :)
So far indeed :P I agree and it's something I'm working on! I really don't like using a backpack at all to be honest completely changes how you have to ride!
She is a bloody good looking bike. I really like the seat. It’s a great feeling when you love your bike like that. That really was a terrible road surface lol. We’ve got a few of them round here too. I sometimes wonder what’s the point in road tax when you still end up riding on something akin to the surface of the moon! I agree that you chose a very beautiful spot for the walk around. One question though. If you do respray her, will you keep that lovely blue? Ride Safe Brother 🙏🏻
Thanks amigo :) I like how the seat looks but I need to sort the foam! It is indeed :) haha it was bad alright 😂 ah sure it's not "road tax" here anymore so they don't have to explain that...clowns. I just stumbled across it, I'd never been there before :) I'll probably keep it, or change it to a dusky orange with black fleck...not sure really :) You too :)
Great video and like what u done with the Magna, any tips with editing videos as I invested in a Sena prism camera, happy with what I’m capturing but having lot of issues with editing ☹️
Thanks :) Honestly not a whole pile, I'm very basic editing wise. But if you just Google what you're trying to do most of the popular videos on RUclips are great. That's how I learned. The only advice I'd give is pick your editor and stick. Da Vinci resolve is good for free and if you have money premiere pro is also excellent :)

Your supermagna is the only one of those bikes I've ever seen. I'm guessing quite rare?? Watching you ride it there is not actually that much space between your knees and hands, could you ride long distance in comfort?
They're as rare as Bryan said(thanks Bryan) which translates to being essentially non existent in Ireland and the UK really. There's a few around but not many that'd be ridden a lot. I'm developing a set of custom highway pegs for that reason 😂 I did a review on it and it didn't score great for comfort 😂
Hey. I have a question. Do you know if you can adjust the clutch on the super Magna. Our clutch engages just before the handle is released. Please excuse my English. I am from Denmark.
Your English is just fine :) So to answer your question - yes it can with push pin changes etc however I don't think that's your issue. The clutch line itself should be changed every 5 years or so and bled with the fluid replaced every 3 years, it sounds to me like you need new fluid at a minimum - I would also recommend changing the clutch line itself with a steel braided line. That's what I did, I have a video of it here: ruclips.net/video/PnwvF-5UIfA/видео.html

As shitty as you talk about Ireland sometimes, it does at least afford you these lovely places of scenery 🤪 I have to admit, I'm not a fan of solid wheels, so if I had to suggest a what to do next, it would be to get some sort of mag wheel on the back similar to the front.
Oh 100% ....
