Just bought myself a 1998 Honda Magna 750, love it, has an after market exhaust that gives it a very deep throaty sound, love this video, reminds me how bad I want to get out and ride, thanks for posting this video.
@@TheGorillaBiker absence makes the heart grow fonder if thats possible in this case. Is she tucked away because you are away or for coming winter. I live in Canada these days and we had frost warnings last week
I followed what a couple other owners in the SMOG (super magna owners group) had done and I drilled 6 holes in the rear tailpiece (we will call it) of each exhaust. I believe that they were a 1/4 to 3/8 dia. hole just an equal Distance away from center exhaust hole and sidewall of pipe. It got slightly louder, but had a very district sound to it, so much so that I can't think of an example to describe it. I owned the same blue 87 from around 98 to 05 maybe? I broke the shifter linkage rod or the connection to it (don't remember exactly) and learned that I couldn't just run to my local shop and grab one because they are unique to that bike there just isn't any demand to justify making them for Honda That was my first e-bay purchase, and the only one I could find anywhere at the time. I had my 8/10-year-old son on back with me at the time it broke........ In 3rd gear thank God, I had stop signs and 50mph roads home for 30 min or so. I have had several bikes over 35 years of riding, and no other bike turned the heads of passer Byers when parked in public. People= We have seen super cool sport bikes and choppers with candied sparkly paint that looks 12 inches deep but hang on! what the heck is this? That quad upswept exhaust is what gets em.
@@TheGorillaBiker Any idea on prices for Super Magnas here in Ireland ? I know will depend on condition etc. But would they be about the 2,000 to 4,000 area ? Or more ?
Extraño mucho el mío, necesito traerlo aquí a Estados Unidos cuando sepa que puedo quedarme. No creo que haya un moto como esta en ningún lado :) Me encantaría visitar Argentina en moto algún día, ¡que tengas un buen día!
That's them clean and all ya know :/ Not great condition around here really which is a pity. This bike handles beautifully since I did all the suspension upgrades
Tis a lovely spot! I do believe the internals of the original exhaust have been removed, but I havent inspected it fully, after hearing a stock one recently it'd definitely a lot louder :)
It depends on your region so I couldn't say for certain. I found the service manual for free online, no idea where I have it now, but if you search for it it has all those specs in there by region.
@@TheGorillaBiker I'd like to see what the ride position look like on it. I wonder if he solved the sore tail bone problem. Like the matt black paintwork on the engine especially. What had he done to get the exhausts so load? What has he done to make it start so rapidly? Do you know?
those old v4's did sound nice.i keep stock pipes on my 700 magna.the noise gets old when you dont want to hear it anymore.besides if you dont rejet the carbs, they run worse with reduced backpressure than stock.they do respond very well to slightly richer jetting.but its a pain in the ass to do it & get everything tuned to perfection due to the carb location in the V of the engine.
I like louder exhausts, I've never tired of this one, there is definitely a "too loud" volume but this is not it. I never minded the carbs, a pain to get out of there but you don't need to do it very often!
@@TheGorillaBikerpart of me is just getting to old to enjoy riding anymore.at my age.the recovery time of an unnecessary crash is too significant to my remaining days alive.but it was a TON of fun from 2007 to 2017.i kept it up & running.probably sell it next year due to slower reflexes at 60 years of age.it still pulls hard to 10500.but im RARELY there.
Only I'm America for a while due to import tariffs. I did a video called the History of the Honda Magna and it's explained there. The displacement for the rest of the world was unaffected.
I couldn't answer that 100% as I wasn't a new rider when I got mine! But I would imagine fine, it's low to the ground, decent brakes, pretty comfy etc. I did a full review on the bike too which might contain more information if you have any interest. ruclips.net/video/WB4Io6vLScY/видео.html I don't think a beginner would have much trouble as long as they weren't a super small person or a lunatic, it is a powerful bike so you could easily get yourself in to trouble.

Ah nice!! The gen 03s sound great with a nice aftermarket exhaust :) Thanks glad you liked it :) Not at all!! Thanks for watching :)
Thats a brutal sound man 😍
Also if the roads around here was in that condition I would put some knobbies on that beast 😆
It's some noise in fairness I love it :)
Hahaha they're not even the bad ones.
Sound gives me goose bumps.

That’s an awesome tune to some fine riding. I have the 2002 VF750C and love it.

No I moved from Ireland to the US!! My poor bikes never got put away for winter. I'm cruel.
It sounds like the 80s and that speedo view looks like an 80s video game on the Atari or something. Class
I'm very glad some people like that angle I reaaaallly like it and definitely want to use it again :)

Praise BigSteve for he speaks only the word of V4
Lmfao it was a reference to a show called The Mandalorian. The sound of a v4 is so very intoxicating
Haha season 1 yeah? Im absolutely loving Mandalorian. The one episode a week thing is upsetting 😂
F**kin hell, that sounds deadly. Right that's it, getting a Super Magna :)

Man your bike sounds awesome can’t wait to get one of these but I got to finish my Honda Nighthawk CB 700 S first
They're a bloody amazing engine!! I hope you can get your hands on one!
Love the note, felt like I was there with you!
I see a Magna in your future :P They'd look amazing with some pie cut exhausts :) Gracias I'm really happy with how this turned out !
The GorillaBiker there’s some amount of dirt on those roads! But you powered through 👍👍

A great sounding bike
It really really is, plus the backroads let it sing way more :)
That sounds amazing. Love these bikes. I have a Harley dyna 1450 at the moment, but an extra bike won't hurt, right? 😁
1 bike is never enough imo so definitely wouldn't hurt 😂
Really love the sound. Btw, is your odo broken? Cause it's dialing so fast. I was about to be impressed with the 200k+ total distance travelled
Me too :)
Nope. The white bit is .1 of a km. So there's about 23000km on it i think. Barely used! I only bought it about 1.5 years ago.
@@TheGorillaBiker good job of keeping it in mint condition. It's a really old bike.
Oh it's not in any way mint! Still needs a lot of work, I've done a lot to it in the time I've had it tho. 33 years or so old, older than me 😂
Sounds amazing 😍
I absolutely love how it sounds 😁😁
