Still the song of the decade for me. Almost ten years later, this still encapsulates all the emotions and desires of this time well. Birds of Tokyo are also one of the best true rock bands of the decade. The Aussie music scene killed it during the 2010's!
Tu ais raison, mon ami: I'm from Sweden, and I'd love to have these guys (and the rest crazies of Karnivool) around my coffee table. Mi casa es su casa. Anytime, boys (Scandinavian girls are almost as the ones at Bondi, hachh). Be my guest. If 12 Ft Ninja happen to knock knock - force them into the same flight! Nough said. Cheers from Gothenburg!
I heard this song for the first time whilst driving home after a terrible day at work, and I was lost for breath.. All I could think of was how beautiful the song was, how unimportant my crappy day was, and how this song will be touching the broken hearts of people with bigger worries than my own.. Brilliant!
I wish I was. You Aussies (and the Kiwi's, mind) know how to stand your ground. Here in 'snowflake Sweden there's a sure and sad slippery slope down to Hades thanks to our so called politicians. Keep it up, mates! Never forgive, never surrender. Cheers from Gothenburg!

I just met you I can read your thoughts What they tell me is what I want I'll keep you guessing keep you wanting more 'Cos where we're going no one knows You know this don't feel right Who knows this could feel right I just met you, I swear I read your thoughts So don't forget me or what you want Light up the stage, make your move, give me something So I can dance in your light and to your rhythm Soon it unfolds who we are in this masquerade of stars Tear off the mask, the face you hide is what I'm missing We made plans to kiss the sun at night Hopeless dreamers, hopeless types One was turning, one was standing still I won't forget what was promised here You know this don't feel right Who knows what we feel?"
This song is reeeeeeeeeally special to me... it was released on my birthday, and it used to be *our song* with my first love... I've spent my happiest and crappiest moments listening to it. Love B of T, keep on guys!! :)
What a band! This is where my poetry takes me............ I need curly hair and a rock band. We made plans with lanterns on.................................
3:07 "i wont forget what was promised here" imagine the first explorers returning to their home countries to report what was found in the new world, imagine their ships sailing off and the explorers just looking back at what was found, high mountains, thick jungle, beautiful nature, and just saying to themselves "I hope I can return here again".
listening to this again in January 2016 and i'm just reflecting on the years that have been. this song was my intro to birds of tokyo. but the person who first played it for me was my older sister's ex who she was with since high school. so i struggle to listen to it now a bit.
i found some great australian artist in my teenage years and this is one of them. I think that australian artist also makes good songs ya know! Big love from ur neighbour, Indonesia :)
light up the stage make your move give me something so i can dance in your light and to your rhythm,. Soon it unfolds who we are in this masquerade of stars, tear of the mask the face you hide is what Im missing .... GOLD!
This just reminds me off Australia so much, Sydney Nov 2010 with two of my oldest and best friends who I sadly don't see enough of these days. But this record will always make me think of the pair of them.
Some of Australia's best bands come from Perth and W.A. in general. Birds of Tokyo are not one of them.!!!! Words to describe Birds of Tokyo are extremely derogatory and expletive.
I haven't been that interested in Auzzie music for a while due to the lack of. . . . . well talent, diversity, TALENT, Its all the same nonsense over again. But this song has hit me like real music should. Now i will make sure i will keep an open mind and ear so i wont miss these guys again. Very awesome way to represent AUS.
Honestly, I don't know how he does it. Karnivool and BoT are both so active right now! I swear, right as one band stops touring for a moment, he goes out with the other. Does he ever take time to catch his breath?! I certainly appreciate his hard work though. Absolutely love Vool and BoT.
Ah another great example of awesome music out of Australia. I'm from the UK and I really love these guys, Dead Letter Circus and Karnivool especially. Loved Mammal too before they split up

Right on brother
Good song, but you definitely need to expand your horizons.
@@GregoryCunningham who are you to tell someone how to feel or relate to music? Do you and let others do for themselves without judgement.
@@yeah_shars Nothing wrong with expanding your knowledge. You might try it.
Wow only 2 million views after all these years smh criminally underrated
All of our Australian songs are underrated by the world, to be honest.
