Hello Friends! Today, we're recreating the insanely viral Porcelain Doll Skin created by the iconic makeup artist Pat McGrath for the Maison Margiela Spring-Summer 2024 Haute Couture show! This makeup and porcelain doll technique has rocked the beauty world for good reason! We'll take you step by step as we create our own looks inspired by McGrath's genius work!

That r. e. m. foundation shade is my normal everyday foundation. I am indeed that pale and forever grateful that a brand has a shade that light without heavy yellow or pink undertones.

I am someone who used to use manic panic clown white for a foundation. I love that we have multiple options that aren't called that. I do wish the brand that is compatible with my skin made a paler concealer but this may not be possible.
Clinique makes a really good fair foundation. It’s called Flax. Give it a try!

I use Haus labs’s foundation, and their lightest concealer is like 2 shades darker than my foundation. …admittedly, I’m also using 00 Might As Well Be Wall Paint White as my foundation. 😂 I don’t know how you make something lighter than that… I’d like a light/medium coverage foundation, tho, and the r.e.m. shade range looks promising - and I’ve heard it’s more like a tint?

The Pat Mc Grath team and her did a RUclips video on how they did the entire makeup for the show…it was long but worth watching every single minute. It was 3 mask mixed together.
I dont want porcelain skin but cant wait to see the ingredient list for the product she's dropping. But love seeing people try to crack how they did it for the show! That was an amazing moment in beauty history, and a reminder that Pat is still the 👑

The funny thing is, I saw people (edited for clarity: makeup RUclips and Instagram) discussing just last month whether PMG was boring now, sooo overhyped since she revealed she worked with Taylor Swift, a one shot pony, etc etc, and I was just like “…and let’s set our watches for fashion week, when Mother does something never before seen and slays them all…” And yep. Like clockwork, the jaded remember why she’s the GOAT - and a bunch of new people get to fall under her spell.

My friend is a fashion designer who has worked as milliner in the entertainment industry (including designing the hats for Self Made starring Octavia Spencer) - I really appreciate this! Plus, I lover of this aesthetic! The inspirations of Rococo! Or Victorian. Or Elizabethan.
I am not joking or being hyperbolic- but I would wear this look everyday if it was socially acceptable for daily wear, if I have the attire/wealth to accompany the looks and if I had the time.

God. Mother is just… astonishing. Y’all did a great job recreating the looks, too!
