    I saw prime Jordan in person and since I was a Lakers fan I despised him because I thought it was so unfair for a player to be as athletic and fundamentally sound as him. He had it all - bounce, hangtime, mid-air control, body contortion, footwork, creativity, artistry, assassin cerebral, etc. He annihilated defenders in a time when you could actually defend on perimeter and when there were still great rim protectors. It would be extremely unfair if he played in this fragile league. And that's no hyperbole! The guy was maniacally competitive. Like no one in this era. He'd average 45 ppg and a whole lot of defenders would be on load management when Black Jesus came to their town.

Just another reason he is on a level by himself. Think about it,dude puts up dwades career numbers at 38/39/40 years old, but it gets labeled bad because of what people were used to seeing from him in Chicago...That’s how far the distance was between wash MJ and Chicago MJ...Shits just ridiculous

Jordan would score at will today. He wouldn’t need to shoot a single 3 to drop 45 every night, and if anyone thinks he couldn’t become at least an average 3 pt shooter if he decided to make it part of his game, I’ve got some ocean front property for sale in Nebraska.

    When MJ had back to back games scoring 49 & 63 on the Celtic's team with 5 HOF players he didn't attempt a single 3pt shot, when he scored his regular season high of 69pts it included only 2 made 3pt shots - when Steph Curry scored 50 pts the other day 27 of them came from shooting 3s.
    MJ was putting up those numbers in an era where the physicality compared to today was off the charts - he would average mid 40s easy today and if someone challenged him that he couldn't average 50pts you just know he would do it just to prove a point and you can be damn sure that he would be much better than 32.7% shooting from 3.

    • @matilija
      @matilija 2 года назад +1

      I mean, for sure he would, in 95/96 he shot 42% from 3 on just over 3 attempts per game, and in 96/97 he shot ~37.5% on just shy of 4 attempts per game, he would easily be able to adjust to a more prominent 3 point marksman if he wanted to.

      The poor sad soles today seem to forget that in Jordan’s best scoring season, he was dropping 37 a game on teams and attempting (not making - just attempting) less than one 3 ball per game. The year that Jordan averaged 37.1ppg, he attempted 0.8 3s per game for the season. And he had to contend with the old rules. James Harden, the year he averaged 36.4ppg, attempted 13.2 3s per game for the season. He had the no hand check rule and the extra step to help him out. Also, Jordan shot 48.2% from the field that season, while Harden shot 44.2% from the field.
    There is no doubt in my mind that Jordan, if he wanted to, would average 42-45ppg easy because his shooting percentage would increase to about 52% and he would make a few more trips to the line.

And even if he was just an average 3-point shooter, we’re looking at a man who would be averaging 40 points on a bad night, 55-65 on a good night. His steals and blocks would alter the game score. The 2 biggest reasons and what should be the most obvious……is that 1- like John Wall said it’s all 1 on 1, there’s too much space no big bouncers at the rim and you can’t touch him and 2- there’s many more possessions. More possessions means more attempts more points more everything. That’s why every night now multiple guys putting up 40,50 and like 5 triple doubles. Now every season guys are averaging triple doubles or damn near. It’s just a soft watered down league. And when the goat already feasted buffet style when it was the complete opposite of now…..yeah he’d absolutely wreck this league. Look at 23’s highlights he’s always going up on 2-4 guys at the rim and it still didn’t matter. Now take all those guys away. There’s not even a close 2nd to him. The goat debates make me want to puke.

    Michael Jordan‘s three-point percentage per game during his career was the exact same as the average three point percentage for the league. So he was not a terrible three-point shooter he was an average three-point shooter the only thing he was average at. When your average some days you’re cooler than others some days you’re hot. But he would find things in his game and he would improve them. LeBron James over his career barely averages more than Michael Jordan’s three-point percentage over his career and the average three-point percentage per game in the league during LeBron‘s years playing The league average for Three point shot percentage a little bit higher and LeBron was a below average three point shooter per game . There are some really interesting statistics that I graduate put together expecting the stats to favor LeBron more because he wasn’t as in the basketball as he was just a fan of LeBron and went all the statistics that he came up with were put together statistically per game statistics and then play off per game statistics and then finals per game statistics and even more very interesting to see sticks that he came up with told the whole story. And I like LeBron and now that he is getting older and physically not diminishing at all which he’s probably taking some HRT hormone replacement therapy a little bit of TRT and some chemicals to keep you young. Biologically it’s not possible that he would gain muscle into his late 30s and Steel keep his fat as low as it is stay healthy and still be as fast and explosive as he is. With that being said most players say by the time I retire my mind knows this game so well I wish I could take this basketball mind and put it in my younger more athletic body imagine the Michael Jordan that won his sixth title playing anybody when he was at his peak athleticism. But ultimately along with perfect fundamentals, was the fact that Michael Jordan was the greatest athlete maybe the world has ever seen. He ran a 4.3 his junior year his freshman year he was a 4.6 and he improved it to a 4.3 by his junior year. A basketball court is 33 1/3 yards. So the basketball court is shorter than the 40 yard dash, so some of these free gas leaves like Jordan could get down that cord into that hoop real fast. Without thinking too much I believe the two most athletic basketball players that I have ever seen were Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins. I think Dominique Wilkins because he’s so soft spoken and such a classy guy he doesn’t gloat very much but he was a monster on the court. His vertical was listed as 51 inches, but the eye test doesn’t lie when you see a lot of LeBrons dunks, very easy dunks there’s no defense there guys either back off or just aren’t there I don’t know why. And then you look at Jordan‘s highlight film and he’s dunking on 3 seven footers at a time taking off from God knows where and hanging up there long enough until the rest of the guys come back down to earth and then right before his feet land He re-directs the direction of his body mid air to hit a bank shot against some of the biggest strongest best defenders I’ve ever played underneath. Michael Jordan shooting average on a game-winning shot or a game-tying shot that lead to a win what is the same as he shot percentage during a regular game. So when the game was on the line he shot percentage did not go down at all. When LeBron James shoots a game-winning or game-tying shot at the end of the game he shot percentage goes down by 20%.

    Jordan wouldn't need the 3 to avg 40. His increased trips to the line and the "and ones" would get him to 40.

    Who do you see putting up numbers on a regular basis in this ERA - NO ONE?
    MJ would average 40-50 points easy.
    On a good night he would average 55 - 60 easy EASY!!

    And for all u youngins that think when he hear “hand check” u think we talking about just being able to grab a dude and redirect him, WRONG… What y’all don’t understand, what came along with “hand checking” the the ability to put your body on a ball handler .. if u watch a lot of those MJ highlights… as he’s at the top of the key or driving to the basket, the defender is Into his body… most times the defender has his forearm on MJ like as if he was in the post… your not allowed to do any of that today… theirs like 2/3 ft of air space between ball handler & defender now.. that’s what ball these guys are alluding to when you hear them all say “u can’t even touch him now” cause mj was doing all that without the cushion that NBA players now in days get to play with and take advantage of

    The only thing that would stop Jordan from getting 40+ in today's game is injuries. He remains perfectly healthy he'll easily get 40+ and with the bottom feeders his numbers would be inflated even more. With the way you can't put your hands on ppl on defense, how the fans is officiated,etc.... he would get to the line more, he'll shoot more 3s, his defense would allow him to get out in transition for easy buckets, yea 40-48 easily without breaking a sweat.
    Here's something some ppl didn't take into account. Jordan in today's game getting 40-45... isn't LeBron in today's game? When has he ever averaged over 35? So for him to be in this league and not get 35 but everyone saying Prime Jordan would get 45 or so, yea the GOAT comparison isn't close and with the advancement in medicine and technology he would stay healthy longer and play longer he would put the scoring title out of reach if he wanted to. I say with the way the game is played today he'd average 45-6-6 with 2stls 1blk a game easily

    Additional foul shots alone would get Jordan over 40. He wouldn't have to change his game or even take a single extra shot to get there. Regardless of what you think of the current rules, no one could argue Jordan would get fouled less today. That alone would get him over 40

  • @tric5122
    @tric5122 2 года назад +1

    I agree he would average whatever he wanted. If he had a team he trusted around him it's 35-40 a night. If it's a close game and he needs to take over, 60 for that game easy.
    If he is surrounded by subpar talent, he is averaging 50.
    Jordan was doing whatever he needed to do to win. If it was 30 and 10 assists he's doing it, if it's 50pts and 6 assists he's doing that. His will to win overrode his want to start pack
    I wish there was a vid of just how physical teams played him. Only other person I saw get abused like that was Shaq, and he was far bigger and more durable.

    For some reason the younger generation thinks that MJ couldn't shoot the trey a big reason for this is the LeBroniacs pushing that narrative. What they don't understand is that MJ could do whatever he wanted to on the court. If he put his mind to it he would be an elite three point shooter. In today's NBA I truly wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 50. I mean who could stop him from going to the basket? Plus he would be getting a butt load of steals per game.

    This, to me, is the one thing LBJ fans will NOT want to know the answer to, which Mourning asked: “I would have loved to see LeBron play in the 90s.”
    The answer: he wouldn’t be the LeBron you know now. And you’ll see a lot of that crying LeBron scenes if he played against the likes of the Pistons, Knicks, Bulls, Hawks, 76ers, Heat, Hornets, and Magic back then. And that’s the the EC.

    Jordan could top end at 45ppg because he was relentless. There is no player in history who had the combination of athleticism/motor. Drop 87 Jordan into today, he still wouldn't need a 3. His FG% would have gone from 48% to 55% and FTs from 12 attempts to 18-20. I know that seems ridiculous, but you have to know Jordan was a rim-attacking animal in 87. Defenses would be forced to foul him. He could approach 45 without a single 3 as long as he was getting 42+ minutes a game.
