Bro He didn't even have to shoot 3's he was so good at getting and 1's and getting to the line, that and before you knew it he had 30 or 40 points just grinding. Can you imagine the mental warfare he unleashed on his opponents could you imagine being on the other team, thinking there is nothing we can do to stop this man. You just thought whenever the game was on the line and the Bulls had another possession that MJ was gonna make sure he got it done. He knew what time it was, everyone on the court knew what time it was, and the fans all over the world knew what time it was, and no one was gonna stop it.That's a basketball God!

I'm a Knicks fan I despised MJ, and when it came game time I always had hope the knicks would finally stop him, but as the game went on I would feel the toll he was taking on my team, and in time I'd feel the toll as well, he was ripping my heart out right along with anyone who opposed him. Straight savage! After he would beat us time and time again in the playoffs, I would just find myself rooting for the man I despised just because of the greatness that I was witnessing, I had no choice but to be in awe of his ability to just take the heart out of a team and a crowd. LeBron doesn't have that ability, when the games on the line I don't feel the threat that MJ would impose, no doubt LeBron is a beast, but he doesn't put fear in my heart when he's playing my team and the ball is in his hands, because I know he's gonna usually find another player on the team, or take a difficult shot and sometimes it goes in or sometimes he walks off the court disappointed, MJ, always came out with his head high after a nba final, but MJ, it felt like it was %95 gonna be over, and like you knew what the future was gonna be, me leaving with my head hanging!

Fun Fact: after the Bulls lost their first 3 games of the 90-91 season, Michael Jordan would never lose 3 consecutive games again for the remainder of his career in Chicago. That's a streak of over 600 games, regular and postseason, without a 3-game losing streak.

Growing up in Chicago in the 90s, I had the fortune of seeing Jordan play live in person three times, along with watching nearly every game of the rest of his career live on local tv. He genuinely had no hole in his game. Top scorer, top defender, incredible handles, fantastic passer (on the few occasions when he bothered to give the ball to anyone else) and a refuse to lose mentality. He was revered and feared by the entire league. Nobody has come close to that since, which really sucks because, man, it was a sight to see. He was the biggest celebrity on the planet. It was truly unreal.

Jordan is the only player I've ever seen that had no weakness. He avg 5 assists and 6 rebounds for his career. That's incredible for a shooting guard. And on a season by season, especially the first half of his career. Those numbers were crazy. One year he avg 8 rebounds and 8 assists. While putting up over 30ppg. He also avg 3.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in a season before. Insane!

First of all, i am from germany, so i could never watch the bulls play live at the court. But me and my brother stayed up at night to watch the bulls play on tv. I still watch some NBA games so i think i can compare back in the days to now. Its worth watching interviews of Michael himself and interviews of other players talking about Michael. It says it all if other players where that terrified of him not to piss him of to make sure he doesnt go nuclear. His games were always good, he went on the floor to give the fans the best possible experience every game. Didnt matter if he was hurt or anything. He went on the floor and the fans knew there is a party coming. Another good video of him is his Hall of Fame speech.
What really makes him special was his mindset, determination and competitive nature. You could see that in every game and in the way he evolved from the beginning of his career to the end of his career. He came into the NBA as ok shooter midrange shooter, good defender but first of all finisher at the rim. His drive to the rim made him realize he needed to work on his body because he got beat up really good and he wasnt build right for that kind of punishment. So he trained and changed that. Some people said his midrange shooting wasnt good enough so he worked on that. Everytime he got challenged in a way he changed his gameplay, trained to get better and better. He always evolved, made sure to prove anybody wrong. You never knew from season to season what he added to his gameplay. He could read the games on court and act on that. He was the kind of guy that won games on his own if he got the feeling his team isnt up for a win. It was always a pleasure watch him play, see him getting better and better. Its a fact that Michael Jordan made the NBA world famous. Kobe had the same mindset like Michael. I will never ever say LeBron isnt a great player but compared to Michael its just another level. Some guys called him black jesus or god, think of that. If an enemy player has that kind of power over you to admit or call him stuff like that. Michael was the player you could put anywhere on court and he would be a massive problem for the opposit team. His influence on the NBA was huge. Thinking of him playing in the NBA now would be insane. Way less physical so he would have so much more space to play his game.
In the NBA now i like watching Steph Curry, seeing him evolve is huge fun. His ability to shoot from anywhere he wants is mindblowing, his handles are getting better and better. The big downside to Steph is his defense i think.
I dont hate on any body playing in the NBA, but Michael is and always will be a special player

I was the biggest Bull fan in Michigan during the bad boy era. I remember being in tears watching how they did my boy, fouling and cheating to win. Family laughing at me. In this season you just watched it all turned around! When he finally got past the Pistons. House full of family looking stupid while I'm the only one going BERSERK watching him flip that reverse layup over Bill Laimbeesh! Not long after that my pops came to the light himself😂😂 He had to acknowledge the truth he was seeing! Micheal Jorleone' was the Godfather of basketball!

Lebron is a great player.. probably top 5 regardless which is absolutely amazing.. but there's a big gap between MJ and the others.. and the more you research the more it becomes clear

Watching MJ play was like an event in my house, like getting ready to watch a good movie and you only get up between quarters. At 17:32 MJ goes against 7'1" David Robinson, a good shot blocker. On the highlight that starts at 23:39, he dunks on 7'0" Ewing and this highlight made it into so many NBA commercials (those with the opera music, old guys know what I'm talking about) I'm glad you're diving deep into the old NBA, checkout the 90's Bulls, one of the best teams ever. 24:12 was not Dominique Wilkins but Gerald Wilkins.

With Jordan you have to realize that there is no area, no aspect of the game that he did not perfection. Total perfection right down to the most minute details night after night. Another thing people fail to mention about Jordan, perhaps it's just so obvious is why, but he was the quickest player ever, especially on the baseline. I mean blink your eyes and he's by you and dunking the ball. Was just so great getting to watch his entire career.

    • @augustgreig9420
      @augustgreig9420 3 года назад +1

Yeah, I know right? He had a low post game right up there with Olajuwan's, maybe even fundamentally better than Hakeem's, only he was shorter.
Jordan was all about the mid range jumper. Teams were so scared of him getting to the paint, that all he had to do was take that great jab step forward and he'd get guys on their heels, and by the time they recover, he's putting up and ungaurdable fade aways.
Another thing young fans don't realize, in the playoffs, the defense is tight, real tight. Before a playoff game, motherfuckers will stay down in the locker room all night watching tape of their opponents, especially recent playoff games and games where they played each other
That, plus older rules like hand checking were legal and favored defense like crazy
And yet Mike still averaged 38.1 ppg and in the 92-93 finals put up these numbers:
      G-6
      PPG-41.0
      MPG-45.7
      RPG-8.5
      APG-6.3
      SPG-1.7
      BPG-0.7
      TO-2.7
      RPG-8. 5
      ORB-2.5
      DRB-6. 0
      3pt%-.400
      FG%-.508
      FT%-.694
That was against a great Phoenix team, and the only weak aspect of his game was his FT%, but that was honestly just an off series. The year before he shot an incredible 89%, and the next Finals he shot 83%, so those low numbers were kind of a fluke. But consider this, he averaged 41 PPG even though he was off on his free throws. Imagine what his PPG would be if he had shot 89% in that series.
Truly the man is the GOAT. When you look at his stats and highlights from the Finals, the biggest stage, the toughest competition, he is clearly number 1.

@@MsNewman1962 You sir need to educate yourself as well. Because your thought process is off. It seems like having the talent to make it to the finals is more important than winning the finals. The D was based on one on one but most of the time in those early years he scored on the 3 and 4 guys. And if you are as old as I am to have been to and watched and lived through and played in that era, it was 100% tougher. Nothing came easy. And MJ is the proof that if you put in the work and have the desire you will achieve greatness. LBJ will be in any talk because he is a great player in his own right. But as far as finals wins 6 and 0 trumps 4 and 8. To get there every year and not win says a lot. To get there and never lose says more. Plus all of the defensive accolades along with scoring. The 6 times he made it to the finals he was 6 time MVP. And he prevented a whole lot of superstars frim getting a ring once he got there. And his road was tough although he made it look easy.
