I must admit I found this ironic at the start.
Security guards generally aren't issued company phones. So you followed a guy, shouting and asked for his ID just because you believe he took a picture of you while he was on public property. You then also believed the guy was obliged to answer your questions and give his details.
The first few minutes almost seemed like you switched roles.
Wow just wow...if indeed it is his personal phone its an even greater breach of the law ...he was working in the capacity of security at the time.
Going `off site`...using personal not `company` equipment to record a member of the public makes it an even greater level of criminal offence.
I hope for his sake that`s not what he did....but thank you for confirming that this was likely to be the case.

Also do you actually believe that just because you work security for a company that its illegal to be off site, and illegal to use a personal phone to take pictures.

It doesn't appear that street photography is covered under data protection unless the photograph contains more information then simply the person.
It`s quite simple to explain....so i hope the security is reading this or you can pass on the education to him...The law that allows a member of the general public to record / photograph any thing their eyes can see from a public place DOES NOT apply to him period.
He works for a company / organisation and as such his actions are governed by GDPR ..He is referred to as the data handler under legislation and has legal obligations and rules which he MUST abide to...all of which he should already know if he`s competent.
Also NO it is not illegal to be `off site` but the actions he took whilst off site , whilst still in the working role as security still fall under GDPR legislation...if it was with his personal phone and not a company / work phone then he is digging his hole even deeper.
The `tit for tat` childish attitude and belief of Security and others that ` you are filming me and anything else you can see from a public place SO i can do the same to you because i am also in a public place` is simply not the case...He would be well advised to stay `on site` or be very aware of what is required of him if he again ventures into `public` shoving his camera ( personal or work) into peoples faces whilst working for a company.
He is not alone thinking he was OK doing that because the auditor was lawfully doing it but he will end up having the SIA licence revoked and leaving himself open to legal action.....he would not be the first and likely not the last.
In Summary....the law that protects our rights as the `General public` to film anything from a public place does not offer him the same protections as he works for a company and was doing so when he recorded the image...as such his actions are covered under GDPR as a data handler.
All relevant GDPR and data handler legislation is readily available online and any reputable security company should have trained / informed the guy of his responsibilities before throwing him to the wolves. He is not going to remove any supplementing data to render the image anonymous as per regulations as he lied about even capturing the image...and all captured in full 4k HD for thousands to see.

@@Jerry-mr9yb It's still really cringy to watch an auditor and security effectively switch places. When i watch these types of videos i don't expect the auditor to be the one getting triggered because a phone faced his direction, I don't expect the auditor to be asking for ID and I don't expect the auditor to be following and trying to question people minding their business.
I basically believe live and let live, if someone doesnt bother you dont bother them. I believe there is a process to go through to request your info from a company and no stage of that process involves following the security around shouting at them (unless you're a karen)
Im used to the bigger auditing channels who act very differently, think of DJ. I think it makes someone a hypocrite to engage in the same behaviours that they are against in other situations.
