The main colours I use are Cobalt Blue, Titanium White, Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Burgundy Yellow Ochre, Sap Green, Undersea Green, Joseph Zbukvic Neutral Grey, Green Gold, Deep Scarlet, Ultramarine Blue, Sepia and more.

Thanks for your videos. They are so informative and helpful. I have Daniel Smith and some QOR but in your demo I liked the way DS disburses better.

Thanks so much Helanna! As I want painting them it seemed like the DS section paper was dryer but I don’t think it was, it just took longer to disperse the pigment with the gum Arabic carrier and dispersed more after waiting.. It was a fun experiment, I wasn’t used to the behaviour of QoR paints and although I like some of their colours I think I’ll stick with my familiar Daniel Smith favourites!

I really liked the ultramarine in the QoR but hands down DS is much better I really liked the way it moved up the paper and the Quinn gold is the best color! Thank you for the video!

I agree with you! I am really used to the Daniel Smith colours I used and wasn’t sure what results I would achieve in the comparison. I did notice the QoR ultra Marine granulated more which I didn’t like in a sky. At first it seemed like the QoR spread faster at the tree line, I thought it was because of more moisture on the paper but then the DS spread more and with more time to control it. Great ovbservations! 😊🖐🏼

I love QoR. They are my main watercolors. So it's really killing me that you are pronouncing it as if spelling it. They are pronounced core like the core of an apple. Hope this helps :)

Thanks yes another viewer mentioned that too. I purchased three of their sets a long time ago and I’ve never seen/heard any of their commercials and no-one at the art supply store said the name. They are great pigments and fun to paint with! QOR “core” from now on I promise! If they hadn’t capitalized the R I would have certainly called them Qo R. They act quite differently than Daniel Smith Watercolours, both excellent pigments. Have fun painting, thanks for taking the time to comment.😊🖐🏼

Yes I think you are right. I’ve just always called it Q o R from their use of a lower case “o”. 😊
