So question I have the SG A 32 5G and my mother owns the SG A23 5G Why is hers in terms of when it came out more recent than mine? shouldnt it be the other way around how does that work? And why? Well all this is according to Google
A34 user here. I can definitely say this phone is one of the best overall package you can get for a midrange phone. Paying for the higher price tag like the S series isn't really necessary for those who don't really utilize the performance and features. This a34 has all the features(dual speakers, awesome camera, one ui, 120hz) you can ask for which is almost the same as the s series!
I bought that phone for my Mom and the only complaint she has is the fingerprint sensor; it just cannot be consistent with a tempered glass! She uses face unlock now.
@@Farhan_049 I have no problems with the fingerprint sensor atm. Maybe you could try use the gel screen protector. It cost around a few bucks and it doesn't crack easily like tempered glass.
I'm one of them who doesn't care much about the camera, as long it can take a quick picture I'm happy. I'm looking for decent scrolling (without lag) and a good screen. Even 128GB are more then enough for me. I'm old school, I connect my phone to the PC and just move the pictures from the phone to the PC. In all my life I never had a phone running out of space. The A34 sounds perfect. I use maybe 10 apps on my phone.
@@stansmith1114 In the end I got myself the Razor Ultra 40, best phone ever, I will never got a normal phone again. I loved the original Razor and was heart broken when they stopped making flip phones. Finally flip phones are great again, and the Razor is far ahead of the Samsung flip phone when it comes to implementation.
My dad wanted to get A14, I did some quick research and saw it's damn slow. A34 was 5 TIMES faster on benchmarks at about twice the price. It gets close to my S20 FE with SD 865, which is still lightning fast even today. I am glad I didn't go any higher, especially after watching this video.
I've been through a lot of high end phones this year. The iPhone 13 Pro, S22 Ultra and now the Z fold 4. I realize by watching this video that this phone would of 90% of the things that I need a phone for, for literally a fraction of the price.
Let's face it, the phone would do 100% of the things you NEED to do with a phone, it might lack some luxuries, but it lacks absolutely nothing you actually need.
I was watching the whole video thinking I 100% agree with this guy, but at the same time I was he is missing the camera , gladly you ended it like a BOSS.This year I Had my firsts flaghsips and true S line phone, I was always the value for money guy had chinese phones and liked it a lot because at end of the day all of them delivered more for paying less(used xiaomi oneplus mainly) But now it doesn't worth to import due to taxes and similar prices especially in high end phones. I got a oneplus 10 pro for 5 days wich burned the plate, and an S22 ultra for like one month, talking to a friend who owns a 22u the first thing I said to him was: Im disapointed it just not worth the price 5000 BRL( around 1000 dols) even tough i paid 3,700 brl in very good sale, but ende up returning, cause i dont like oversized phones, I dont use SPen often and hgiher resolution display;refresh rate doesn't make any difference to me, The only thing I'll miss is the zoom. to resume we pay like 2000 BRL just for the camera I got now a s23+ for 3300(+-750 dols) BRL and I think I will settle with this fits better for my use.BUt I have total awaraness there is almost no gap between mid range and premium mid range phone from the flagship is ALL about he camera, and together with storage was the only reason Im lefting a pocoX4 gt, wich is an absolute beast for 90% of the users just lack good cameras.
@@pedrothevenard exactly almost nobody needs a flagship, people Just want to have It, with exception tô content creators and people who need excelent camera in their device the mid range phone are more than enough
This year, samsung focuses more on the building up and refinement for user experience. I am using S23 ultra now, conpared to S22 ultra, everything is a little better for everyday usage. But that small portion is everywhere. So overall user experience seems to be improved a lot. When I tried A54 and A14 in the best buy, it is very solid for the price nowadays. Previous A series used to get a mere reputation in S. Korea, but this year A34 got a lot of attention as a value for the money.
User experience is mainly due to the software updates released. Virtually S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra is similar when it comes to day-to-day use, except for maybe the 1 or 2 second faster app loading speeds
I bought the A54 and it's an all-rounder but not best in any specific area. I am ok with that. Also the glass back does give a premium feel to it that I still have not put any back cover. So, if I had bought the A34 I would have surely put the back cover.
I actually didn't realise just how close midrange phones are to high end ones. I've recently picked up an A34 as a second phone for work to go alongside my S23. And I'm honestly starting to question why I'm paying £500 more for a flagship. In terms of features. DEX, wireless charging and all the other gimmicky stuff which I never use personally is irrelevant to me. The build quality obviously isn't as premium on the A34 and that is something I would miss if it were my daily driver, having said that they've done a fantastic job with what they have, the plastic all has a nice matte finish and feels great in the hand. The S23 has a great camera and obviously the two are not comparable in terms of dynamic range and detail. That said, the A34s cameras are still solid and in terms of general posts on social media, most people would hardly notice the difference. It's amazing how far smart phone cameras have come in the past couple of years. I've been quite impressed with some of the images I've shot with this thing in good lighting. The A34s biggest selling points are the screen, as it's on par with the high end devices. It's frustrating though that there is no adaptive refresh rate, as it seems like it has been intentionally left out as higher end only feature. The battery would be the next best selling point as it easily sails through a day of heavy use or two on medium use. Had adaptive refresh been a thing on the 34 the battery could have been even better. Don't get me wrong the S23 is a better phone but I'm actually mind blown by how good the a34 is.
They s23 is way more superior in every aspect, you'd realize it more if you compare the phones side by side. The major difference will be felt after 2 years where the mid range will start lagging but the flagship will still be smooth due to a superior processor and do daily tasks without overheating.
@@Lucy_595 I have compared them side by side, extensively.. but tbh I doubt after two years that will be an issue for me as I tend to upgrade every two years anyways and I've found in the past providing you maintain your phone well it will continue to run smooth for its entire lifespan. And from my use with both devices the s23 isn't actually superior in every aspect. The battery life on the A34 is actually far superior to the S23 (and the main reason I needed a second phone). But the point I was trying to make wasn't that the A34 is a better phone, it isn't. But that the performance difference isn't worth the difference in price. To me personally it boils down to 4 things and they are marginal really; 1. Do you care about better cameras? For me no, I have a DSLR which shoots a better image than any smart phone camera. I've taken pics on my S23 and A34 and 95% of my IG following probably can't tell the difference. 2. Better build quality? For me yeah I care about this and it's one of the reasons I will always prefer the S23. Having said that, for its price the A34 feels more expensive than it is, and it just has a nice feel in the hand. 3. Gaming? I don't care too much for mobile gaming but the performance difference is noticeable. But once again having said that, the A34 performs fine with any game I've booted up and I've never had an issue with overheating. Oddly enough though I have found my S23 to get quite warm while gaming, nothing that would cause damage to the phone but enough to notice. When it comes to daily tasks I can barely notice any real difference tbh other than the camera app running smoother on the S23. 4. Wireless charging? Possibly a big one for some people but again for me it's just not something I use and I'll always find charging with a cable to be far superior. From my use with both devices I feel like I'm getting probably 80% of the experience of an s23 on the A34 for less than half the price. Because when it comes to my personal needs for the device and the differences itself I truly only really care about the premium build quality of the S23 and it's not really worth the £400-500 more in cost. Probably won't stop me from buying an S25 but I feel if you're limited in your budget of it's a stretch to buy the S23 just get an A34 or A54 you're getting most of the features and only slightly worse performance for a much better price.
Depends on perspective. There are people who even complain about flagship phones having worse camera compared to some other flagships. And there are also people who are satisfied with mid range cameras.
Guys for a casual user which one is better: A34 vs Nord 3? Looking to use for 4-5 years. A34 will receive 4 years Android updates Nord 3 will receive 3 years of Android updates.
I believe for the next-gen A-Series phones, Samsung should give the A55 the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 (or Gen 3 if it's out by then) to make it a better value and avoid making the same mistake it made this year as well as perhaps a 108 MP main camera now that the 200 MP camera's here
Yes considering that the a 70 tier is no longer in production and the s24?s should get 200 mega pixels Also samsung is making a 300mp so s25's probes gonna get it So 108 should be in the upper mid tier by next year
They kinda did. Look up either the m54 . Its the India version of the A54. It has 8GB of ram as well as a 108MP camera. It even has a 6.7 inch screen. The only downside is the fact that they removed the stero speakers and it's a plastic build on the back
@@mrgodspeed it seems like it doesn't make sense. But the M54 is cheaper than the A54. Has a bigger screen and battery at 6,000mah and has the 108 sensor. Also adding stereo speakers surprisingly costs alot. They have to mount the top speaker at the right angle with the right amount of pressure release or else it'll blow the top speaker. That's why alot of older phones with the 2 speaker setup had speaker issues over time or from being dropped. The pressure made them blow. Newer speakers aren't as prone. But they still have to design the chassis to handle the extra movement and sound of it. But yes it is weird. But I guess they have to cut corners somewhere
Thank you so much for sorting this out 👍. I haven't yet bought A54 or A34 because I simply couldn't decide on which one to buy. Now I know that A34 is the one for my needs and very nice to save money too 🤗.
If you're okay with a worse battery life I suggest going for the S21 FE over any A series phone though, as any S series phone generally is always superior to the A ones.
@@mihirojha4475I heard the A54 has fantastic battery life. I don't have forts hand experience but most of the reviews/comparison videos I have seen. Tell me more of what you have found.
I've bought my brother a brand new A34 recently. I can confirm the phone is mostly sufficient enough for the most users. He plays games and the battery life is really good, and there is almost no heating.
G'day from Western Australia. Yesterday I bought the A34 for my wife, having discussed cost and specs for value - on now watching your video she is even more convinced it was a good decision and is delighted with the purchase! Thank you!
@@jfndjxn8545 Nope. No worries at all. Sometimes my A52s can get slightly warm, but then keep it well wrapped in a case that is also a wallet - so 3 layers thick not the usual two, thus more likely to get warm. My wife seems happy with the A34, and being slightly bigger likely helps with the cooling - having more surface area. So all good! The ambient temp can get to 44-46C in summer here in WA.
I was planning on buying the A54 but there was a deal on the A34 and I don't regret it at all. The only thing I would have liked is a smaller screen. Even smaller than the A54, about 6 inches
I'm on the A21s from 2020 and am struggling to decide what to upgrade to as there dosen't seem to be many improvements within the new A series line up. My phone has no lag that bothers me but I would like to see improved picture quality when zoomed in. I was hoping to get the A74 but it got scrapped
@@DevonianJannerfellow a21 user here, the upgrade in camera quality outside of flagships is going to be worser because most of it is on the software side of things, still the a34 has pretty good cameras and the specs are amazing, a34 should do you good, I'm buying one myself.
@dsg4500 Thanks, I've actually ordered the A34 and it's due to arrive today but will likely arrive Monday as the post service here is always late. I got the jist you get more bang for the money on the A34 vs the A54 but am looking forward to trying it out
@DevonianJanner It all depends on ur budget but I think as long as the A series you're buying has an Amoled display, a good processor for speed and decent cameras.
I knew it. I had the same feeling the first time I saw A34's specs and reviews. I'll definitely buy one if I had a chance. Teardrop notch doesn't bother me, especially since it's easier to put a tempered glass.
If I were on a prepaid plan, I would probably go with this phone. it's budget enough to where you could seriously not miss anything from a flagship, other than a camera, but then again, you could get an old school point and shoot that takes better images than the 200mp cameras on the flagships just because of the bigger image sensor.
I managed to get the 256GB model for £299 when Samsung did a promo in the UK. No regrets, one of the best phones I have used and that includes high-end models.
Wade, I bought one of these a few weeks ago, just thinking it might be decent, but I'm still flabbergasted at how good it is. Wish it had a punch hole selfie camera though.
I had the A52 2 years ago. When it died suddenly couple of months back, instead of getting the A54, I got the A34 because it wasn't worse off than the A52 (performance wise), and cheaper too.
Standard A52, or the A52s? Apparently there was a big difference. Interesting comparison because I have the A52s 5G and the USB port failed after a very very brief encounter with salt water (so much for IP-67!), and i'm not sure what to do now. A54 looks like a downgrade (similar performance but no headphone jack), so i'm not sure what to do, maybe just get the cheaper A34 instead and pocket the difference.
I have the A34 and A54. The 34 is smoother, camera almost as good, cheaper. The chip-set runs super fluid whereas the A54 is more choppy, even laggy in comparison. I would definitely recommend the 34 over the 54 any day. Especially if you can get the 256GB / 8GB Ram model. Fantastic value indeed.
I definitely agree with your points on this phone. I would describe it as the best mistake Samsung has made regarding their A series. The Mediatek Dimensity 1080 is definitely a better chipset than the Exynos 1380. I wouldn't touch an Exynos processor with a 10-foot pole.
@@DARTHBANE-sz4zj power wise they don't really have to do much but their main issue is to fix their fabrication first. Exynos by themselves probably aren't bad processors but Samsung's fabrication has some serious issues that causes all chips manufactured by them to have overheating and battery draining issues. I mean they even messed up the Snapdragon 888 and 8 Gen 1, after TSMC made the wonderful 865 and 870. So the issue is their fabrication, not the chips themselves.
exactly buddy the only one phone I had and it was really good by the way with exynos chipset wwas s7 edge, really a beast back then. Nowadays mediatek just crushes exynos just like every other brand. I've had never used the mediatek chipset before but I Knew the times when it was trash chips were in the past. And my first had to be the mediatek dimensity 8100 in a poco x4gt, as I said above dont lose in any point to snap gen1 besides the photos processing, an absolute beast chipset it crushes any task and to be fair I felt much more smoother using the poco than the s22ultra.
@@crit4686 very positive, coming from a Poco phone. Xiaomi UI is buggy here and there. I've never had a flagship phone but still pleased with my purchase.
I know there are other reasons that support getting the A34 over the A54, but weirdly enough, traditional speed tests can be a poor way to test chipset performance. Especially since the MediaTek processor is a year old and is very likely to be used in more than one phone by one brand, there is a possibility that the chip is just better optimised for. Now of course this is good for the A34 (and every other phone that has this chipset), but it doesn't mean the chip is necessarily faster. Still it remains to be seen whether or not the Exynos chipset will get better or remain the same.
If you look at the specd you will see that a34 chip had 2 cores at a higher frequency and that only helps with lower cpu intensive tasks like opening common apps - this can give the feeling of being faster but its only snappier...bring out some intensive cpu task and the a54 cpu will win. For dailly use though i will 100% take the snappier cpu.
Bro i have Oppo a92 for like since it was launched. I have to say from a samsung user before i bought the oppo A92, Oppo was the best phone i had by far but never had an exoensive phone before because i just dont like to spend big on a phone so 300-400 dollars is the most i spend
I got a great deal on the A54 and it wasn't much more expensive than the A34 (still in the mail, haven't got it yet) but I wish I brought this one instead. however, one benefit I can see with the A54 is in 4 years time it might run a bit better with updates (some reviews state that the A54 is better at games, those reviews may be more up to date than this one) but I'm a casual user so it won't effect me.
That's fine. But I need a decent camera. That's the only thing I need the flagships for. Too bad that the A series don't get upgraded to do a decent job at photos. I could compromise a little, but not as much as I would have to with the A34 camera.
that's it to resume today camera are the only one reason to think about getting a flagship, there is almost no gap between mid range and flagship, that's why I moved to S line... It is bit disappoiting but is the truth
Great points made I got the A34 for my Dad over the A54 in doing research as the A34 has better perlonged performance (no throtthing unlike exynoss) and better battery life despite the lack of vairable refresh screen and cameras are pretty close. The much cheaper price makes it a no brainer over the A54.
A54 has HDR and I'm loving my Netflix on it. Not sorry at all for picking A54 over A34. Also real world use of phones is not as scientific as tech reviews.
Having used both, I really can recommend either the A34 or A54 ... and I actually generally like Samsung phones. I have an A23 5G, an A33, and my wife has an A53. Other than a little disappointing battery life on the A33 and A53 - they are all perfectly fine for what they are. I purchased an A54 a couple weeks ago - I get choppy scrolling anywhere on One UI or in any app. I returned it. I then tried an A34. Excellent battery life and performance. The MediaTek Dimesity 1080 seems like a really good chipset. Its a real shame, because it scrolls smoothly (unlike the A54), but whenever I pinch to zoom it jitters like crazy - making it really unpleasant to use. Returned. Also - not a deal breaker for me - but both the A54 and the A34 have significantly worse viewing angles than the A53 and the A33 (with significant green tinting even slightly off angle on the A34 and A54). Also noticable white shadow under black fonts on a white background with the A34. I don't know why reviews don't mention this (or were they both bad units?) It seems Samsung really went down hill quality-wise this year ...
Bro..... a54's exynos chipset is dedicated for camera performance and the a34's mediatech chipset is focused on phones raw performance. basically Galaxy A54 is a camera phone and A34 is more like a budget gaming phone. there is a huge difference in photo samples of A54 and A34. it depends on you which one you need. camera or performance😅
that is true. something to think about when you are looking for a phone. what do you use it for? if you want best internet speed, browsing, occasional wedding/birthday snaps and really good connectivity then the A34 is the way to go. if you want to HD stream your genitals onto onlyfans, then A54(for 1080p!) obviously S series if you do that sort of thing in 4K😆
Thanks Wade. Comparing the two now, the A54 is definitely faster and smoother. As people need to learn, Samsung releases their exynos chips and they are not very well optimized from launch. But after about 3 to 4 months they speed up considerably. This is the case with the a54. It's running more smoothly than the 34 is. Another point is that the GPU is much better on the a54, if you're into any games. The a34 is really quite poor it games.😊 Agreed though, the a34 is a fabulous value right now. I find the only better value is to purchase a used flagship at half the cost about 14 months after launch.
This is my first phone and it is absolutely amazing 👏 Whenever I take photos in portrait mode (there are 10+ modes) people think a professional photographer took it or its 4k! Whenever I play gannes, it is so smooth on max graphics or even when I download games it is so fast! For 350 pounds, it's an amazing phone. The only thing I don't like about it is the thickness, I prefer thin phones but that is my personal preference. I really suggest this phone 🎉
To be honest since last year I recommend the a33 over the a53 and this year I strongly recommend the a34 especially with this beautiful design even with the drop notch. the performance is really amazing it's a good value for the money
@@BelaPumaHaha shitty UI with only 2 years at max of support. Not to mention some bloatware and spyware possibly installed. Not taking risk, galaxy > xiaomi
I disagree. A54 just ended up too expensive and thus fitting nowhere, neither midrange, neither high-end. A34 is just what A54 should have been in the first place. And A54 has many improvements over A34, that make it good long term, but not so much A34. It's sort of situation where you want A54, but cold mind says to get A34, only to end up at 90% satisfactory device instead of 100%. It's just a dumb dilemma to have. Also A34 made Samsung's cheaper phones disappear. There's A14, but it's e-waste and expensive e-waste. Where's A24 in EU?
I was excited about this phone but you made me doubt at the end of the video when you talked about the photographic section, so I decided to look for some more information, and in the GSM Arena review they especially highlight the photography of this phone saying, and I quote, "The 12MP (48MP) main camera stills are great for a mid-range device". And same story with the ultrawide, "The 8MP ultrawide camera produces very satisfactory photos. These have plenty of detail, and there is practically no noise", and the selfie shooter, "The full-resolution 13MP selfies look great, with plenty of detail and great skin tones and texture." So that's it for me, I'm going with A34
After all these years using flagships and occasion mid range, i feel it is always better to get a second hand older flagships for better performance, camera, build quality, speakers etc. Only drawback is less years left for updates and check for the battery health.
Just bought this phone yesterday and it really is a bang for the buck. Bought it mainly cus of the long term software updates. Wish it had a headphone jack though.
I have had the A34 for One month and its fantastic, great display and Audio im getting nearly 2 days battery as im not a Gamer and I'm a light user, also the chip doesn't even get luke warm, looks great in my Ringke Fusion clear case👍👍🔥🔥
@@redjinn999devil2 any phone can easily last for 3 years, it just depends on your use case. I used a $120 Redmi Note 7 Pro for almost 4 years and yes, it did get a bit laggy but it works still really nicely. Had to change because one other phone in the house died.
I definitely want anyone who wants this phone to be able to get it…but it would be pretty funny to see it completely sell out and have Samsung be stuck with only A54s 😅
I got the s21 ultra refurbished for 550 bucks in July off of backmarket and its the best choice ive ever made. I now made sure the next phone i get will be a better S series Ultra phone, so hopefully ill never go back to lag machine mid-rangers in my life. I recommend everyone to get an older flagship over any mid-ranger for the same price. And if you can, save up a bit more and get a newer flagship, since it is worth the money if you plan on using it for more than 3 years or so. And also, our phones are one of the tools we use the most in our everyday lives to do everything, so having a good one is a must, at least for me.
the Samsung A52s 5g was another anomaly like this performing better than its successors and still holds up thanks to the SD 778g processor and also happens to have a headphone jack. Been using it for a year now, its just awesome for the price.
I have the Samsung A52 4G with the Snap Dragon 720G, still works fine and fast. From work i have a Google Pixel 6a with its Tensor chip which is actually an upgraded Exynos from Samsung. about performance, it feels like the Galaxy A52 is slightly better. Only the camera of the Pixel 6a is better.
Me too, absolutely love my A52s 5G, amazing phone. Better than the flagship imo cos it has an SD card and headphone jack! Unfortunately my USB port developed a fault after a very very brief encounter with salt water (so much for IP-67!), so i'm looking at replacements. But the A54 is a downgrade (similar performance but no headphone jack) which is very disappointing for 2 generations newer. Going to have a look at other manufacturers, and if i can't find anything maybe go for the A34 to save some cash and keep an eye out for something better in future.
@@alkaholic4848 i have A52s and calling quality is tragic,it gets me nervous when i speak to others,i don 't hear them crearly....i' m going to sell it!
Depending on where you buy the Samsung A34 5G, some offer free original Samsung casing, some throws in a pair of free earbuds and some throw in screen protector. I bought mine with a free casing. I bought the screen protector from the retail store just for extra protection. I figure replacing a screen protector is still cheaper than replacing the display screen.
from my experience, it is really good, even at 120 set up. but i opted on 60hz for more longer batery life, it can withstand more than 24 hours if you use it occasionally (as a second phone)@@victorstrong7378
Also another big mistake is a54 price is around ₹40000 so if you can just spend extra ₹5000 you can buy s21 fe with 8/256 gb not only that they the latest version they released comes with snapdragon 888 processor
Absolutely fantastic review!! I wish I watched this before I bought my Samsung Galaxy A34( I literally just bought it today lol), because I honestly had no idea what the difference was between the 34 and 54 even after doing a side by side on GSM arena! However it sounds like I made the right choice and I'm glad you pinpointed the differences in this videos! Nicely done!
i switched to A34 from S20+ cause of "burned in" screen on S20+ and i can say this phone A34 is great, serving me same as S20+ no need for S23+, everything works great, only cameras are little better on S20+, but 4 me doesnt matter that much, pictures are still great on A34, im really impressed with it, great phone.
Personally i love my a54, upgraded from an a52 and the a34 was just too big of a downgrade design and camera wise, the main camera on the a54 can look identical to an s23 with the right settings, video and mic quality is surprisingly good even in noisy bar environments. I only do retro gaming with it and it does fine, cod mobile runs great too. The a54 could easily be an s23 lite
@@redjinn999devil2 No midrange phone will last moree than 4 id say. Only long lasting phones are flagship ones, and even then 6 years is kinda pushing it. For the longest lasting phone I'd either recommend S23-S23 Ultra, iPhone 14-14 Pro, or for longest software support (8+ years) but worse hardware Fairphone 5.
It has such a great value. Perfectly fits in my max price range under 300euros. No need for S series. RUclips, email, internet browsing, and making calls after all is what i need. Im getting this one as my a51 is starting to show its age
13:33 nice to watch your indepth expose... I quickly gathered that the A34 was a better bargain than the A54 and I was quickly swayed by just a few revelations before I got one for myself namely the screen size and the fact that HDR 10 was available for Netflix movies....its a little hilariously funny how I stumbled into the better buy inspite of the supposedly (nominally) superior A 54.. It's nice to hear you give I suppose the whole story...
My old Asus Zenfone 4 MAX started to give me issues and the camera quit, so my son bought me the A34 from Walmart. I had a 2 week stint in the hospital so the new phone was greatly appreciated. However, my experience with smart-phones is rather limited to the aforementioned Asus and the Nexus 4 before that. This is much faster, as well as much more storage and the camera takes pictures that aren't blurry, so I'm happy.
I have had my a34 5g for a while now, and it is one good piece of tech. It does everything extremely fast, and for the price, it is one good bargain for all which it provides.

Sure! You just have to be on a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile or one of their prepaid MVNO’s like Boost, Cricket, Tello, Simple, Mint, etc) It won’t work on Verizon, US Cellular or other CDMA networks

@@__eduardo.pereira__5284I think the A34s chip actually slightly out performs the A54s. The adaptive refresh is nice on the 54 but it maxes out at 90hz and the 34 seems to outperform the 54 in most battery tests. Samsung really made some weird moves with the A series this year.
The A54 is a good phone. Its speakers are great, the cameras are good, its microphone is fantastic, and it stays fairly cool when gaming. I've never felt that it was lacking in any way.
Love my A54 has that Premium feel and look Samsung just make better phones period!! And actually the A14 out sold them both but the A54 was right behind it (in sales) again gotta love Samsung they make nice phones for those that can't buy a premium device
In my country they only sell 6GB version of A34 and 8GB version of A54. The price difference is about 50 dollars. Which one makes more sense in this case? I think 8GB RAM is needed nowadays or not?
Based on how it's been in the recent years, the premium A is never the best, people never go to the extreme when they can't really afford it... they rathar be in the middle, that's why you'd get more sells from the A14 insted of A04 and more sells from the A34 insted of the A54, in my opinion samsung can't risk having the best of the best in the A54 so they make the A34 the smart edition, and their premium As a 'beta-tester' their new chip was tested on the A54, and now we get it in the tab s9-fe and it's probably their way of making a 'simple chip' that later on can be 'upgraded' to make a premium exynoss for future phones like the S24
The A1x phones can be bad value too, the A13 barely had a mediocre Exynos 850 chip, it might come with 32 bit Android installed and there's a 32GB variant with 3GB RAM. The A2x and A3x phones are better value
@@astroidexadam5976 it's still a budget phone, you're paying for the brand not the quallity when it comes to those prices... if you're getting anA1x you can't really complain, just get an older 'superior model'
performance wise it's really good,I just wish samsung also made a compact version. there is still a market for small pocket phones. These days you don't get that much choice in sizes, but the 5- 5.5" screen is still needed. i know big screens are designed for vieso use, but the basic "iphone SE" size would be really, really useful as a samsung budget "A" series.Perhaps even a ruggedised version for construction workers.the old nokia 3310 was bullet proof and a builders favourite
Interestingly, the A54 has worse battery life even though it uses adaptive frequency adjustment to save energy, in contrast to the A34. Imagine the battery life of a A34 with adaptive frequency adjustment.
Im in India i too opted to buy A54 but compared specs i finalised A34, im using it past 3 months its an outstanding device, im happy with my A34, thank u for ur great review❤
I've had it for like a week and quite enjoy it, It is better than the P40 I had surprisingly in a lot of aspects (but the more obvious flagship stuff, like the camera you mentioned, obviously isn't as good) I did not think transitioning back to proper android phone would be so smooth. Also the mini stereo effect as a result of the top speaker line, makes looking at visualisers while listening to music out loud even better. Do not like how the front camera having a lower resolution means it's more likely not to recognise my face.
I have both the A54 and the A34. I think you're dead right. The A 34 is way better. Smoother, better battery and the camera is just as good, in some cases better. Will sell on my 54 and keep the 34 definitely. (Both 256GB / 8GB versions)
A34 vs. A54 really confusing. My complains about A34 is simply cameras. Teardrop camera notch feels so outdated, man. I don't really want to look at that, I've already used phones with that notch. So ugly. Cameras also are pretty much average. Save the day but going to feel outdated in one or two year. Horrible decision for those who want to use phone 3-4 years. On the other side A54 has everything, but the glass back they used in the phone are giving warm to hands. Phone doesn't heat that much, but it feels like it is heating. So you can't really do something about because I've compared with other phones, they are on same heat but A54 feels warm, that's just it. And the most important thing is optimization, where A54 needs a support. I know it will handle everything but people are restless, and they'll announce another a series in 6 months. I don't see a reason to do not change if A55 comes with any chip other than Exynos.
@@Bass_Reaper_ Thank you. I love Samsung but it limited the decisions so badly. Like in the first comment I have said, A34 would be amazing with punch hole camera set up and a bit better rear cameras, A54 would be great with Snapdragon equivalent. If I could afford I would get S23+ and be happy. Sadly there's only 2 options in here. I'm not comfortable with other android phones because of the One UI software.
@@aydogank45 there's a lot of arguments with these 2 phones which is better The A54 would be better is it wasn't for that trashy chip that samsung put inside But the s23 would indeed destroy both also both phones will receive Android 14
I wish you hadn't mentioned the notch. It's ugly by comparison to the cut out on the A54, but I've bought it now, and hopefully I'll get used to it like most people say they do. I'm pleased the A34 has better battery. That's the entire reason I'm replacing my Pixel 4a - the battery can't hold charge anymore, sadly.
It's just the design that makes a54 a better phone like it feels so much flagshippp. The design of it was top tier this year for me and it's the first time samsung mimic their flagship phone for their midrange device, so overall I'll go for a54.
I just got the A54 and will return it. It might be a lemon, but the scrolling stutters all over One UI and in any app. The viewing angles are poor as well ( there is a blue cast seen on even a slight-angle shift). Except for battery life it's a downgrade from my A33
It's really not as bad as everyone says it is, but they should have put the enynos in the A34 and the mediatek in the A54. I can't believe they're putting the Enynos in the A35 and the A55.
Yep, Exynos seems to be the worst chips in term of Power efficiency and heating. Got S22 5G Exynos and this is the worst phone I had in years. My two previous ones were Xiaomi Mi A1 and OnePlus Nord, and both outperform the Samsung S22 in many areas, most of all - battery life, GPS signal and antenna signal. The Samsung was repaired twice already due to the battery dying or the 5G antenna getting hot enough to burn me. Edit: If Pixel 6a didn't have some of its bugs, it would have been the best option for me. Got one for my mother and it has been through enough abuse already to make any phone break down. But it is still going.
Hi Wade, I'm glad you made this shout-out for the A34. If I wasn't swamped and spoiled for choices as a phone reviewer, I'd also happily buy and use the Samsung 34. It's that good! Very solidly build - and a sufficient allrounder. Also watch my comparison of the A33 to the A34 here: ruclips.net/video/lYCLAEGkcLE/видео.html

Paying for the higher price tag like the S series isn't really necessary for those who don't really utilize the performance and features. This a34 has all the features(dual speakers, awesome camera, one ui, 120hz) you can ask for which is almost the same as the s series!

I have samsung A6, i am sorry you should research properly its all metal.
I agree; it's a shame this phone doesn't have an adaptive refresh rate. If it did the battery would be even better!

A34 vs Nord 3?
Looking to use for 4-5 years.
A34 will receive 4 years Android updates
Nord 3 will receive 3 years of Android updates.
I believe for the next-gen A-Series phones, Samsung should give the A55 the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 (or Gen 3 if it's out by then) to make it a better value and avoid making the same mistake it made this year as well as perhaps a 108 MP main camera now that the 200 MP camera's here
Yes considering that the a 70 tier is no longer in production and the s24?s should get 200 mega pixels
Also samsung is making a 300mp so s25's probes gonna get it
So 108 should be in the upper mid tier by next year
@@waizmudassar Exactly
They kinda did. Look up either the m54 . Its the India version of the A54. It has 8GB of ram as well as a 108MP camera. It even has a 6.7 inch screen. The only downside is the fact that they removed the stero speakers and it's a plastic build on the back
@James-fg3ed an 108 MP camera but no stereo speakers makes no sense to me, I wonder why they made it that way
@@mrgodspeed it seems like it doesn't make sense.

I definitely agree with your points on this phone. I would describe it as the best mistake Samsung has made regarding their A series. The Mediatek Dimensity 1080 is definitely a better chipset than the Exynos 1380. I wouldn't touch an Exynos processor with a 10-foot pole.
Too bad the exynos 1480 will come with amd radeon gpu

How is your experience?
Does it support GOOD LOCK
@@crit4686 very positive, coming from a Poco phone. Xiaomi UI is buggy here and there. I've never had a flagship phone but still pleased with my purchase.
@@navodyabatagoda sorry, I don't use it, not sure if it does have support for this phone.
My most recent Samsung phone was a s9+, thats now what??? 3-4 years old.
I “think” over all its still superior to the A series. Note i said “think”.
The Samsung A phones already give a excellent and better choice than Chinese base phones like Oppo, Vivo,...
A34 is lagging than a54 much laggier
That's fine. But I need a decent camera. That's the only thing I need the flagships for. Too bad that the A series don't get upgraded to do a decent job at photos. I could compromise a little, but not as much as I would have to with the A34 camera.
that's it to resume today camera are the only one reason to think about getting a flagship, there is almost no gap between mid range and flagship, that's why I moved to S line... It is bit disappoiting but is the truth
Just got an A34 5g after watching this video...chose this over the A54 5g...Thanks Wade!
Too bad both phones sucks at photography compared to other budget phones out there like the Pixel 7a.

that is true. something to think about when you are looking for a phone.

if you want to HD stream your genitals onto onlyfans, then A54(for 1080p!)
obviously S series if you do that sort of thing in 4K😆
@@zeliph you can't say Pixel 7a is budget phone, cause it never was in the first place

Totally agree with you absolutely loving it,it's a great device don't need to spend a grand on a flagship👍👍👍

One good thing about budget and mid range Samsung phones has always been the battery back up.
I have problem for a34
I casually play games alot and it seems draining faster, and the temperature gets warm quickly even when i just use yt and ig.
will it last for more than 3 years?
@@redjinn999devil2 any phone can easily last for 3 years, it just depends on your use case. I used a $120 Redmi Note 7 Pro for almost 4 years and yes, it did get a bit laggy but it works still really nicely. Had to change because one other phone in the house died.
you are a smart man, just hope everyone doesn't cause it to go out of stock.
Any issues getting a phone from them?
the Samsung A52s 5g was another anomaly like this performing better than its successors and still holds up thanks to the SD 778g processor and also happens to have a headphone jack.

Great review. This is my next phone when it goes below 250 on Amazon.. Also, updates too
My old Asus Zenfone 4 MAX started to give me issues and the camera quit, so my son bought me the A34 from Walmart.

In my country they only sell 6GB version of A34 and 8GB version of A54. The price difference is about 50 dollars. Which one makes more sense in this case? I think 8GB RAM is needed nowadays or not?
No, not really. Depends on what you mostly use the phone for. For the average user, 8gb ram is definitely overkill.
Bought mine yesterday.... I absolutely love it .. the phone is a machine ❤❤❤
