Wowww! This great episode of European history marked the emergence of a unified German Empire and the fall of the Second French Empire. Through a series of decisive battles and brilliant generalship, Prussia would forever change the balance of power in continental Europe. The decisive phase began when Prussian forces under General Hannes cornered French forces advancing toward Alsace. During this engagement, Brigade General Andre Garnier was killed in action, while General Wilhelm distinguished himself through exceptional bravery. The battle ended in a French defeat, with Marshal Chamillart abandoning his troops for the 2nd time. The subsequent Battle of Alsace-Lorraine near Nancy Mines spread jubilation throughout the North German Confederation, as fears of French invasion subsided. In the aftermath, Prussian forces pursued Chamillart to the Meuse River, where his remaining forces were decimated and he was killed by Prussian cavalry. General George Wilhelm again demonstrated remarkable leadership, showing confidence reminiscent of Lichtenburg despite suffering 2x the casualties. The Battle of Paris began with an artillery duel, but the French forces, having lost many experienced officers and gunners, failed to impede the advancing Prussians. Marshal General Napoleon III was forced to flee when charged by Prussian Guard Cavalry as he attempted to enter the battle. The newly promoted General Molière's attempt to replicate fallen General Lejeune's strategy proved disastrous, with Prussian artillery devastating the concentrated French troops. When French forces attempted to charge gaps in the Prussian lines, they found the Prussians had adapted with anti-cavalry squares. The battle ended in catastrophe for the French, with General Molière killed and his forces routed. General Kaufmann's victory solidifed him as Prussia's most celebrated general of the era, surpassing Lichtenburg. General Holzer, supported by Lichtenburg's reinforcements, stormed Paris to prevent a prolonged siege, as Kaufmann's army recovered from previous battles. Despite Marshal General Napoleon III's desperate defense, his army was destroyed and he was captured. Holzer's Grand Cross of the Iron Cross award placed him alongside Lichtenburg and Kaufmann as the "3 Generalfeldmarschalls" of history, while General Wilhelm emerged as a rising star. As General Runge approached Toulouse, Prussian intelligence revealed France's deteriorating condition, with 2 months of fighting causing more Prussian casualties than the entire Austrian campaign. The war concluded when Mallery sued for peace, with France ceding Alsace-Lorraine to Prussia and accepting temporary Prussian occupation of Paris and Marseille. King Friedrich I was crowned Kaiser at Versailles, while Mallery was deposed and the French Third Republic established. Napoleon III, the 8th Marshal General of France, died from health problems in Prussian captivity. The dissolution of the North German Confederation marked the dawn of the German Empire! A detail I really like about this mod, is the different coats the horses have. They're not all uniform the same color.
A mistake was made 😅. This was not supposed to be released at midnight....
