The Olympic race is going to be something. These two young ladies are perfect role models and fierce competitors. The last 100 meters is going to be epic. I predict Sydney will have the lead but Femke will be closing... closing...
I wonder about the advantage of the altitude. You have 2 components: less air resistance and less oxygen. In 1968 in Mexico the winning time of the 10.000m was 29:27:40. Altitude: 2400m. A very poor time and way below the WR. Why didn't they break the WR? Explanation; less oxygen, much more important than less air resistance. Of course 400m h at 950 m is different than 10.000m at 2400m. There is a study about the prestations of middle and long distance runners. Their prestations declined with 2-4 % above 1000m and with more than 4 % above 2000m. In other words: Femke had a disadvantage and should have run 2% faster at sealevel......
Higher altitude is good for sprinting but bad for long distance running. I too wonder up to what distance it is an advantage. I guess at 400m it still helps a little. But not as much as some people think.
What has happened in the last couple of years in both the men's and women's 400 m hurdles. They are running times unthinkable even 4 years ago. Of course on the men's side 46.78 had stood since Barcelona (1992), so perhaps not that surprising and people like Samba showed the way some 5-6 years back.
I think Sydney McLaughlin's lack of racing over the last two years may be her Achille's heel. The great Ed Moses argued a few weeks ago that a lot of top hurdlers are not not racing enough and are therefore more prone to mistakes if put under pressure. Sydney is marginally quicker but could be prone to mistakes if Femke is breathing down her neck in the home straight. Shaping up for a great battle.
I don't think Sydney racing a lot less than Bol the last 2 years will make a difference, all that matters now is this Olympic year and they both have raced exactly 4 times in the 400mH. I do agree that Femke running a sub 51 here after Sydney sharpened her WR could make for a great battle in Paris ... let's hope they both get there at peak form !
@@gperr2716 Tell that to Ed Moses not me. I think he has a lot more experience of this 10 years and 100 races at the highest level without defeat) than either of us!
Femke loopt altijd in het midden van haar baan en Sydney loopt aan de binnen kant van haar baan. Als Femke dat ook doet kan ze er zo 0,30 van aflopen en kan het een zeer spannende race worden.
Bol knows , that braking a worldrecord is most spectecular, to do on the Olympics in Paris. On these tracks there is nobody to compete with, so she must win the race and thats enige for today..😉
Slight advantage for Syd. Femke's record-breaking race took place at 3,255 feet altitude. Syd's world records took place at 430 feet altitude. Paris Olympic Stadium is 115 feet altitude. High altitudes are helpful for races 500 meters and above.
994 meters gives about 0.1 second advantage I think. On the other hand: this is a simple local track, not the super bouncy Beynon surface of Hayward field that Mrs McLaughlin has run her supertimes on...
I think that both Femke and Sydney will need to break the WR to win the Olympic medal - and they might both break it, meaning that one of them could break the old record and still not win the race. Imagine how much faster Bol can run when there's some actual competition.
Would someone please tell me when Bol is going to be able to run with Sydney. I’m just wondering because all of these experts have said Sydney can only run in Eugene Or. and Bol is going to overtake her since her times are getting closer. I guess France is right next to Oregon right? That must be it. Lmao. Cmon what’s the excuse this time? How about this one. Bol had higher hurdles to go over. Yup that’s it..roflmfao
Well for one Bol ran down the American Mixed Relay team coming from 20 meters behind, to get a gold medal for her team... While mcLaughlin, was RESTING and saving her powers...
Femke finally got into the exclusive SYDNEY SUB 51 CLUB. Congrats. But to all you folk who think that Femke is in the upper echelons of that club, here are a few reminders: Syndey set a world record time of 50.65 seconds at the U.S. Olympic Trials on June 30, 2024. She is the first track athlete to break four world records in the same event: setting four world records during 13 months, she was the first woman to break the 52-second (June 2021) and 51-second (July 2022) barriers in the 400 m hurdles. If this club was ranked like football leagues, Syndey would be the NFL Super Bowl champ, Femke would be the D.1 College football champion, and the rest of the field would be playing high school football.
Sydney is technically hurdling very nice, true. Femke is clearly improving on that front, but she'll always be a different type of hurdler because she's taller and more of an endurance based sprinter. In the end though, it obviously doesn't really matter how nice it looks, just how fast it is ...

Femke is on a mission, with patience, so is Sydney.
However, I think Femke will surprise herself, Sydney and the world in Paris.
🤣🤣🤣🤣"Femke doesn't look really exhausted after her run compared to Sydney."-----where did you pull this nonsense from?? Your behind probably-------Go watch Sydney's recent world record run and come back and tell me whether she looked tired---------------You Bol fans are so desperate to compare her to Sydney, but after Paris, you will come back here with a boatload of excuses as to why Femke Bol lost badly
@@kobbieafriyie2172 Come on, chill.....been watching many races of these 2. And i'm neutral compared to your comment. Let's keep it friendly and respectful ok? You're in camp McLaughlin, fine. And probably feel the heat maybe by Femke. Otherwise you wouldn't comment like you did. Both athletes deserve respect.

The Best Beautiful Bol
Fantastik Run
Good like in Paris...
On the track located at a 1000 m altitude favorable for performance, the Dutch Femke Bol opened the ball with a new European record in the 400 m hurdles.
The Olympic race is going to be something. These two young ladies are perfect role models and fierce competitors. The last 100 meters is going to be epic. I predict Sydney will have the lead but Femke will be closing... closing...
Here we go!
Cannot wait to see how far femke and Sydney can push each other at the Olympics !!!
Let's Go! Femke at least you are clean
Rediculous comment.
Omg..Is Good Spirit The Strong.. Atletik, Sport. 😁🤗
incredible finale at paris 2024 with sydney and femke
we can have a new world record with one of them make a no volontary pace for the other one
Can we petition for Sydney and Femke to contest the 400m flat in Olympics? Both will be favoured to be in the rostrum too
1:17 is the ultimate hypeman.
hope she won olympic gold
Looking first 50.95 at thumbnail first I thought it is a 400m flat race.
Anch'io ho pensato lo stesso!
Allucinante
Lets go!
Only 0.30 seconds off the world record.
Prone to mistakes ? 400 m hurdles is execution and stay with your script ...it's not a 100 m sprint..
Ed Moses is a dude.
I think he has a lot more experience of this 10 years and 100 races at the highest level without defeat) than either of us!
how else is she suposed to dope lol
Femke loopt altijd in het midden van haar baan en Sydney loopt aan de binnen kant van haar baan.
Als Femke dat ook doet kan ze er zo 0,30 van aflopen en kan het een zeer spannende race worden.
I love Femke. But I love Sydney more. Damn !! ❤❤
Great! We are looking at sub 50 sec at Olympics!
I don't think so unless they have an extremely fast track in Paris.
Thought that was Roger Black interviewing
is Femke coming for Sydney?
Can't wait for the Olympics
Bol knows , that braking a worldrecord is most spectecular, to do on the Olympics in Paris. On these tracks there is nobody to compete with, so she must win the race and thats enige for today..😉
Slight advantage for Syd. Femke's record-breaking race took place at 3,255 feet altitude.
Syd's world records took place at 430 feet altitude. Paris Olympic Stadium is 115 feet
altitude. High altitudes are helpful for races 500 meters and above.
994 meters gives about 0.1 second advantage I think. On the other hand: this is a simple local track, not the super bouncy Beynon surface of Hayward field that Mrs McLaughlin has run her supertimes on...
@@rientsdijkstra4266 You joking, right?
@@dmvbay2535 no, he has reason
@@flavioborgiani6057for Americans facts are jokes.
The World Record for this event is going to be broken at the Olympics.
In my opinion.
You were right. Broken by Sydney again!!!
Will we ever see sub 50 400mH?
😳 Olympics is gonna be 🔥🔥🔥🚒🧯
it is on like Donkey Kong!
You have got to be kidding me. Take that Silver medal. Sydney McLaughlin is unbeatable.
No such thing as unbeatable.
Here we go again with another unneeded comment by some Fanboy.
@@quizman365She is unbeatable in the 400 mh 😂
@@jimmybondy9450 here we go with someone who knows nothing. Sydney is unbeatable.
@@SW-nx4jz say what?
Progression of the gap between them: 2022: 1.24 seconds, 2023: 0.8 seconds, 2024, untill now: 0.3 seconds. You see the trend?
@@rientsdijkstra4266 ...If you ain't the lead dog, the view never changes.
We don't know how fast Femke could run in Eugene, where Sydney ran her best times.
@@HeadPack We know exactly how fast Femke ran in Eugene when the 50.68WR was set because she was running there as well.
@@HeadPack Could take advantage of the magic clock at Haywards Field then like Sydney does.

I think at the Olympic they both gonna beat the world record an might run under 50 sec
Bol has a real chance at gold!
...if Syd falls...
If she falls, it is because she will fall from the throne and there will be a new queen...Femke Bol!
How do U turn Syd into a Ghost? Just say Paulino
She did that in altitude?
Got her at +475 to win the olympics.
She didn't even win silver in Paris 2024 but bronze 🥉
After having run down the American Mixed Relay team coming from 20 meters behind, to get a gold medal for her team...
OMG
Bol improves the fastest 🔥
Now half a second! She's far away from her top level, lovely 👍
Peaking just at the right time .
Always said it. Bol will wim the gold next month and destroy the world record.
I bet you been saying 'it' since 2020. How's that working out for you?
High altitude performance.
1000m above sea 😂
U can not compare with near sea level
Fast but she doesn't clear the hurdles like Syd does
Sydney is technically hurdling very nice, true.
Femke is clearly improving on that front, but she'll always be a different type of hurdler because she's taller and more of an endurance based sprinter.
In the end though, it obviously doesn't really matter how nice it looks, just how fast it is ...
There is still some more possibility for further improvement...
She is usually very smooth - this race wasn't her best. Which honestly makes the massive PB even more shocking and impressive.
