- From the All Star Rock n' Wrestling Saturday Spectacular! This show was a showcase for the 1985 CBS Saturday morning block and featured such stars as Piper, Pee Wee, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Cyndi Lauper, New Edition, and more.
Piper: "I'm here to chew bubble gum and play with sock puppets, and I'm all out of bubble gum."
RIP to them both.
Spearmint or fruit?
A friend of mine used to say I am here to kick bubblegum and chew ass, and I'm all out of ass. lol
@@lisvender I'm guessing he's out of both.
The only guy to ever leave Roddy Piper exasperated during a war of words. RIP Pee-Wee.
Right 🍻
Pee Wee gave Roddy a better fight than Keith David in They Live (1988).
facts.....that was fantastic!
Bobby Heenan would disagree. 🧠
@@bigneiltoo is they both in-character
Two fantastic comedic minds having fun, from two different worlds of comedy. Both of them are having a laugh right now at our expense. Rest in Peace, Pee Wee, and Roddy.
no, they're not
if you think either one is a "fantastic" comedic mind, you don't watch enough comedy. either that, or your nuance filter is broken. is everything "amazing" or "horrific" to you? i think it's a spectrum thing.
...Every Saturday I would wait for These Two Witty Geniuses to come on! Although most times hung over , They managed to put us in Stitches everytime, whether in the Pit or connect the dots! Miss Them Both, RIP Mr. Piper and Mr. Herman...
@@ModeratelyAmused You had a Sad childhood
@@ericw1314 if your nostalgia for what you liked as a child, influences what you like as an adult, you have a sad adulthood.
Roddy incredibly Pee Wee comedic equal. Both giving the other the space and room to let the gag flow. Magic.❤
Very important. Too many people want the attention and can't give someone else room to work. Classic.
Good bye to a comedic Legend and I still miss the Greatest Heel to ever enter the Squared Circle.
He's not going to be here to perform comedy or watch his performance or make us love
He was a legit badass.
Agreed, Roddy was a legend.
Yes RIP Roddy Piper 😂
“Squared Circle”?
I loved Roddy Piper. One of my favorite wrestlers. RIP RODDY AND RIP PEE WEE
Ugh, sad day, RIP to both
No regerts
Pee wee Herman was convicted of possession of child pronography may he rot in hell
Two absolute legends from our childhood. Had I seen this as a 10 year old, my brain would’ve melted…
Peewee effectively demonstrated how to deflect confrontation
I know you are but what am I-seriously needs to make a comeback. I’m not even going to warn my teenagers about how embarrassing I’m about to get! 😂
I'm rubber your glue difuses almost any confrontation
Roddy playing it perfectly as always.
I never thought I'd see these 2 guys together in a million years. Wow how cool is this Roddy and pee wee great characters.
The 80s were such a blast! 2 one of a kind legends! RIP my friends!
So pee wee actually invented Mr. Socko...
thats what I just said lol
I mean, Kermit was literally just a sock in 1955.... so no. Absolutely not.
It was Sheri Lewis who invented the sock puppet with 'Lamb Chop' around 25 years earlier.
She was pretty big during the 60's.
@@YodatheHobbit Mr Socko was a sock puppet used by wrestler Mick Foley in the 90s. But apparently pee wee had the idea of Mr Socko first.
@@kensolar69 I loved Sheri Lewis and [innocent-ish] Lamb Chop and also, in contrast I loved Ron Hall and [ 'violent' ] Emu in the mid-70s.
R.i.p Pee Wee! You gave me a lot of joy, laughter and entertainment in my early childhood! You and Ernest .P Worrell will always be part of fond memories of my childhood!
I miss them all. Know what I mean, Verne?
Long Live Jombi!
man my father and i would rent ernest vhs and bring em home he would always fall asleep 10 minutes in everytime lol
Too bad pee wee and ernest didn't have a crossover movie.
@@ArthurVega1992 that would have been unbelievable! But egos probably would've never made that possible!
I vividly remember all those Pee Wee lines being used on the playground when we got into fights.
From beginning to end this was epic. Sadly I missed it at the time it aired originally as I was in college and had discovered the healing benefits of beer.
👍 👊
This has Jerry Springer for Kids vibes and I love it. Roddy and Pee-Wee had awesome chemistry.
I honestly had to watch this in this day and age to truly appreciate Paul Reuben. Thank You.
Rip guys... thanks for the childhood memories
Wow mind blown!!! RIP to both of these super talented showmen!! So happy I grew up in the amazing 80s😂
This showed me that Roddy was more clever than I realized. Two legends there.
Roddy used to walk in the back door of Maple Leaf Gardens with jeans and a t shirt with an adidas bag over his shoulder. He treated all of the staff like gold. Pure class.
Rip Peeweee and HotRod!
The Gardens and Piper oh the memories that brings I was there a few times
@@wwmoggy I sold ice cream bars in 86-87. Great times!
I mean, his wit was what he was most famous for. Lightning quick and never lost for words.
Love them both
Two of the best guys to exist in my timeline. Shall we all be gods after we pass this reality!!!! Thanks for the good times RP/PR....
Two great men gone too early. I remember cracking up listening to Piper's memories of wrestling right before he died, golden stuff.
The day two grown men, one in a kilt and the other wearing lipstick and a bowtie...while playing with one's socks made me shed a tear of sadness.
It was a great moment
Epic
Greatest RUclips comment of all time (GYTCOAT)
Well said, felt by many who experienced them and understood their unique talents.
I hear ya,bro
God I love the look when Pee wee gets annoyed haha what genius comic timing
Growing with these two guys, it's hard to wrap my mind around both of them being gone.
Makes you realize how much time has gone by. 40 years now. Half a lifetime.
Not very hard. Your mind seems not to be wrapped too tight.
@@stacyhamilton2619 "Your mind seems not wrapped too tight" - woman who wore a surgical mask to the grocery store for four straight years, because sniffles (and who will now regurgitate the 2000% inflated death count as her "argument").

@@eelobrian6727 It's hard to wrap my mind around that idea. Growing and all. Pipers been dead a long time. What does your mind do when it needs to react quickly?
Miss them both very much
R.I.P. to both those legends
I love Roddy Piper, gone far to soon. His acting career had spiked after wrestling and in 2015 sadly the former wrestler and Canadian army vet passed.
@@SkyNetGeneral- I have a lot of respect for both. Paul was great in Men of Mystry, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. And Roddy was iconic in THEY LIVE.
I don't know where you got that army vet thing. Piper was never in the army.
@@jaysuschristmas4909 several interviews he talked about serving in the CAF
I agree I miss piper he was my fav wrestler im happy I have his figures n funko popscn I have his comic book he made before he died that his son autograph
@@deanbusch2727 but piper started wrestling when he was 15. I really doubt piper got into the business and then decided, hey I'm gonna get into the air force.
This is one of the best thing I've ever seen.
RIP you amazing people
I loved me some PeeWee, but Rowdy Roddy Piper was one of my most favorite characters of the 80's. 😁
Roddy had to cover his face, at the end, to prevent from cracking up...PRICELESS!!!
@lawrencedaniels9231 I don't think Pee-Wee weighs enough to be slammed.
@@wadestanton Roddy could toss him in the air and watch him drift back down like a big feather... unless Pee-Wee just flies away like at the end of his original HBO special
At @1:39 he makes Roddy laugh LOL!
Legends!
You can tell they're both having such a good time!
This is one of those moments.
This SCREAMS 80's.
When i think back to the yellow lighting, the yellow/brown/orange flower patterned couch, still comfy as the middle hadnt been blown out yet. Crystal glass everywhere. The "new" vinyl topped kitchen table, with the ribbed siding, standing on 4 thin legs. The sounds seemed more dull. Eveything had a quietness to it. Like a white noise was always in the background.
Big Bird and Grover were the biggest things!
Yeah, this fits right in to that mooding.
This would be something id catch on a saturday or Sunday rerun.
What an era!
God, I miss those days. The 80’s were so freakin fun. I’d give almost anything to go back and relive it.
About 20 million Gen Xers right there with you buddy.
2 of the greatest comedians of the age
Hokey smokes! This is the first time I've ever seen this and I'm laughing so hard. Grew up with Pee-Wee and the old school wrestlers like Roddy Piper. Thank you for uploading this!
sane here! Honestly I have forgotten how funny hivy Harmon Oka Paul Reuben was
Ha! "Hokey Smokes!" Rocky & Bullwinkle! :)
Never envisioned these two together on Pipers Pit lol. Pure gold lol.😊
That improv was so hilarious. Both Pee Wee and Roddy were good sports to entertain us with comedy. God bless them and God rest their souls.
Piper, Pee Wee and Socko’s parents. Legends.
What a great moment with those two. Awesome
Also where Pee-Wee first caught the eye of CBS execs that soon led to his own show. He deserves a posthumous HOF induction.
he did have a feature film that came out in 1985
WORD!
He had a stage show in L.A. that made him famous in that town. Watch "The Pee-Wee Herman Show - Live at the Roxy Theater 1981" [edit: it has a lot of elements that were later used in "Pee-Wee’s Playhouse" - and some things that couldn’t be shown on children’s television]
Also, he went on Letterman several times between 1982-85. Those appearances and the HBO special really exposed him to a younger, hipper national audience.
A year before Pee-Wee's saturday morning TV series
premiered on CBS!
Missing that kind of silliness these days. Everyone is always butt hurt about everything. Ahhhhhh....lalalalala!!!!🤪
Oh my God....How did I ever miss this for 38 YEARS!!!!!!
They're hanging out together, and Betty White is there too.
Gonna miss the hell out of Mr.Rubens.
Pee Wee Herman forever. 😢
Hard to see more and more icons from your youth gone year after year. That's when you wake up and start to realize that you may feel young and even act young, but you really are getting older. Thankful that while it was the low resolution 80s VHS tape TV era, that at least we do have a record of all the good moments from the 80s. Thanks to everyone that takes time to copy off those old tapes. They are all worth their weight in gold to this kid at heart.
This conversation has resumed once again...rest in peace pee wee and hot rod!
Right now,PEE WEE HERMAN and ROWDY RODDY PIPER are having good laugh about this In heaven.R.I.P to the both of them.
Wow I never actually saw this before but funny as hell 😂 I think peewee would make a good wwf manager for piper
2 great entertainers right there. A golden moment.
Totally exclamation poi know how when Roddy stood up too challenging him. too funny!
Rip Pee-wee, Rip Roddy Piper. Two of my favorites of all times. 🙏❤️
The OG Mr. Socko. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My head feels like it's going to explode. Two of my favorite icons of all time in the same place
The world needs more of this.
RIP amazing humans
I love this
2 of my super favorite entertainers
Both very missed
❤❤
I hope these two great 80's icons are holding a sock puppet conversation in the great beyond. Rest easy, fellas.
Pee Wee was fearless.
I’m so glad I grew up back then
Pee Wee getting in Pipers face in Heaven right now.
Pee Wee's pants are in style these days, he was fashionably ahead of his time. RIP Pee Wee Herman
Sone no pants will be back in style. Cheers to the Scottish
@@TuckFwitter I didn't say I liked it.
@@TuckFwitter Cheers to the Cree!!!!!
It's good to see two total brilliant nuts be completely crazy together. Ineffable.
I'll never stop missing Roddy. I'll probably miss Paul continously.
His character had been fully developed by this point, like a polished diamond. Pee Wee was a diamond in the rough in the late 70s, early 80s -a little rough around the edges and didn’t have all his mannerisms and sayings figured out yet, but he was fully formed by the time his first movie came out in 85, when this episode occurred. Brilliant!
I wasn't really a wrestling fan, but Roddy was awsome.
Pee Wee Herman and Rowdy Roddy Piper! What a pair...a classic!😂
Roddy Piper was my favourite! Talented wrestler, actor and comedian. And sooo good looking! Rawr! Never going to be another like him!
To top it off, the other gentleman onstage w them is Gary Owens, aka the announcer on Laugh In and the voice of Space Ghost.
Hogan never pinned Piper, but Pee Wee did. Thank you for this.
They worked together so well! Whoda thunk it!
Roddy started to laugh when Paul took his socks off.
This is gold!!!
Gold, Jerry, gold!
@@jedijonesIs that you Bania?! 😮
Was in my 30's in the 80's, wanna thank these two for extending my childhood
2 nicest people ever....no one ever said bad about the.
Pee-Wee, don't forget to tell 'em Large Marge sentcha! ❤🖤 🙏🏼
Awesome find. Thanks
Vinnie Mac watching a pro wrestler with a sock on his hand, plotting future acquisitions.
Roddy should have pulled out a coconut. GAME OVER Pee Wee!!!!
This was great! So much fun to watch!
I grew up with these guys, and never knew this had happened. At almost 50 years old, I discovered tired just tonight.
Thanks for posting it!
RIP Reubens and Piper
Both legends
Can we just stop to appreciate that he was so dedicated to the bit that he drew on his own socks with permanent marker.
Roddy was a born showman, I forgot that clip, still made me laugh...
Enjoyed both of them!
A year and a half. That is how much time I give it until we see a Pee-wee Herman Story movie. I suspect one of the following titles.
The Pee-wee Herman Story
Pee-wee
Herman
I know you are, but what am I?
This man was there my entire childhood and kept me laughing all the way. He will be sorely missed.
"Ahh! Owww! Eeee! Uhhh!"
- Paul Reubens
Two great Americans. We love you both.
2 legends gone, r.i.p, what fond childhood memories.
Two icons of the decade. I love Pee-Wee but wish he gave Piper's comments some room to breathe. Roddy never really got out of the gates, but they could've done gold if he did. R.I.P. to them both.
Two masters of their craft. So great. And they worked so well together. Also, sidenote: Piper kind of looked like Judge Reinhold in that clip. It's like if 1980s Judge Reinhold got really big and strong.
"I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you." Most classic comeback ever!
RIP to both great legendary entertainers.
Those child porn charges didn't bounce off of it
These 2 are having so much fun up there now! RIP to 2 legends!
Two of my favorites! They had good chemistry! Peewee should have had Roddy on the playhouse!
That would have been great.
There is something so likeable and gentle about Paul. I miss him already.
This was grand and I loved both of them! Roddy was the BEST heel EVER!!
