Been to quite a few Northern Prem/North West Counties clubs, including FC, and I love it
You go to so many games you were bound to see a dull match eventually. The film "Looking for Eric" features FCUM and a certain Eric Cantona. Liked the Aussie bloke. I wonder if there are league clubs around which are the result of a split or protest.
Can u pls go and watch a south shield fc game pls love the videos
Have you not tried afc Liverpool or the city of Liverpool Sam got 2 to pick from
Another good one is Warrington V FC United and South Shields V FC United
It's incredible when you think about fans setting up protest clubs and making them successful as well on a low budget. You can't help, but take your hat off to them for the success they've achieved.
Biggest example being afc Wimbledon, made it all the way to league one
@@Wilkins1933 Down to league 2 now
Yep
They haven't achieved anything, they are a tiny non league team that will go bankrupt in less than 10 years
@@Pvrge. they were a premier league team before the franchise took over, and it says a lot about their fan base that they had enough passion to start up their club again and bring it from div 9 to div 3 in 10 years, imagine if it happened to your club
The AFC Wimbledon story is even more important, taking a club from its home city to another against the will of the fans. They made it back into the league and long may they continue to inspire other clubs who have fallen out like Bury.
Not only that they built a ground on a prime London location
At least the likes of Bury and Macclesfield have returned and are climbing up the system
AFC Wimbledon were integral in helping set up FC United too. Lots of advice on how to make it work etc, and the two clubs have a great relationship.
Its no longer a protest, its a club in its own right. If the Glazers sold up/walked away FCUM would still exist.
I guess it's not only about the Glazers, it's about modern football in general as well, and FCUM is giving the longtime ManUtd fans and all Mancunians who dislike today's top-flight football an opportunity to meet like-minded people and to have a good time at Broadhurst Park.
They are barely even a club, just some tiny insignificant non league team
@@Pvrge. from 10th tier to 7th it's a long grind
@@Pvrge. Most casual take ever lmao, non-league fans have more love for their clubs than your parents have for you
@@tyIenoI If you enjoy wasting your time watching part time plumbers play football it's your problem
How has this guy not got more subscribers, he puts so much effort into his videos, people need to get behind this guy more
Legend Joe, thanks for the kind words. I’ll keep pumping out the videos and hopefully we’ll pick a few more subs up along the way 🙂
@@FootyAdventures well if I’m not mistaken your a Buckinghamshire lad as well and we got to stick together
Met him last night in person and a top bloke. Down the earth guy. ⚽⚽⚽
Well said mate.
On the whole, Sam gets huge respect up here in Scotland.
Some detractors, as you’d expect, but, those aside, he does a sterling job, and deserves credit.
It’s no easy task covering both the Glasgow teams, and not get flak from some quarters.
I'm a liverpoll fan with an afc wimbledon season ticket
this badge is your badge
this badge is my badge
three stripes and three sails
oh what a fine badge..
There is something very punk rock if you like about saying "we're not happy with the status quo at our club, so we're going to create one of our own entirely from scratch." You might not have the glitz and glamour of the Premier League but you definitely have the sense of accomplishment of building something with your own hands, against the odds.
FC United of Manchester played my club Detroit City FC in a friendly a few years ago. Great game 3-3! Wishing them all the best!
We (1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig) played against United of Manchester on May 12th, 2006. The game, in the Bruno Plache Stadium, ended 4:4.
Whilst I'm not an MUFC fan I go sometimes to FC. It's a wonderful community club with a good ethos, good atmosphere and an affordable and great day out. I do wonder what would happened if Big United got a decent owner? How much would that affect FC? I think to grow it may have to develop to attract fans who may not ever identify as MUFC fans? I think there are FC fans who have never been MUFC fan but admire the ethos and values of the club.
maybe they could be a place to train the youngsters or post injury players? i think it might be can function like B team in spain
You cant be an fc united fan if you dont have some sort of love for MUFC. The club is born from the heart of passionate man united supporters who still watch united
I had the chance to visit the club in 2019. I was a journalist back then and I was actually invited by Man United to cover the derby. I spent five days in Manchester and visiting FCUM was the best experience. I was welcomed with such warmth and open arms. I wasn't treated as a person you do business with. I was treated as a friend.
They played at my local club (Belper) a few weeks ago and I found myself talking to one of their board. Good club and fans. They bought a lot down on a Tuesday night (and won 😢). Non league is a great experience.
Going to away matches on a coach with the players, and celebrating a win with them in the way back.
Premier League is great for TV, but I can't see myself going to "big" football in person again.
Great to see you visit FC! They’re a club I’ve filmed at a couple of times recently and they’ve always been super friendly and hospitable with me. Let me know if you’re ever vlogging a game at another Non League Club up North and I’d be happy to come along and feature on the channel again!
Robbie, it was an absolute privilege mate. Keep up the great work!
@@mickdevlin Thank you Mick! I’m sure I’ll be back at Broadhurst soon enough!
It’s got to the point where I feel so proud to say I go home, away and across Europe watching them ❤️
One of the best videos I've seen. From watching my first FC game at 8 weeks old to now going home and away everywhere at 14. It feels so cool that our family has a video about us. Thank you very much👍
2 United's but the soul is one, as the Busby Babes carry on!
I really like how you always interview the kids, must make them happy that they're going on camera and is always fun to listen to them.
Great that you showcased this club. Hats off to all those involved in the running of FC United of Manchester. Shows just what can be achieved when people put their minds to it!👏😁
Hundreds of non league clubs are at the heart of the local community
All the time I watch the videos about FCMU I'm drawn to giving up my season ticket and watch FCMU. I started watching United back in 1966. I want that feeling back.
Yea mate support.local!
FC Utds Stadium is built on a Old Cycle Speedway track !! I spent many hours falling off my bike on it. Part of the terracing was formerly part of Northwich Victoria's Dane Bank terrace until 9/10 years ago.
Love FC, went to a game last year, tremendous day out, good beer and friendly people. Gonna head to a couple during the world cup
Quality video! Seen them down at Newcastle Town in 2006 and a few times at Stafford Rangers in recent years, great atmosphere wherever they go, always wanted to tick the ground off my list and can't wait to do so 2nd to last game of the season! Also South Shields would be another fascinating club to visit from the same division, not a protest club but they're fan base is also huge for the level!
absolutely love your videos m8. this one was really special with the interviews of the history of the club.
respect for FCUM club, they've taken action rather than sit on their arses moaning. You'd hope that any MU supporter who has a grievance against the owners would go support this club couple of times a season
@Maradonaldinho thats wrong. Alot of fc fans still hold season tickets at old trafford and go to games. They sing united songs at FC matches, and anti city and Liverpool songs. They are the most passionate man united fans you will find. They just hate the glazers. Most of them still follow unitef
@Maradonaldinho if you guys really wanted to become a democratic club again and kick the glazers out you would stop showing up to matches but I think thats not what you guys want
Abandoning your club when times get hard is the very opposite of support.
@Maradonaldinho definitely not a Manc and have no clue about the city of Manchester
As always, Brilliant video! Seriously hope your subscriber numbers rise, love your content please keep doing what your doing! Legend
Glad RUclips recommended blessed me with this Channel. As a passionate Football Manager Fan this Club always had peaked my Interest.
Absolutely brilliant video, this guy should have 10 times the subscribers.
Keep up the good work pal!
I remember the birth of United of Manchester and I supported it but I confess that I forgot about them for a while now I fell guilty and I'll support and follow them more closely. Thank you for the amazing video!
Absolutely love your content, so enthusiastic and informative. I’m a life long fan of Cray Wanderers of the Isthmian Premier League. We are a “disputed” 2nd oldest club in the world but factually the oldest club in London. Currently in the process of building our own stadium after 22 years of ground sharing with Bromley FC. I’d love for you to do a video on our club, I’m
certain you’d enjoy it as much as it would definitely be worth it lol. Keep up the fantastic work. Hope to see you at Cray Wanderers soon
Good to see a fellow Cray Wanderers fan! Let's see us in the National League South next season :)
So fulham are the oldest pro club in London .
Love this content. These videos and the Scottish & Irish football are real football. Much better than the Premiership. One question I want to ask FC Utd fans is if the Glazers sell up will the same hunger and desire remain if they get owners who are more fan friendly? not that I think it will be the case, I think the new owners will be just as greedy. I loved the Aussie lad when he said "the vulgarity of the premiership".
Great video mate, lovely watching these.
Great video mate! I went to the game last night! Brilliant atmosphere at OT. Hopefully you blog a few Swansea games soon 🦢
Another great video, you should be on TV doing this mate, love the effort and production.....as for the ground I checked the other day I'm on 50 non league grounds......think I've just found my 51st , FCUM here I come.
I just love your videos! Great work!
Altrincham FC are a pretty cool club based in South Manchester, they hold the record for most FA Cup giant killings by a non league and they’ve also took Everton and Tottenham to a replay. Well worth checking out if you ever get chance!
Fantastic interview @thestart 👏 yer a dab'hawn at this video malarky, you've achieved so so much. Thanks for what you do , 😉.
My son in law designed the badge, was a season ticket holder at Man Utd but give up in 2005
So much respect for this channel! Porto Ultra here.
I'd love to see more videos at this level. I follow South Shields in the same division and we have seen massive progress in recent years, both on the pitch, up the divisions and the club and ground itself has been massively developed. regularly getting 2.5k fans to games
Yeah it's brilliant to see the growth of the lower leagues below Tier 6 let's hope it continues 😀
Very good video thanks to you Sam as it proves that football is really about the people and the community and if you got every person who has sincerity then all works out good hey
As a Newcastle fan who has suffered 15 years of non-investment, exploitation of loyalty and multiple relegations, I pine for the days when it was men from down the coal pits who made up the backbone of Northeast football at the highest level, even after the events of the past year and subsequent renaissance.
Times change, and unfortunately the corporate game has taken over. Getting a sovereign wealth fund from a certain oil rich Gulf state is an unfortunate reality for us to remain of the historical stature we're at and fanbase we have, notwithstanding the absence of success.
But I love grassroots football. That's why I love Gateshead and Spartans
Great video Sam really enjoy seeing non league teams and grounds in England and Scotland
Really liked this video for obvious reasons! Shame about the game but good to see you getting a look around
While the odds of it happening are pretty low, it would be cool if FC United of Manchester were to end up meeting Manchester United in the FA Cup. I know it would take a good run on FC United's side and a lucky draw, but it'd be a cool moment to see.
Gotta respect the die hard fans passion to not support the Glaser ownership. The abbreviation (FCUM) is almost like a snide way to say "f*ck 'em" to Man. United.😁
Wouldn’t go if it was at OT, not a penny more.
Great video!
I would just like to correct the fan talking about the Glazers putting money in the club. They have never invested ONE PENNY OF THEIR OWN MONEY! Whenever they "invest" in the club, it's basically releasing money generated by the club itself!
Glazers OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT!
Love Football, hate the money!
I was going too the Chelsea matches before Russianmoney. I Travel from sweden. Now i dont really care. Sad but true.
just stumbled on your profile and proper good content, lad. deffo subscribing, keep up the good work
Fair play to them, he’s 100% correct the money interests have taken away & are robbing the people who have built football, the working class.
Hello from Scotland 🏴
One of my favourite away grounds when Boston have played. Friendly fans. Super club .. it’s an awesome day out . 👍🏻👍🏻
There’s a brilliant video of FC fans constantly singing at Halifax.
Great use of anarchy in the uk.
I am not a MUFC fan at all; but the glazers have stolen some of soul of English football with their business model.
outstanding job mate, new sub from mexico wish i make it to work in english football one day, so much pasion
Great content! You have to admire their ethos even if you're not anyway affiliated to Manchester United. Unreal facilities for their level, massive fan base and should at least be in the league above but they're not, it's a decent day/evening there as an away fan, good beer and three points!
Love this, another great video!
UTT
another good one sam..i like the guy that commented about premier stadiums being souless thinking of going to see fc at some point..folks correct me if im wrong but didnt sky want to show a fc cup game a few years ago and fc told them no???
I'm a Millwall fan since 1973 but lived in Manchester for 12 years and witnessed the birth of this fantastic community team, and went along if and when I have time. I see them a few times annually and love it! My older daughters live nearby and love the team and everything it stands for. Real fans, real grass roots football, democratic values, where it's about friends, community, belonging, unlike everything that Glazer United stands for (and the mugs who support that nonsense). All power to FC United!
I’ve been to Broadhurst Park on 2 occasions, FCUoM is a smashing club with a football league standard ground.
Great content. Keep it up👍
Great video. Nice stadium.
We (1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig) played against United of Manchester on May 12th, 2006. The game, in the Bruno Plache Stadium, ended 4:4.
At 1:58 min, on the right side, you can see part of the pennant of my favorite home team, 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig.
7:08 Australia for a game? Fair.
Ive been a Manchester city fan of 40 years. Im exile Mancunian what lives in Scarborough now. My last City game was about 3 years ago. It was first game of the season v Norwich. We were reigning premier League champions, and the atmosphere was pitful. And 50 pound for the privilege. That was it for me. Sick of ludicrous ticket prices. Fed up sat with corporate and day trippers who only jumped on the football bandwagon after Euro 96. Fed up with silly kick off days and times to accommodate Sky and TNT sport's. It was done with an heavy heart and maybe living 100 odd miles away made the decision easier. But i stopped enjoying the match day going experience. Its not the game i grew up with going to Maine Road stood in the Kippax in the 80s and 90s even the early 00s. I watch none league Scarborough now!!!
i remember watching that game vs Benfica! all the best for FCUM!! 🦅🔴⚪
It was about time I saw a video on FC! Even though I am a United fan, the Glazers are not my cup of tea and I want them out as much as the next person.
Any chance of a go at AFC Liverpool? They have a similar background to FC United (to protest the American ownership of Liverpool FC, and also for fans who were priced out of the Premier League)
Absolutely cracking watch, I thought FC united had folded years ago and merged into Salford city. Great to see what they have become, look really well ran.
Salford have been bankrolled by ex Manchester United players. Very different to FCUM
Nice video mate!
The glazers didn’t buy Man Utd. They borrowed money against Utd thus putting the club in debt. At no time did they use their own money.
Love ur vids! I wish to go to a lot of differant clubs, instead of the team i Support, ur a inspiration of mine!
Just love those little lads....I was their age when I was in the Stretford End.
Hi i'm a west brom fan up here, if I turn up in yellow&green albion away top to cheer on the local team would that be a bit awkward or fully welcome?
The issue is corruption and oil clubs. Not the Glazers. They have spent a ridiculous amount of money for a non-oil club owner
It’s crazy to think that FC United have been around longer than some teenagers! Makes me feel old as I was a teenager when they formed 😫
Brilliant club are FC United
I did a football manager save with them last season
Really like the fact the fans of Manchester United coming together to create such a likeable club in protest against the Glazers taking over their club
A concept that seems so alien to many has brought so many together
👀
I'm a boro fan and I remember us getting man united away in the cup and tickets were £46. The next home game we had a banner that said "working class game" "stop football gr££d" so I hope fcum make the third round and we're able to get them
You should come to Scarborough for a game! Scarborough Athletic are currently in Vanarama National League North. Just got promoted from the league where FCUM are. A fan owned club as well with great atmosphere, lovely fans and just opened a huge bar! I would be able to show you around the ground at a game and maybe even get the chairman talk to you!
i'm in Oldham, watched your video on the latics yesterday, but actually live closer to this ground than Boundary Park, drove past yesterday. in fact im starting to realize im surrounded by football grounds.
Great vid ,mate , love how ordinary people ,can support a real football team again , GLAZIERS OUT ........
This guy deserves more subs
Really nice stadium impressed with it -fair play to everyone at fc united
Hot Vimto..... why....... good bit of football knoledge, keep up the good work and research.
Mufc played at Maine road mcfc for quite some time after the war due to bomb damage to OT
Crazy that this is on ur channel I live like 5 mins away from there😂
I love this motto (I won't say 'slogan' because that sounds like some sort of marketing), "Making friends, not millionaires". Just imagine them entering the EFL one day, maybe League Two or League One, a bit like AFC Wimbledon...followed by attendances of 5,000 or 10,000 in an expanded Broadhurst Park. This would be awesome. If you ask me, these two corporations from Manchester playing in the Premiership, run by billionaires from the US (the Glazers) or from the Middle East (City), don't deserve to be supported in any way. Aside from FC United, I've always preferred the clubs in the outskirts of Manchester such as Oldham Athletic or Stockport County, not least because of their home stadiums, Boundary Park and Edgeley Park, which are so lovely and still spread the charm of classic English (or British) football grounds. Best regards from Germany and all the best for FCUM.
I hope the players see the passion associated with Manchester United, hopefully someday we get to see FC United of Manchester vs Manchester United in an FA Cup Tie...would be something
Fantastic how the fans started up this club and with succes.
Nice and wow someone from Australia with a Dunk festival tshirt.
I'm gonna go to Manchester for the first time some time between january and april next year. I'm gonna plan the trip so I get to see both man utd and fc united.
I’d love a video on AFC Liverpool, a splinter club from Liverpool very much like FC United.
It's the cleverest acronym I've seen....FCUM.......fuck 'um. Love it, So Manchester.
Please come to Liversedge ground Clayborn, 2 back to back promotions to get into same league as FCUoM, we have them at home 27th Sept, we have great attendances for our level
14:32 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Nailed it again my son 👏
Great club, great idea, stadium is probably louder than the etihad for sure
Idk this even existed 🙄, thank you. I didn't know how to deal with the Glazers in ManU frustrations.
Quick read on this club and they seem to have it right 👍🏾.
tbh im a blue.. but have noticed FC Utd climb the leagues year after year.. there is just something about grassroots football, some people & fans there at FC utd have seen it from the beginning and to be where they are now is quite an achievement in the time they have been around !
Got to say grats & good luck..
As a Newcastle fan I can really respect this. Ashley was bad enough, but now that we're funded by the Saudi state, my love of the club and of football in general has really waned, as I find I can't put my enjoyment of the sport over my morals. More and more these days it feels like money and rampant capitalism is ruining everything I once enjoyed. Soulless is exactly the right word.
Missed opportunity to call it new trafford
you can tell it's really up north when they have hot vimto on the menu
I could of tried too get you a short interview with the manager Reno 👊🏼
The glazers should buy the club and shut it down
They should have called themselves Newton Heath and wore the green and gold
If more United fans joined FC then it would be amazing. Crowds of 5/ 6 k at Broadhurst would send a real message.
