Underrated was the Korean footballer Jisung "Three Lungs" Park. Not only he often shadowed the opposition's best wingers, he had a knack for scoring goals at the most critical times. Despite not being the starter on many games, he's a MU Legend.

I think he is great manager and I love him. I don't think he is the GOAT though and I think that there are too many variables to realistically choose a GOAT. I like what you had to say though and agree with your reasoning.

Jamie Simms who do you think is the goat

    • @jamiesimms7084
      @jamiesimms7084 4 года назад +9

      @@raj8294 Matt Busby.
I would say the best in order are Matt Busby, Alex Ferguson, Tele Santana, Jock Stien, Arrigo Sacchi, Rinus Michels, Johan Cruyff and Bill Shankley.
I picked those people in that order for various reasons, not just for achievements that are obvious.
Even though I chose those eight I'm not really happy saying this, as there are too many things to consider and too many great managers, too many great achievements, too many countries and too much time to include to get a true understanding of who is the best or GOAT.
For example Helenio Herrera, Brian Clough, Marcelo Bielsa and Ernst Happel could all be considered for various reasons.
There are endless possibilities from various scenarios for the many contexts that exist within football to genuinely know for sure who is the best football manager when you take all of these variables into account. If Alex Ferguson went to Chelsea instead of Mourinho and was told he could purchase any player he wanted as the funds are endless he might have tried to create something he had never done before and have a team that attacks continuously.
If someone said who is the best doctor in the world, ever. How would you even go about choosing such a thing. Also as I mentioned above, there are too many things to consider such as; what contribution does a manager who is viewed as influential actually offer, or does a manager contribute more in the background than is known in public, or is a manager's success largely down to the structure of the football club which includes strategies and techniques inherited from other people, or how much of a manager's success is due to being able to afford the best and most suitable players, or how did a football manager handle both setbacks and opportunities.
That's my take on things anyway if I'm being totally honest with myself

I know the 99 treble team is the most accomplished but I think the 2008 side had most skill. Vds was a world class keeper, vidic and Ferdinand was the best defensive partnership. Evra and brown worked tremendously hard at full back. Scholes and carrick absolutely controlled games in the middle of the park. Giggs bought experience and technique, Nani has all the flair in the world, park was an engine that could mark/press anyone for 90 mins. Hargreaves was very good wide midfielder. Then you had the best front 3 in British history. Tevez, Rooney and ronaldo could all rotate, play up top and on the wings. Tevez was a great pocher. Rooney was England’s golden boy and could play on the wing or though the middle. Finally ronaldo was simply extraordinary that year, he became the best in the world and scored pretty much every match.

At least 2009 for sure.

I can never forget the night United battered Arsenal in the Emirates on the 2nd leg of 2009 UCL Semifinal.
Cristiano Ronaldo made me fall in love with football, even I started to mimicking his style when I was young, before Guardiola's Barcelona arrived.
One thing for certain, this is one of the proper modern football teams which I like the most before Guardiola's 2008-2012 Barcelona, Pochettino's 2015-2018 Tottenham, Bielsa's Bilbao, Klopp's Dortmund and Liverpool (I just don't like the way they deal with Simeone's Atletico Madrid in 2020), Italy in EURO 2012, 2008-2013 Spain, Conte's 2016-2017 Chelsea, Simeone's Cholismo Atletico Madrid and Mourinho's 2009-2010 Internazionale. This wass also the team which introduced me on how to play modern football.
Unfortunately it took me about 5 years to recognize similarities of Busquets' and Carrick's role within the team which reintroduce me the Makelele role in the form of N'Golo Kante.
Tifo Football even said Mourinho's 2004-2007 Chelsea was one of the reasons why SAF able to create this wonderful Manchester United team with Carlos Queiroz on his side.
This 2006-2009 Manchester United could had gone for the Treble but yeah, FA Cup and The League Cup still had their magic.
By the way, I wonder if you can make videos about tactical evolutions and revolutions of national teams, especially teams in the East Asia since you mentioned Park Ji Sung in this video, one of South Korea's 1st Golden Generation players (sorta).

Would you consider doing an analysis on Liverpool 08-09 team. I know they didn't win any silverware but they are one of the of most tactically interesting teams of that time and one of the best teams to never win the title.
Had there not been the ownership and financial struggles of Hicks and Gillet, I believe there is a good chance that Liverpool team could have won the 2009-10 or 2010-11 title. They could have retained players such as Mascherano, Alonso, Arbeloa, and Torres while being able to add quality players such as Gareth Barry, a back-up for Torres, and a winger like A. Young. Also, Man Utd were significantly weakened during this time after losing CR7 and Tevez along with Chelsea winning the league w only 86 points (which was Liverpool's point tally in 08/09).

Great analysis but he started with very wrong information. Gerard Pique wasn't sold after the 2007 season. He was a member of the 2008 Champions league winning team and actually scored against Roma in a 1-1 group stage game in Rome. He was in suit in the final in Moscow and celebrated with the players on the pitch after we won against Chelsea. He was sold after we won the Champions league and won it again the very next year with Barcelona in 2009.

This squad was skilful while also having physical prowess. Nowadays, you very much as touch Martial or Rashford and down they go. Bruno is skilful okay but again no physical prowess. Park Ji Sung was our version of Messi. Ferdinand and Vidic were rock solid. They literally gave everything to the game. Now we have Maguire who doesn’t know what to do on the pitch and Wan Bissaka who essentially plays with just one foot, the left one doesn’t work. McTom, Ronaldo and may be Sancho are the only ones who can take on players physically. I love McTom’s aggression, he doesn’t hold back but he too needs to improve a lot. Ander Herrera was good too. The rest are sissies. The current team is more focused on their social bio, cars and appearance, flaunting new styles every week. If they can devote some time from all this to playing proper football there’s hope we can achieve something under the new manager. GGMU 🔴
