Omg you're beautiful! I know you are not used to seeing yourself with shorter hair but you have such beautiful thick hair and I love it! I just want to encourage you to show your natural hair at the length it is because it's beautiful 😍 I did a big chop and went natural it was the best decision I could have ever made for my hair I went through an awkward in between stage with length but I stuck with it and now I truly love my texture and length! I love your videos I can't wait for the next one!
Some don't realize how anxious cutting our hair makes us especially if we are DIY. Its getting better as you jeep cutting all that dead hair off. You will feel lighter and freer. You are an inspiration. There you are.
Thanks for watching ! Look out for future hair videos, in fact I have already recorded my latest hairstyle wearing Red hair ! If you are new Welcome! We hope you subscribe and join the family. I did the big chop myself a few months back.. the best thing I've ever done for my hair, so much easier to manage now. I wear at a lot of wigs and weave anyway. So much more convenient for me .. Habiba you have nice thick beautiful hair so it will grow back in no time..
Hi Habiba. It's very liberating to have short natural hair. It's so easy to manage. Don't rush to braid it so that you can enjoy the afro. You will love it. You are beautiful!
I went through a similar situation a few years ago ✨did a big chop cut off all that damage hair from decades of perm and don’t regret a thing✨✨you are awesome Habiba 👌🏽
I just did my big chop today and have about the same amount of growth as you and I feel so different because I've never had short hair in my life. I was only relaxed for 2 years and decided to go back natural. It's different but I have to remind myself that its just hair and it will grow back.
You’ll be fine. You’ll get used to it. I had long loc hair since 1995 and just cut to a ‘Fro a couple of months ago. I had to get used to it. It’s great and easier to manage. You’re hair looks good to me. Yeah the family has to get used to it.
Habiba congratulations on your journey to healthy hair. I also did a similar chop and have been wearing protective styles. You have lovely features and can pull off any hair style long or short. Looking forward to seeing the new looks!
I love it Habiba. You will feel liberated. I did a big chop 2 years ago because my ends were terrible. During the cutting I felt emotional because like you I had type 4 long thick hair. I stopped relaxing my hair in 2013. Now my hair now is shoulder length again. But soon I will cutting my hair again. You can do twist outs. Or do chunky braids.
Greeting, I know exactly how you are feeling I went through that in June. I struggled back and forth to go natural and get rid of the perm. Finally I did it and cut it off. I felt free I have my days but my hair is healthy. I love your hair congratulations. Sending blessing to you and your family.
Big chopped 22inches from my head in 2020 (left with 2inches.) I'm back to mid back length in 2022. This crap grows fast but it damages from brushing and ponytail sooo easily. (I recently tried to trim my own hair, so now I have stairs in the back of my head, but we don't need to talk about that. 😭)
You looking beautiful. I relaxed my hair years ago and it broke off. I shaved all my hair off and haven't regretted it one bit. I've shaved it since then, all natural😉
I cut of my relaxed hair back in June of this year. I got a curl at the age of 10 and wore it until I turned 17. From there, I went to a relaxer, which I wore for years. I too, got tired of the two textures of hair. I suffer with dandruff and itchy scalp so it just seems easier to wash and take care of it in its shorter state. It did take me a couple of weeks to get use to it.
Congrats on the big chop!!! Greatest decision I ever made. It's been about 10 years now and I cant believe I used that creamy crack for as long as I did!
I went natural in 1996 and never looked back. I had began to really hate processing my hair but I I didn't know how to care for and style my natural hair. It was due to be re-done and I didn't want to so I had it cut off extremely low because there was barely any new growth. I never regretted it. Also the first time I ever had my hair processed was at 17 when I started earning my own money. My mother said she was not 'wasting' any money on processing hair. Lol.
Hi dear love the video. I read some of the comments and I agree with them our hair is BEAUTIFULL natural and we can change it up however and whenever we want 💖. Love your natural hair. My hair is natural for many years and I just crochet braid it myself recently for the first time like you I had fun 😃. The look on Kenton' s face 'Lord what dis woman do' just what my husband would say 😁😙 I love it. See you soon with the duds 😍
Hello. Funny fact I just cut off my hair. It was down my back. I think my hubby left to have a meltdown then returned cool, calm and collected. Kenton's response was hilarious. God bless.
You are going to have to look at the natural hair youtubers to find out what products you can use to bring out the natural curl. One of your commenters said there are other styles like twist outs etc. I wear my hair long and natural now. However I had a very short afro for about 25 years. I sort of got tired of it and let it grow when I retired. Long hair is more trouble. When it was short it was wash and go.
Beautiful dark hair you have. I relaxed my hair in 2018 after years of having natural hair. I had to cut off the relaxed hair last year December. I am natural again and I like it.
Yes like you I have been natural before even though it was only for 3 years. I think starting a new hair journey will allow me to appreciate my hair even more. A part of self acceptance.
I love ❤️ it . Natural hair is bomb 💣you are gorgeous rock that fro and with your make up done I bet you look fabulous because you have a beautiful smile.
I must admit I am indifferent to the short hair - it’s just short hair. 😊 I understand your trepidation though. I haven’t relaxed my hair in 20 plus years, the one and only time I did relax I had an awful reaction to the chemicals. 🥴 I just press my hair if I want ‘that’ look. 💜
I did my big chop over five years ago and never looked back I just cornrowed it for a small break from nightly twisting you have thick lustrous beautiful hair it will grow back fast you always look great with your natural hair.

Good morning from Miami . Doc it’s beautiful, your are beautiful natural is the best way. I cut off my hair about 20 years & it’s all natural, my biggest joy was when it started changing more to the silver side of course when I was about 10yrs I started showing signs of gray so my mom coloured it lol 😂 & of course that when on into my adult life , so 5 years ago when I just cud not take the colour anymore I walked into the barbershop & told him cut it completely off & let me see , I loved what I saw beautiful bold natural silver head mature Queen. God had grant me my wish & dream to be silver , with that being said do enjoy your natural & beautiful hair Queen.
Hi Habiba, u left Kenton speechless 🙊 😍...he's usually a man of many words 🤔 I guess it's like Miriam say it is what it is 🤗. It will be fine it will take some getting use to. I did the big chop many times years ago & last year I had to chop it again for medical reasons. It's all grown back now, I used Alo Vera before each wash. I usually double twist my hair for a couple days & then untwist, it's curly & wear like that...I really like my natural hair 👍🏽👏🏽👐🏽. If u add a head band/scarf 👌.

Ooooh YAY YAY YAAAAAAAAY!!! I was sitting at home screaming at your video back then, “Habiba, don’t perm your beautiful hair!” You didn’t hear me, though 😂. Your hair is so beautiful natural. It’s full which is what women desire, and the texture allows you to wear styles that women have to add pieces to get. Congratulations, and welcome baaaaaaack. Now we can see more of your dimples ✊🏽🖤
Today I just happened to come across your video. It was so funny. I am 9 months into my transition and I am deciding whether to cut off my relaxed ends. My texture is 4c and you may be that or 4b I’m not sure but I have about 6 inches of relaxed hair and I am wearing buns and updos because if I let this stuff loose it will be a big puff. I Don’t like wearing cornrows or braids. I like wearing my hair down and straight but I decided to stop relaxing since the cancer awareness has come to the forefront again although I have known about it for years. But 7 months ago my younger sister passed away with cancer suddenly so that got my attention. Not saying she got it from relaxing but it got my attention. My hair doesn’t have any kind of loose curl so I will be “Kunta Kentae” but, I can always change my mind and go back but I am willing to try some of the products that are available for styling natural hair. Your natural hair is beautiful and you have enough to style it many ways, so go for it. Thanks for the video it has given me courage to press on because my hair is past my shoulders and I worked hard to get the length by learning how to care for it while relaxed. But it’s, hair, and hair will grow back. And btw I’m 72 with salt and pepper hair so that’s another story altogether..
You look cute with your short hair, most of Nigeria women don't have long hair as you do have it,is just like you are not use to it daz way you feel some how different 😀😀love you always 💞💖💞👍
Glad you’re happy with it Habiba. Beautiful natural hair. I had a good laugh at your husbands reaction though. Maryam: “cute lil fro...”. Kenton: 👁 👄 👁 It reminded me of a video you and him did where one viewer asked the secret to a good marriage and Kenton responded saying something to the effect of when your wife asks if you like her hair style no matter how crazy she looks just stare off into the distance and take yourself to a happy place 🤣🤣🤣Kenton’s a mess. ✨
