I went against a pig that sent us to rpd with the video tape add on while she stealthed around and ambushed us. 4k at 4 gens, I was about to dc as well😂not to mention she brought noed in case we made it to endgame

I remember my first matches with trickster, I got a down with my knives but I couldn't pick up the body. I was like wow my first match with my new killer and i got a bug that wouldn't fix itself. So I just quit. Got into the next game...the bug was still there! I was pissed! Just rage quit immediately . I think I went from rank 9 to 17 before I figured out you gotta equip your bat to pick up. Mistakes were made.
I ran insidious on pig and wraith because I thought their powers didn't mute their terror radius and for some reason using their ablities counted as standing still (because using the stealth ablity before undetectable was a status effect caused insidious to light up like you stood still) so I played like 20 games before I found out pigs terror radius got muted just by crouching
Hey Otz, just a heads-up, the audio volume on this video and your "Mr. Nice Guy" video is much, much lower than your others. I had to turn my volume up 2x to be able to properly hear. It can be annoying if we forget that we've got our volume up and an ad or go to another video and have our ears blown out. Hopefully it's just a fluke thing, love your content!

That Mikaela in the first game (Trapper) did a big move haha -- she understood that there is no way she is escaping you and tried to not give you stack for STBFL running to the locker so you can only grab her. ...maybe. She could have just panicked.
I don't know if I'm tripping balls or something but I'm sure I've seen Otz get the undying value with huntress a long time ago with the same dialog etc but without the scourge hook
I was wondering. For the legion build, why "I'm all ears" instead of Hex: Retribution? I get that "I'm all ears" is more likely to trigger when you need it, but considering your other perks, Hex: Retribution could get a lot more value out of itself. With pentimento in use it has the chance to trigger 5 times in a single match! Not to mention its ability to make a player oblivious each time they are touching the totems.
Legion is a very basic M1 killer, so perks that let him gain the edge in chase are more useful overall. On top of that, Pentimento's strongest trait only requires 1 totem, and once you start chasing to have all 5 up, you're losing a lot of pressure to the survivors. Not to mention that Retribution is in the hands of the survivors, ultimately. I'm All Ears will always go off, and that consistency is better for Legion. While it's unlikely, there is always a chance that Survivors never cleanse or bless Hex totems, and in that case, Retribution is a dead perk. It fits fine with the other perks on the build, but doesn't help Legion as much I'm All Ears, imo

I think a good "Next Step" for this DbD scientific hypothesis, is to get a dedicated SWF that are on Comms, and do KYF with every killer and everyone can be as sweaty as possible. That way we can have a controlled environment for these tests.

I run what I like to call the "Classic DBD experience" build for all killers. Bamboozle. Franklin's demise. Lightborn. Iron Grasp. no bully squads or constant looping. This forces the survivors to just go into a normal chase with you without getting you stuck at one pallet loop the whole time.
The Wraith match with Steve made me think of something--what if perks/add-ons affected your MMR? So stronger things add a certain amount to your MMR, some things decrease it slightly (no item, addons like bubba's limiter or nurse's comb, no mither etc.) Being in a SWF adds a small multipler--it's not perfect but it caters to the fact that what you bring has a strong effect on if you'll "win" or not, and the devs can just base the figures on win rates with these things equipped so it caters to their desire to base everything on "stats".
My thought is that every time a totem is booned, the next time someone boons it, it takes 8 seconds longer than the last time, also if a hex is booned and the boon is snuffed out, the hex returns (also of you should get stacks while that hex is booned, it doesn't notify you, but you do get stacks)
The first part sounds good but the second one it is a mistake,because it would make hexes really powerfull and BHVR would rather nerf the hexes than revert the change lol
@@IndraTheSilent The point is 1: hexes are supposed to be incredibly powerful until survivors remove them, that's why survivors can remove them, and I'd argue that the hexes just disappearing outright was a mistake that essentially just removes the cleanse option; why break the totem when for a few extra seconds you remove the hex and make it harder for the killer to get kills 2: without the hexes returning, then instead of cleansing the totem when it takes too long to boon, they'll just leave the totem so pentimento remains unlikely to do anything against teams with boons
@@etourdie Hexes are a high risk- high reward perk, it would not be bad if they remove the hex by booning if only BHVR just made boons just as risky as hexes because their strong point right now is "Haha healing go brrr" indefinetely. Just add a one time use on boons(like a hex) or something and they are gonna be somewhat balanced.
As a Doctor Main, the fastest downs I’ve gotten are before the match really ever starts. Sometimes unlucky survivors spawn near you and with whispers you blast, locate, see them cause it’s a daytime map like farm, lunge and hit, use some shortcuts and down before survivors really catch an idea of gens. And I tend to make my terror radius larger with distressing, so it scares survivors off gens a bit, especially beginners
I think on the spirit game they weren't throwing when they were all in front of the hook. It was a party of altruistic survivors. Guarantee you if they landed the flashlight blind the Feng would've backed up hoping the killer misses, the killer comes back from being blinded and chases one of the two people there, and the last guy hiding gets the save. It's all the survivors together at once but when teams feel confident they'll make greedy plays. Edit: keep in mind they both had flashlights so if the killer gets the Feng and forgets about the other guy there's a chance of a save while the hiding person is unhooking.
Is it just me but I feel like the volume of this video is incredibly low. I can't tell if it's a problem on my end or not, do you guys have this problem too?
I've only watched the myers game so far- but yeah. I never considered the way I was playing and why I was losing games with SBMM. I was being TOO nice! My usual build is the other set of perks you had in the last video. At the very least, BBQ and Pop. May take Brute strength or enduring. So yeah boring conventional. Would go out of my way to find other survivors. Those games were more fun. Map and gen pressure. One of my favourite games was juggling survivors as Cenobite with the gift of pain & blood echo (add ons Original Pain and Greasy lens?) . There was a TTV too which can give me anxiety. Anyway, everyone had fun and there was even some endearing end game antics as I let the last survivor go. I rarely see games like that anymore. Most survivors are just outright rude and want to get that reaction I find. Or maybe this garbage SBMM value I have attracts people to it. Anyway rang a bell. Do I enjoy playing sweaty and bringing the meanest builds and playing dirty? Not at all. I sometimes feel it's a dark mindset I fall into that evening if I have had one too sweatfests from survivor teams. Thanks for doing these videos. It does put things into perspective!!!
As a Michael main, my sweatiest build is devour hope, undying, haunted grounds and retribution, with both memorial add ons. Trust me this build is a nightmare, you either expose them with devour hope, your tier three or haunted grounds all while retribution is active.
I'm glad that when you got to Pig the addons were Rule Set no2 and the tape. Its such a risky build considering you can get players who just ignore the gens and try for getting the traps off immediately, but Ive had a match where its actually caused a ton of stress.
I played against a scratched mirror Myers on Lery's yesterday that had Third Seal and Sloppy and please for the love of God nobody do a full status effect build. It is so anti fun

Not sure if anyone explained what the dude said after the Ghostface game. That was german and "Fühl ich" basically means "I can get behind that" or "I understand that" so he was actually giving props and appreciated the build - it's kind of a slang that came up in the past years
Otz is too good at the mindgames i wanna get better at killer for sure. Also from what ive learned watching this almost nobody uses for the people my favorite perk. Lmao
2:16:25 I think if they wanted to balance Redhead’s Pinky Finger, then it needs to limit the amount of bottle clown can have or significantly increase his bottle reload time (decrease reload speed). Right now, it’s similar to pre-need Huntress Iridescent Head, where she could afford to throw hatchets more often at less risk. Post-nerf, Huntress has to make every hatchet count, since she has to reload after each one. I think pinky finger should hard limit Clown to 3 bottles. 1 is far too few, since people could just hold W and you would take far too long to catch up having to reload after each bottle. 2 is also probably too weak for the same reason. 3 seems decent, so you could potentially use a couple of bottles for catch-up and then one to insta-down them. That would ideally prevent the low-skill needed to just point blank chuck bottles at people. Not saying Otz is low skill, of course, but you can see where he throws 3-4 bottles at them point blank multiple times. If you only had 1-2 remaining by the time you caught up to the survivor, and 3 at max, then you have to be more accurate.
That Steve was very definitely not a cheater at all during that wraith game. He got in the far left locker, you checked the middle locker, then he got out and was standing on the hatch when you dropped down.
Sorry, but NO ONE OTHER than Otz is so devoted to delivering these actual constructive and helpful build tips and techniques how to play the killers in a way that you can get the full potential out of them ON ALMOST ANY MAP AS WELL !! Love you Otz for making DBD feel like so much more than it actually appears to be ❤
“I used the sweatiest build” = I used Ruin/Pentimento/Devour Hope/TotH on every M1 killer I actually liked seeing how different killers play with similar perks, especially with strong add-ons, but it does go to show how strong that perk combo is.
It's not very good if the survivors go totem hunting. Full hex builds are very good against nooby players but God tier players could easily beat this. That's why if I ever run hex perks, I run only one one the entire build.
Survivor is much less stressful, I just got to rank 1 killer and it’s been horribly sweaty full of toxic SWF bully squads , yet I’ve got to rank 3 as survivor much quicker than I did as killer and only been face camped/tunnelled a handful of times

I'm not high MMR as I play kind of altruistic and often die to let my teammates leave or go for risky saves, but even with bad visibly annoyed killers camping is not a huge issue. Like happens 1-2 times in every 20 of my games. Maybe its different between regions, I play in EU.
hey otz, what made you do this round of experiments with different sets of "sweaty" perks, but with the friendly build you had one build for all killers? no consensus on a sweaty build for all killers? or just choose a build for the most sweaty playstyle catering to the power?
He made a video a while back about the state of killers in the meta. He did three experiments, using sweaty builds, playing Killer "very fair' and literally AFKing with no perks. He just decided to upload the three experiments in their entirety
@@Apollosun97 yeye i know about the experiment, i just found it interesting how there is a fixed build for being nice but the sweaty build changes for all killers i would have imagined for a standard test the perks would stay consistent, but i guess the goal here is to get the strongest possible situation a killer can be, which is still interesting
@@Arthur-it4sd Yeah it really depends in the killer. Trapper, for example, relies on delaying to late game and his M1, so SBFL and corrupt intervention are perfect for him. Nurse, on the other hand, is really good at pressuring gens and downing, so Ruin + undying makes sure they get no progress on gens.

I was wondering. For the legion build, why "I'm all ears" instead of Hex: Retribution?
I get that "I'm all ears" is more likely to trigger when you need it, but considering your other perks, Hex: Retribution could get a lot more value out of itself. With pentimento in use it has the chance to trigger 5 times in a single match! Not to mention its ability to make a player oblivious each time they are touching the totems.
Legion is a very basic M1 killer, so perks that let him gain the edge in chase are more useful overall. On top of that, Pentimento's strongest trait only requires 1 totem, and once you start chasing to have all 5 up, you're losing a lot of pressure to the survivors. Not to mention that Retribution is in the hands of the survivors, ultimately. I'm All Ears will always go off, and that consistency is better for Legion. While it's unlikely, there is always a chance that Survivors never cleanse or bless Hex totems, and in that case, Retribution is a dead perk. It fits fine with the other perks on the build, but doesn't help Legion as much I'm All Ears, imo
That undying value in the huntress game made me smile, and yes rolling a nat 1 is the stuff that can make picking a fight with a snail deadly 😂

The oni match is a perfect example of why I don't play dbd much anymore I don't like playing a videogame to have fun but ending up being stressed.

I run what I like to call the "Classic DBD experience" build for all killers.
Bamboozle.
Franklin's demise.
Lightborn.
Iron Grasp.
no bully squads or constant looping. This forces the survivors to just go into a normal chase with you without getting you stuck at one pallet loop the whole time.

The Wraith match with Steve made me think of something--what if perks/add-ons affected your MMR? So stronger things add a certain amount to your MMR, some things decrease it slightly (no item, addons like bubba's limiter or nurse's comb, no mither etc.) Being in a SWF adds a small multipler--it's not perfect but it caters to the fact that what you bring has a strong effect on if you'll "win" or not, and the devs can just base the figures on win rates with these things equipped so it caters to their desire to base everything on "stats".
My thought is that every time a totem is booned, the next time someone boons it, it takes 8 seconds longer than the last time, also if a hex is booned and the boon is snuffed out, the hex returns (also of you should get stacks while that hex is booned, it doesn't notify you, but you do get stacks)
The first part sounds good but the second one it is a mistake,because it would make hexes really powerfull and BHVR would rather nerf the hexes than revert the change lol
@@IndraTheSilent The point is 1: hexes are supposed to be incredibly powerful until survivors remove them, that's why survivors can remove them, and I'd argue that the hexes just disappearing outright was a mistake that essentially just removes the cleanse option; why break the totem when for a few extra seconds you remove the hex and make it harder for the killer to get kills
2: without the hexes returning, then instead of cleansing the totem when it takes too long to boon, they'll just leave the totem so pentimento remains unlikely to do anything against teams with boons
@@etourdie Hexes are a high risk- high reward perk, it would not be bad if they remove the hex by booning if only BHVR just made boons just as risky as hexes because their strong point right now is "Haha healing go brrr" indefinetely. Just add a one time use on boons(like a hex) or something and they are gonna be somewhat balanced.
As a Doctor Main, the fastest downs I’ve gotten are before the match really ever starts. Sometimes unlucky survivors spawn near you and with whispers you blast, locate, see them cause it’s a daytime map like farm, lunge and hit, use some shortcuts and down before survivors really catch an idea of gens. And I tend to make my terror radius larger with distressing, so it scares survivors off gens a bit, especially beginners
I think on the spirit game they weren't throwing when they were all in front of the hook. It was a party of altruistic survivors. Guarantee you if they landed the flashlight blind the Feng would've backed up hoping the killer misses, the killer comes back from being blinded and chases one of the two people there, and the last guy hiding gets the save. It's all the survivors together at once but when teams feel confident they'll make greedy plays. Edit: keep in mind they both had flashlights so if the killer gets the Feng and forgets about the other guy there's a chance of a save while the hiding person is unhooking.
It's a pleasant surprise that there is a lack of salt from the survivor side really appreciate the chill people

I've only watched the myers game so far- but yeah. I never considered the way I was playing and why I was losing games with SBMM. I was being TOO nice! My usual build is the other set of perks you had in the last video. At the very least, BBQ and Pop. May take Brute strength or enduring. So yeah boring conventional.
Would go out of my way to find other survivors.
Those games were more fun. Map and gen pressure. One of my favourite games was juggling survivors as Cenobite with the gift of pain & blood echo (add ons Original Pain and Greasy lens?) . There was a TTV too which can give me anxiety. Anyway, everyone had fun and there was even some endearing end game antics as I let the last survivor go.
I rarely see games like that anymore. Most survivors are just outright rude and want to get that reaction I find. Or maybe this garbage SBMM value I have attracts people to it.
Anyway rang a bell. Do I enjoy playing sweaty and bringing the meanest builds and playing dirty?
Not at all. I sometimes feel it's a dark mindset I fall into that evening if I have had one too sweatfests from survivor teams.

As a Michael main, my sweatiest build is devour hope, undying, haunted grounds and retribution, with both memorial add ons. Trust me this build is a nightmare, you either expose them with devour hope, your tier three or haunted grounds all while retribution is active.
There should be a stomp sound for killers on the totems. It's a bit annoying ish
I'm glad that when you got to Pig the addons were Rule Set no2 and the tape. Its such a risky build considering you can get players who just ignore the gens and try for getting the traps off immediately, but Ive had a match where its actually caused a ton of stress.
I would love to see a video using an all stacking status effect build. Where you just compound as many status effects as you can on Survivors.

Not sure if anyone explained what the dude said after the Ghostface game. That was german and "Fühl ich" basically means "I can get behind that" or "I understand that" so he was actually giving props and appreciated the build - it's kind of a slang that came up in the past years

2:16:25 I think if they wanted to balance Redhead’s Pinky Finger, then it needs to limit the amount of bottle clown can have or significantly increase his bottle reload time (decrease reload speed).
Right now, it’s similar to pre-need Huntress Iridescent Head, where she could afford to throw hatchets more often at less risk. Post-nerf, Huntress has to make every hatchet count, since she has to reload after each one.
I think pinky finger should hard limit Clown to 3 bottles. 1 is far too few, since people could just hold W and you would take far too long to catch up having to reload after each bottle. 2 is also probably too weak for the same reason. 3 seems decent, so you could potentially use a couple of bottles for catch-up and then one to insta-down them.
That would ideally prevent the low-skill needed to just point blank chuck bottles at people. Not saying Otz is low skill, of course, but you can see where he throws 3-4 bottles at them point blank multiple times. If you only had 1-2 remaining by the time you caught up to the survivor, and 3 at max, then you have to be more accurate.

I actually liked seeing how different killers play with similar perks, especially with strong add-ons, but it does go to show how strong that perk combo is.
It's not very good if the survivors go totem hunting.
Full hex builds are very good against nooby players but God tier players could easily beat this.
That's why if I ever run hex perks, I run only one one the entire build.

Survivor is much less stressful, I just got to rank 1 killer and it’s been horribly sweaty full of toxic SWF bully squads , yet I’ve got to rank 3 as survivor much quicker than I did as killer and only been face camped/tunnelled a handful of times

I'm not high MMR as I play kind of altruistic and often die to let my teammates leave or go for risky saves, but even with bad visibly annoyed killers camping is not a huge issue. Like happens 1-2 times in every 20 of my games. Maybe its different between regions, I play in EU.

He made a video a while back about the state of killers in the meta. He did three experiments, using sweaty builds, playing Killer "very fair' and literally AFKing with no perks. He just decided to upload the three experiments in their entirety

i would have imagined for a standard test the perks would stay consistent, but i guess the goal here is to get the strongest possible situation a killer can be, which is still interesting
@@Arthur-it4sd Yeah it really depends in the killer. Trapper, for example, relies on delaying to late game and his M1, so SBFL and corrupt intervention are perfect for him. Nurse, on the other hand, is really good at pressuring gens and downing, so Ruin + undying makes sure they get no progress on gens.
