I remember when my mom was like, "it's either the 3DS or glasses" so I got the blue/black 3DS when it came out on March 27, 2011 and couldn't see the board in class for months. Such good times.

There's something weirdly futuristic about old nintendo consoles. When I see the sp and ds light they seem brand new to me but when I look at the switch lite I legit think 2011.

Yes ! I think it's because retro is popular now so Nintendo made the switch lite look retro and at the time of the dsi the "futur" was popular so they made the dsi look futuristic x)

Out of all the consoles I had growing up, there’s something about handheld systems that I have the most memories on. Whether it be on long road trips with my family, or just me at a relative’s house being a big introvert, I’ll never forget my brother and cousin getting into a big fight and I missed the whole thing because I was playing Pokémon crystal xD it helped me to escape my reality and dive into my own little world. Thank you for this video!
Yess I can relate to that. I played more on a hand-held console than on my PS/Xbox consoles, heck even my gaming laptop! Even till now I'd be switching on my 3DS and Switch Lite, but mainly playing on 3DS as I modded it and got to play the games I wanted to play before hehr

If you’re a bit crafty you can get a Gameboy advance sp with a broken hinge for cheap and you can reshell it
Well. You can hack your psp and play gameboy advance games on ur psp. But not ds /3ds
@@theinceptor3672 a New 3DS XL to rule them all 😁. Seriously though a 3DS will be backward compatible to almost all Nintendo handheld generations (switch is the exception ofc) and classic system.

My cousin gave me her pink ds lite in 2011. Every time I turn it on I get hit with a wave of nostalgia. It's such a beautiful console. I'd love to get my hands on a gameboy too sometime.
I'd definitely recommend it, I grew up with one and the feeling of playing it now almost 20 years later hits home for me in the best way possible, they're amazing

In all seriousness, GBA SP was one of the best handheld consoles because of that small folding size and the screen resolution was such a huge jump from GBA. love these gaming nostalgia trips

Alcohol is perfectly fine for electronics. It's great for things like circuit boards too since it evaporates quickly and is ideal for cleaning.
Isopropyl alcohol 😂 i always go with 90% or higher.

@@Chonnie more for smartphone style touchscreens, but it should be perfectly fine for the stylus optimized touchscreens like on the DS

I remember when I first got my DS Lite for Christmas in 2009, I wanted a pink one SO bad, and my parents actually got me one, but it was used and didn't work properly (it would only stay on for a short time before turning off, even though it was fully charged). So we had to bring it back to GameStop, where they let us trade it for another, but they didn't have any other pinks, so I went with white. And to this day, I'm still not over it lolol

I bought a DSL last year as a present for myself, it's a console i really wanted as a kid and couldn't have, i can't really afford a Switch so i why not grant my childhood wish? It's my first console and first thing i ever bought with my own money so it has a special place in my heart. Seeing your little unboxing made me happy.

Yeey, I bought a 3ds and ds lite month ago and I'm in love with those, childhood again!!
Back when these handheld consoles were all the rage, I never got any of it. I just sat beside my classmates and watched, whenever they pull it out to play.
My parents couldn't afford one, so I managed to save up some money, but still, it wasn't enough. Did a lot of labor work in the market to earn some more, but my parents ended up using it to pay for my tuition.
I kinda let go of the idea that if I saved up a lot, I would be able to have one of these as a kid, and be able to enjoy what other kids are so happy and excited about.
My father noticed that, and bought me an MP4 device with an emulator of retro arcade games, which he mistakenly thought that it was a handheld console.
Still, it made me so happy. Even if it wasn't the real thing, I was enjoying it and played those games all day long.
I'm in college now, and I still don't have any of these handheld consoles. But seeing other people enjoy it brings a bit of nostalgia and happiness in my heart.
Thank you for reminding me of my childhood, in this dark, desperate times. Already subscribed, I hope your channel grows a lot more. More power 😊❤️

Damn, nostalgia I remember my dad getting me a gameboy as a present for getting good grades. I was so shit at the games, but spiderman was my jam. My dad would end up beating the levels for me and I would cheer like an idiot as if I did it myself.

Good luck finding a decent battery. They dont make them likw they used to. If you do, grab 2... just in case. I bought one from eBay and it didn't even last me a few months and died. Won't charge.

Authentic carts have 4 squares at the top left corner on the back, and the stickers have a imprinted number (if the back has gold dots it’s a fake) the cart should also be relatively see through

I bought a sp again back in 2017 for nostalgia reasons and it is still going strong and I still have my leather gba game case that can fit like 30 or so carts. And I have that full of many gba classics. I’m still always on the lookout for new games I never had or lost long ago. The gba is the perfect handheld.
