I’m assuming that thru hull fitting is marelon, otherwise it will degrade and eventually break. Also, is your flexible hosed some pedigree that has a no smell guarantee, 10 years is good, but even those will eventually smell. You may not notice it yourself, but your guests will. But I’m also assuming that all that angle support you used is stainless steel. I would also have a flexible fitting at the tank, try Fernco rubber fittings. Easy on, easy off, cheap so you can replace easily.
I do not have Fernco fittings on the tank - I will have to look into those - thanks for the tip !
Looking to completely instal a toilet that will last me 3-5 days inside a 22’ O’Day. Not sure how to go about this and you seem to be the only person so post something. But planning on doing a complete install would like some advice on how to go about this
Bradley Davis - if you don’t normally cruise in no-discharge zones I would go with a manual head hooked up to a Raritan marine sanitation device (either electroscan or Purasan) - that’s the most bang for the footprint as it takes up the least space and you can cruise indefinitely. Otherwise depending on your space you could use a composting head (which takes more space in the head) or a Raritan hold n treat with a 15gal tank (which has a bigger footprint but less height and you can spread the footprint around the boat). If none of these permanent solutions will work, there is always a porta-pottie which takes up little space but you do have to take it ashore to dump every few days.
Do you still recommend using the smooth sided connectors rather than those with the barbs?
For those places that are not under pressure I do - they are so much easier to remove when the hose has to be replaced than the barbed fittings!
I noticed you only used one band between the PVC and the hose to the deck fitting. Is that because of the lack of pressure?
J Christman - yes that is correct. It is never under pressure and is well above outside water level.

You could have spin welded any fitting you wanted right in place and everything would be bomb proof. At least you have good access so you can service it in the future. That vent hose is going to stink too.
