  • I am in a season where I feel like the military is winning and I and my feelings are losing. I don't have all the answers and I am unsure about the future.
I know my God is faithful, but sometimes I forget and it leads me down a path of uncertainty.
Military Fam...Have you guys ever experienced anything like this?

You are not alone girl! I've been crying my eyes out for a month now because of the unknown. I'm also a planner in life and for the first time God is reminding me who is in charge. I find the alone time to be a way of finding yourself again with the time apart. Stay strong and in the moment of weakness may God be with you. In times where you are apart, "May the Lord watch you and me when we are absent from one another. Genesis 31:49. And the verse I've been clinging on to "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34"❤️

Matthew 6:34 is my favorite! I have let that one go recently to the back of my mind, but God used you to remind me. Thanks for the encouragement 💕

This video is so relatable, Brit!! I go through all of these fears as well because my boyfriend is in the Air Force and is stationed in Japan while I'm here in Minnesota finishing school. He's going to be there until 2018, so the loneliness and the fear of the unknown often set in. But, I am a Christian as well, so I know that God always has a plan and I just need to trust that everything will be okay. Love love love all of your videos, thank you for posting!

Not a Christian, don't believe in the Christian god. However, I do believe there is a purpose for all that we experience, a lesson in every hardship, a reward/fulfillment for those who persevere. What keeps me grounded is a sense of connection to the world around me, my intention to make a positive impact in any way I can. You don't have to be of a particular faith to have this.

My husband is deployed for 12 months (sounds better than a year), he's been gone for almost 3 months now. I'm moving to our next base and will be alone. However, there's a difference between being alone and being lonely. I'm living with family right now but I am choosing to move to our next base by myself. I realized I need to continue my life and better myself. Living with family is great and all being surrounded by people but you can't put your whole life on hold during deployment. I totally understand the fear and anxiety you're going through more than you know. I am a Christian and I have found so many ways to manage all of this as best as I can. I'm praying for you! 💕

Something that really helps me in moments that I'm super anxious looking into the future & not knowing what's gonna happen, is when I think about those moments in the future i say "God will be with me then & there, with His help I can get through that. He has a plan for good!" it really helps me in the moment to calm down & focus on God & trust Him. I usually have to say it to myself a million times a day haha but I think everyone does. I'm totally praying for you Brittani & for your husband! you are so strong & God is going to do amazing things in this tough & scary time. Don't stop clinging to Him! :)

Its so hard going from always being with someone and always talking to them to absolutely no contact at all. I'm in college and it has been so hard to function. goodness girl you had me crying towards the end! haha I'm a christian too and my husband is about to leave for an overseas PCS that I won't be able to go with him for 12 to 14 months. Needless to say my heart is shattered. God's blessed us with NO deployments/PCSing in his first 3 years in, but now this will be our first encounter. I'm reading my bible more, I'm singing worship songs of peace all day, and still... I fear. I'm afraid of being alone, I'm afraid of what "could" happen and I'm letting my thoughts go crazy over something that has yet to happen. But I know, my God will be with me. I will never truly be alone... but it'll feel like it.

We aren't in the exact same situation but I'm currently, in California, while my fiancé is in boot camp and it has been a whirlwind of emotions since he left. I'm now getting a taste of what military spouse life is going to feel like once we get married and it does scare me. However, I always try to be as positive as I can be and think about how proud I am of him for going after his dreams/trying to give us a better future. Even though, I have my family, it is still difficult. I can only distract myself and lean on them so much before I have a break down and start crying because of how much I miss him. My true and only consolation has been God. I'm constantly praying for him and looking forward to when I am able to see him again. I will say that being at work helps out a lot!
Lastly, I can see how you would be scared of living on your own... I , too, watch a lot of CSI and Law & Order ... Therefore, I see where your anxiety and fear would stem from, but I say that you go for it and make friends with the girl who is living next door. My plans are to live on base with my fiancé once we are married and get stationed because it will help me to form relationships with others who are experiencing the same feelings I will be going through.

Thank you, Brit!

My boyfriend is in the Navy as well and I have no idea what our future will be. Its so nice to hear about someone's experiences and that i'm not the only one feeling these things. Although you are in a different situation because you are married and beginning deployments. My sailor is in South Carolina and I am in Ohio, so it is hard being away and without him now, I have no idea what I will do when he goes on deployments when we are married. I am grateful for your videos because I have a huge fear of the unknown and you are a few steps ahead of me so its really nice to see someone going through what I am preparing myself for. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

I have watched like 5 of your videos tonight and I cannot tell you how much you have saved my heart lol I struggle with anxiety and I absolutely love and trust the Lord AND I am in a dating relationship with an Army Lieutenant who is getting ready for deployment. I have struggled with so many of the things you have posted about already and I haven't had anyone to turn to that "gets it" and I hate putting it all on my boyfriend because I only desire to encourage him and make him feel less stressed. He has been so patient with me and so loving. SO SERIOUSLY thank you for your vulnerability! I no longer feel crazy haha and have some great advice on how to deal with military life!

Girl, I am so thankful for your videos. Thank you for setting my mind at ease and reminding me that God's got me. I struggle with anxiety and fear, and I often feel so lost with all the unanswered questions and before I know it I am a hot mess. I have just stumbled across this video and my hubby is deploying in about a month, so I was going back and forth between going home or staying here. I am just starting to feel established here, I joined a womens volleyball league, made a couple great friends and am getting to know the area. I am also from Texas and I also live in Washington, this is our first deployment and it has been stressful going through the motions. I decided to go home and spend time with family. We can save money, I wont have to spend the winter here haha, and I just get to spend time family.
Just want to say thanks again for being so open and relatable for not only the military wives, but for the woman out there that just don't really know what the heck to do. You are awesome!

My husband joined the air force back in march. We're getting stationed in New Mexico & we're from Cali. Ever since he joined I started having panic attacks. Now that the time is getting closer for the big move I've just been stressing and just crying, being away from home is something very new for me. I am very family oriented, and not a day goes by that I am alone. So moving and knowing half the time I will be alone scares the crap out of me. I will know absolutely no one, as you know. Lucky for my husband a few friends in tech school are also getting stationed where we are. I am a person that tries to ignore how I really feel. I just cannot deal with being nervous, scared and unsure about what will happen. I grew up as a seventh day adventist and for a long time I've stopped going to church and haven't studied the word of God or praised him. But these past few weeks he definately has been on my mind and I'm not sure how to get back to my roots. It's hard not knowing whats coming next. I started watching your videos and to be honest you're the only person I'm subscribed to. You've really helped me get through some things. You've also made me think about starting my own channel, we'll see. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this. Thank you, stay strong! (:

    • @BritCon2
      @BritCon2  7 лет назад +2

I can tell you I have felt exactly like that. I didn't and sometimes still don't like to address my emotions. Which usually ends up with my emotion blowing up and getting out of control. Something that I encourage you to do is just sit in peace and talk to God. Not even pray just talk. I think oftentimes we think we need to go to church, read the bible, etc... and we forget to have a relationship with Him. Spend time with him like he is your friend. He is ready to listen and already knows everything that is going on in your heart. Ask him to transform your worried heart into a calm and peace-filled one. The more you talk to him the more peace you will begin to have I promise! Praying for your heart and good luck if you start a channel! 💕

You are totally not alone. Now my situation is different because I am not married, but I do have a crush on one of my best guy friends who’s at Boot Camp for the Marines right now. And it kind of sucks because I don’t get to see him, but I am excited and happy for him. I hate being alone and especially not seeing the guy that I really really care about. And I am asking the Lord if this is the one guy that I will date or even marry, and if not that’s okay...but I just have to trust the Lord because he has a plan for me. But yeah I have stress and anxiety. I overthink things too much and it gets in the way of making relationships with people. And what you said about when you think about a week ago of why did I say that or I could’ve done this, I do the same exact thing!! You are so amazing and you have been helping me to grow and you give such great advice! I am also in college and I have been working to distract me or keep me busy! ❤️❤️

I understand all these fears. Thanks for reminding me of that bible verse. "What can mortal man do?". I'll be saying this to myself every time I'm anxious about something with someone. It's so true when thinking of eternity. When I'm upset/fearful in any way shape or form I play guitar and write a song or listen to VerseByVerse. An app with really good teachings from the bible.

I really relate to your video coz my boyfriend went on a six months deployment and we dont have a good communication, tho we have communication but not a good one coz of the poor signal at their area. But he really managed to call me text me and sometimes we do video call just to fill up the loneliness i feel in the inside. He knows what i feel and that is why he keeps on reminding me that he is okay and he loves me. Honestly it's really hard, like i cried at night thinking am i going to make it? So i just pray to God and ask for strength everyday to handle this kind of relationship. Luckily God is giving me the strength to face the day. Thank you for inspiring me :)

Hey girl! I just wanted to reach out to you to first of all say thank you! When my bf left for deployment I remember the advice you gave me and it helped me so so much. Secondly I wanted to say that you are very brave for putting your fears out there. What I've learned through my time away from him is that sometimes we have no choice but to be uncomfortable. I've grown a lot through his deployment. I've become stronger and more resilient. You are an incredible person and if people don't like you or appreciate you then it's their loss. Not everyone will like us or want to be our friend but remember all the people who do love you! No matter if you go home or stay, take this as an opportunity for yourself while he's gone! Hi Brit! I am a new military wife and share some of the same fears you do. My advice to you : 1. Don't beat yourself up because you are fearful/anxious. Like you said, you are human! 2. Re-watch some of your older videos. You are such a strong/ smart/genuine person and you really gave us (new military wives) great advice! Revisit how excited you were to get a job and re-visit the tips you gave new wives on finding a support system in a new town. 3. Look at his deployment as a time to build yourself up into an even better version of yourself. I didn't see boyfriend for 10 months when he was in basic training and AIT! Knowing that he was doing something so great for himself and our country gave me motivation to do my best at work and in college.
Sorry for the long comment! I just love your videos and think you are such a genuine person. I know you are a strong woman and that you can do anything through Christ. -God Bless

Hey Brit, my girlfriend has been in the Navy for 7 months.. maybe 8. I’m not Christian but how I cope with loneliness is I stay busy with work, plus I live with 3 roommates. There’s always video games and television 👍🏻
I don’t really have friends besides my best friend (one of my roommates) who I’ve known for 12 years. But he works nights I work days so we barely hang out.

Make the Chief's wife your mentor...ask her questions on how she handled the separations. Have your husband tell the chief that you are wondering if his wife wouldn't mind meeting with you and answering some questions. If she doesn't want to meet you, then move on. I can't help but think that she'd be flattered to help a young wife through her first separation. One way to deal with your loneliness is to fill your spare time volunteering to help others (elders, children, homeless, animal shelters)..that way you get the spotlight off you and on others.

Yes! Her husband actually told her about me before we met and now we have recently.. finally haha. I also do currently work and volunteer so that helps a lot, you are right. Thanks so much for your advice(:
