    Managing expectations and focusing on hobbies are definitely things that help me keep my sanity during this journey! Being self aware and not keeping things bottled up are definitely up on the list though! I think a lot of your tips point toward that too! Being a military wife you have to kind of step outside of yourself in order to maintain the situation, so having that internal awareness helps keep you from struggling and blowing up because you don't understand what you're feeling!

    THANK YOU FOR THIS! My husband has been on a long underway and I was struggling to keep my head up. It’s always so reassuring to know that I’m not the only one and that there’s ways to keep myself busy and to thrive on my own. I’m a new military wife and it’s hard being on the other side of the country from all my family. But I think the biggest thing that I struggle with is enjoying the loneliness. I work from home too so there’s only so much I can do to keep myself busy. After watching this video I’ve gained a new appreciation for the loneliness and have some ideas for how to continue to thrive on my own.

    Love all these suggestions! I am not a wife yet but am moving in with my coastie this May! I also love indulging in Ben & Jerry’s! My favorite ice cream flavor is Banana split and my go-to chocolate treat is açaí berries(dark chocolate covered blueberries) they are my weakness! And working out everyday by either walking my dogs or going out to the gym helps me relieve stress and yoga has really helped too! Keep up the great content! :)

    my boyfriend is in his first deployment now and when you start talking about how much you wanted to spend every second after he came to his underway I also realized how much my boyfriend and in your case your husband could be tired because they are working in between and my boyfriend also stressed out thinking in his deployment, I remembered myself before he deployed I did not listen sometimes because I was just thinking he will be out for seven months and that was just what I had in my mind and being able to handle every feeling and present time with actions its pretty crazy I lived and yes what worked to me was start doing more things as i normal do, being more busy as normal do to avoid overthinking and stuff because I was just thinking he is cheating or yes at the same time as you said we need to share our feelings and they are also person so I think they need someone to connect with and obviously you just want that person to be you. being a military wife has its challenges but yes you can handle everything and what you really need first is EXTRA LOVE and to know that person for what you going to sacrifice yourself he has you as a priority. I'm talking as a military girlfriend, I would like you share more story time before you got marry with him and with the things you might struggled BRIT, xoxo

    You're so right in saying that our happiness depends on us!! I focus on positive thinking and don't linger on the fact that things may not be going my way. I recently read "Feel the Fear & do it Anyway" by Susan Jeffers and a helpful quote was "Be aware of all the options you have during the course of a given day. Close your eyes and picture yourself happy about it, sad about it, outrageous, humorous, heavy, light... You will begin to see how easy it is to change your point of view." Also when my relationship with Christ is going well then I'm typically doing well!! And honestly I think that loneliness is the worse if you are completely dependent on your spouse and have no identity of your own. That's why getting out there and meeting people/getting hobbies is great because then you will have something of your own to fall back on and won't feel as broken apart when your spouse leaves.

    New military wife here! How do you guys plan vacations? I really want to take a vacation at the end of this year so how will I plan it? By the way my husband is at AIT and will be done in May

    • @BritCon2
      @BritCon2  6 лет назад

      Haha that one is a tough question. My husband puts his leave chit in as early as he can and then we start planning the details once it gets approved. Usually though they get Christmas leave or New years leave for two weeks so if is during then you should be good! So I would plan the timeline but not book until dates become more clear.
