Russ actually played decent 340 yards and a TD, a big toe away from 2 Td’s but anyone who actually watched the game could see about 500 penalties on the side of the broncos and poor coaching that should never be put on Russ I don’t care what anyone says
So now you judge Wilson by passing yards? He's never thrown that much his whole career, and he only touchdown came on a 60 yard underthrown ball that should have been picked off. This was an ugly duckling of a debut
Shannon needs to take his homer hat off for a second and give Geno some credit. Not everything was handed to him on blown coverages by Denver, he made some nice pre-snap reads and executed throws like a poised veteran QB. Not saying he’ll keep it up all year, but the man quarterbacked an impressive game last night.
True but you are 23-28 and only got 17 points with Denver handing you 7 first downs on penalties added in. Had Denver not handed Seatle the game Denver wins by 3 TDs. But a win is a win. There isn't a team in the NFL that would be unhappy with a win no matter how bad you played to get it. And Seatle's defense was horrible.
This is what’s crazy about the ravens, they have a higher chance than every other team to win in the clutch because they have a guy who can make 60+ yarders consistently
You never want to put that kind of pressure on any kicker to make miraculous kicks. Most kickers have only made a few kicks over 55 yards in their whole career. Kickers are missing 25 yards kicks so going for 64 yards is smart?
When they iced McManus and he went wide left I knew the game was lost. Poor first game from the coach. He had better learn from this one. I got Fangio vibes and I don't need that ptsd

What you saw in Russ is nothing new, only difference is he usually figures out a way to pull it off. Russ at times will look unstoppable and at times a whole bunch of three and outs
I've watched nearly every snap of Russ's career and I can't think of a single time he's done a QB sneak. Maybe one, but I don't think so. Also, he's never gotten a defense to jump offsides with his cadence.
What a joke and a disappointment that Hackett decided to run clock and kick a historically far field goal instead of trusting the 200+ million dollar QB who is on the all time list for game winning drives, to get 5 yards!! 🤯 The NFL was smart to booked this game as a Monday night revenge matchup. Ingrateful Seattle fans booed probably the best pro athlete that city has ever had. Pete Carroll clearly wanted to embarrass Russ.. and Hackett stole Russ' moment from him with terrible coaching. Seattle played fearless. Denver played scared. Simple as that. What a shame.
Also.. this another reason why the NBA is a better league and NBA players will always be more popular around the world than NFL players. NFL coaches hold the league and the players back by not allowing stars and team leaders put the team on their backs. There are some exceptions like Andy Reid. But NFL coaches are stuck in the dinosaur days with not trusting players to do what they do best! Even Tom Brady didn't have the respect he earned for Belichick to allow him to make certain decisions. In the NBA, guys like Giannis, Luka,Kawhi, Lebron, CP3, Jordan, Kobe, etc are allowed to do the elite sh+t that got their team to that point. But in the NFL, coached get in their players' way with conservative, "my way or the highway" coaching decisions
Not too long ago it was one Skip Bayless that said "you can't get fair value for a qb of Wilson's pedigree, and expect to get fair value back with players and draft picks. Players, draft pics 1 Russell Wilson 0. Interesting to see how this plays out long term.
I feel so bad for Hackett, as a Seahawks fan. I've seen this all before. You'll make every excuse for him. When you win or have success all anyone will be talking about is Russ, and he'll get all the credit. When he loses despite his performance it will be about anything else but Russel Wilson. GL Broncos, I sincerely hope you succeed so long as you're not playing us. Hopefully this was a one off.

So many undisciplined penalties, and terrible time management, somehow worse than Vic Fangio. The play clock was run down to 1 second (or delay of game) on almost every single snap. The Broncos didn't call a timeout in those situations until Russ called it on that 4th and 5, after running 30 seconds off the clock. Yet Hackett decided to finally use his timeouts when the game was already over 🙄 And Shannon is right. Javonte Williams is the starter. Period. No way he should get only 2 carries vs. Melvin Gordon's 9 in the 2nd half, especially after averaging over 8 YPC in the 1st half.
@@JoshSimpson47 $2.5M versus $2M, so it's the smallest of differences, not a Zeke-Tony Pollard salary distinction. Not enough of a reason to not play the better, younger RB who also has the hot hand.
Scoring in the red zone is way more important than simply moving the ball. Especially considering you may be playing defenses that let you get certain plays and not others.

You finally watched him play because he played for a team y’all like. This has been his MO for YEARS. Seattle may not have their best year this season but it will be fun to watch a team full of players that want to win, not just get credit.

He hyped everyone up to lose to Geno Smith. And Seattle didn't score any points in the second half.
Russ didn't play well? Skip and Shay Shay are hung over again. Denver had four lost fumbles, two in the red zone. Russ threw for 340 with no INT nor fumble. At least they were right about the rookie HC who bumbled the whole game.
Russ is a great player, he’s always kinda reminded me of a football Derek Jeter just a gamer. But when he was a dual threat qb the defense couldn’t game plan for him. Now he’s ALWAYS thinking him first over the team. You can see it in how he plays. He’s no longer a threat to run and as a strictly pocket passer he’s to slow making decisions. He hold the ball way too long and puts so much pressure on the O line to hold up forever. Plus Ciara has gassed his head up so much he’s borderline insufferable now.
I honestly agree with Skip. Russ was very difficult to watch and on 4th & 5, I wasn’t confident that he’d make it happen. He probably could’ve easily gotten it if he just used his legs and ran for it since he didn’t do that at all the entire game.
At the end of the game you have to give the ball to your stars and live with the results. It looks bad on Russ and bad on the coach and leaves every one wondering what would have happened. Unless he was doing it to protect Russ there is no reason to kick this extremely low percentage kick.
Yeah…. Geno played pretty bad honestly. I saw a few times at least where he should have been stepping up in pocket to avoid the rush and didn’t….. that’s not the offensive lines fault.
Russ IS Clutch. Empirical data matters when talking about these things. Russ has the 2nd most game winning drives in the NFL since 2012 behind only Matthew Stafford. He IS clutch, that is a statistical fact. He has the second most 4th quarter comebacks in the NFL the past 10 years. What does this say about Russ? Carroll put the ball in his hands and lost a SB. Hackett wouldn't put the ball in his hands. The real question for Russ coming out of Seattle has been "does he still have it?" There's been a lot of excuses made for Russ in Seattle and we've been told a change of scenery would do him good. Well he was solid last night, but with the game on the line he was pathetic. Wasn't it 3 drives to win the game from 17-13 and then 17-16 and he got a single FG. Russ actually played decent 340 yards and a TD, a big toe away from 2 Td’s but anyone who actually watched the game could see about 500 penalties on the side of the broncos and poor coaching that should never be put on Russ I don’t care what anyone says
It’s on Hackett
Exactly. THe refs owned the Broncos. Seahawks had a short field all night long.
Don’t blame the refs 💀 Broncos we’re undisciplined all night
Broncos had more benefits from laundry than the seahawks did, so that excuse is moot. In the end you payed 200+ million dollars for an irrelevant QB.
So now you judge Wilson by passing yards? He's never thrown that much his whole career, and he only touchdown came on a 60 yard underthrown ball that should have been picked off. This was an ugly duckling of a debut
With what they paying him and what they gave up idc If my QB was JaMarcus Russel he better go out there and throw that ball🤷🏾♂️😂
Lololol 😂😂😂
You can't pay a guy that kind of money and the game is on the line and kick. I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Yep. Geno had a better game than Wilson.

Broncos coaching staff is so trash. Some of the worst play calling and clock management I’ve seen in awhile. Games definitely not on Russ at all.

Why did they get rid of Patton last year??
My mind exploded when I heard Pete Carroll was 70 yrs old... Damn he looks younger

It's only week 1 and the Broncos should be playing better than THAT.
On Russ's side, the red zone execution was way off, granted the Seahawks came to play last night.
But to not go for it on 4th and 5 and try a 64 yard FG attempt???? Bruh

I've watched nearly every snap of Russ's career and I can't think of a single time he's done a QB sneak. Maybe one, but I don't think so. Also, he's never gotten a defense to jump offsides with his cadence.

What do you mean he didn't play well?? Did you watch the same game I watch? Did you see those two major fumbles?🤔
What a joke and a disappointment that Hackett decided to run clock and kick a historically far field goal instead of trusting the 200+ million dollar QB who is on the all time list for game winning drives, to get 5 yards!! 🤯
The NFL was smart to booked this game as a Monday night revenge matchup.
Let's Ride 🤣
Russ isn't even in the top 5 greatest as far as Seahawks players go
Also.. this another reason why the NBA is a better league and NBA players will always be more popular around the world than NFL players.
@@juultoo you can’t even name 5 players better than him, quit hating.

You don't pay $240,000,000 to Russ, and not let him cook!!!!
I feel so bad for Hackett, as a Seahawks fan. I've seen this all before. You'll make every excuse for him. When you win or have success all anyone will be talking about is Russ, and he'll get all the credit. When he loses despite his performance it will be about anything else but Russel Wilson. The narrative will always blame someone else. I'm curious to see how much patience a team he hasn't won a SB for has for him if things don't pan out though. GL Broncos, I sincerely hope you succeed so long as you're not playing us. Hopefully this was a one off.
Dont want to scratch your new car on the first game!! Haha
Except this year. We have their draft pick so we want them to lose as much as possible

SHANNON is right on this one - Hackett should have let Wilson play - and for a higher percent chance - than a ridiculously long field goal...
Yet Hackett decided to finally use his timeouts when the game was already over 🙄
And Shannon is right. Javonte Williams is the starter. Period. No way he should get only 2 carries vs. Melvin Gordon's 9 in the 2nd half, especially after averaging over 8 YPC in the 1st half.

Denver had almost 500 yards of offense, when red zone execution cleans up, they'll be very good.
Scoring in the red zone is way more important than simply moving the ball. Especially considering you may be playing defenses that let you get certain plays and not others.
We are not talking about this if we dont fumble on the 1 yard line twice score would of been 27 -17 game over.

Russ didn't play well? Skip and Shay Shay are hung over again. Denver had four lost fumbles, two in the red zone. Russ threw for 340 with no INT nor fumble. At least they were right about the rookie HC who bumbled the whole game.
Russ missed throws and he should’ve had an extra 2 picks with Jamal and Quandre Diggs on bad decisions
