We see Skip go crazy when it comes to the Cowboys because the Cowboys are always in the headlines. The Broncos haven't really been on the map in recent years, so we rarely get segments on them. But now with Russel Wilson playing for them, they are now more high profile. It's nice to see Shannon get to have some moments like this for the team he loves.

Every team's success has more to do with their HC than QB. Every team. Football is a team sport, HCs have far more influence over a team as a whole than QBs do. Poor/mediocre QB play can heavily hamper results, but a team's success will always be more indicative of the HC's quality than any single player.

I have watched every single Russell Wilson game as a Seahawk. Everything changed after the Buffalo game 2 years ago. He was lit up in that game and he has been running scared ever since. Believe it!
Didn't see that game but I recall how Cam in that SB got lit up so much that was the end... So I def believe it could be so.... The coach has to have the guts to bench Russ when need be...
Maybe just maybe, the protection was never the problem(including in Seattle), it was Russ not hitting open routes underneath(like to the TE’s that Geno has been using) and instead holding the ball too long looking for the big play, and leaving the pocket early - over and over and over and over again and again and again. Russ has went to Denver, and been sacked at a high rate, again.
The situation is easy to explain: 1. RW is a 5'10" QB, which is short for the league, specially when in front he has guys 4-7 inches taller than him and they have their arms raised. Because of this he doesnt have good visibility of some parts of the field. 2. Because of the lack of good visibility of some parts of the field, first he tries to find an open receiver in the areas of the field he has good visibility but if that doesn't happen, he tends to hold the ball for too long, there are moments and plays in which it is not easy for him to find some open players, unless they are way down the field where his visibility is better. (Reason why he connected a significant number of long passes) 3. Holding the ball for too long makes the OL collapse and in his younger years would ran outside of the pocket, which gave him better visibility of the field and then he was able to either complete a pass or run for a gain. He is the best or one of the best at throwing a pass while running sideways. 4. As he got older, he lost speed, he even gained some weight and he doesn't have the same reflexes he had in his 20s, additionally he was hit multiple times and the injury last year is making him think twice to run outside of the pocket. 5.Without running outside of the pocket he goes back to the same visibility problem, additionally he has never been a really good pocket QB. 6. For example a younger version of RW would have ran instead of throwing a pass in that interception in the 4th quarter and most likely he have made the 1st down and then the game was over. He could have also ran in that 4th and 1 in the OT, and even in the 4th and 5 in the week 1 in Seattle. But that didn't happen, Russ knows he doesn't have the speed to do that as often as he used to, and he doesn't want to take the risk to get another injury. 7. The Denver HC, is new in this role but also in his previous role he was the OC for Aaron Rodgers. A much better pocket QB than RW, so he has never dealt with a QB like RW. These weaknesses RW has are really hard to quantify during practice, and on top of that RW almost didnt play during the preseason, so the HC is finding out now that they need to make adjustments to the system to make it work with RW. 8. I think RW will improve as he will understand better the system, the coach will make some adjustment to the system as well, and RW will start to risk a bit more and run outside of the pocket, but I dont expect a huge improvement, at least not with this HC. 9. I think the Broncos would be better off with a HC like Sean Payton, that coached another "short" QB like Drew Brees, he would be better at understanding RW and help him to transition to a more pocket QB.

Maybe just maybe, the protection was never the problem(including in Seattle), it was Russ not hitting open routes underneath(like to the TE’s that Geno has been using) and instead holding the ball too long looking for the big play, and leaving the pocket early - over and over and over and over again and again and again.
Russ has went to Denver, and been sacked at a high rate, again.

The situation is easy to explain:
1. RW is a 5'10" QB, which is short for the league, specially when in front he has guys 4-7 inches taller than him and they have their arms raised. Because of this he doesnt have good visibility of some parts of the field.
2. Because of the lack of good visibility of some parts of the field, first he tries to find an open receiver in the areas of the field he has good visibility but if that doesn't happen, he tends to hold the ball for too long, there are moments and plays in which it is not easy for him to find some open players, unless they are way down the field where his visibility is better. (Reason why he connected a significant number of long passes)
3. Holding the ball for too long makes the OL collapse and in his younger years would ran outside of the pocket, which gave him better visibility of the field and then he was able to either complete a pass or run for a gain. He is the best or one of the best at throwing a pass while running sideways.
4. As he got older, he lost speed, he even gained some weight and he doesn't have the same reflexes he had in his 20s, additionally he was hit multiple times and the injury last year is making him think twice to run outside of the pocket.
5.Without running outside of the pocket he goes back to the same visibility problem, additionally he has never been a really good pocket QB.
6. For example a younger version of RW would have ran instead of throwing a pass in that interception in the 4th quarter and most likely he have made the 1st down and then the game was over. He could have also ran in that 4th and 1 in the OT, and even in the 4th and 5 in the week 1 in Seattle. But that didn't happen, Russ knows he doesn't have the speed to do that as often as he used to, and he doesn't want to take the risk to get another injury.
7. The Denver HC, is new in this role but also in his previous role he was the OC for Aaron Rodgers. A much better pocket QB than RW, so he has never dealt with a QB like RW. These weaknesses RW has are really hard to quantify during practice, and on top of that RW almost didnt play during the preseason, so the HC is finding out now that they need to make adjustments to the system to make it work with RW.
8. I think RW will improve as he will understand better the system, the coach will make some adjustment to the system as well, and RW will start to risk a bit more and run outside of the pocket, but I dont expect a huge improvement, at least not with this HC.
9. I think the Broncos would be better off with a HC like Sean Payton, that coached another "short" QB like Drew Brees, he would be better at understanding RW and help him to transition to a more pocket QB.
