- In a touchdown-less Thursday night football game, the Denver Broncos fell to the Indianapolis Colts 12 to 9 in overtime. Russell Wilson had two interceptions, one of those coming from going for the endzone late in the fourth instead of trying for the first down from the Indianapolis 13. I've been playing, loving and watching football for 36 years... I don't remember ever giving up on a game before half... Matt Ryan taking 2 huge sacks before half(duplicating his SB performance) and almost pushing them out of FG range. The last thing I saw before half, when I turned the game off, was Ryan taking a huge sigh of relief after the FG. Boring. So many bad plays and penalties... felt like a bad jr high game to me.

I watched Russell Wilson his whole career in Seattle and we had a lot of games like this where our defense plays great but we can't score at all and that's how we ended up with this tension between the offense and defense that ended up breaking up the team
Yes, i will NEVER forget that crazy low scoring game against the Cards where Bobby blocked a field goal by jumping over the line... that was one of the most insane games i've ever seen.... I don't think i've ever seen a defense gut out a game like that game.

I love seeing Shannon getting this passionate about his team. Both of them usually back up certain teams (Lakers for Shannon, Buccs for Skip) because their favored players are on those teams. We see Skip go crazy when it comes to the Cowboys because the Cowboys are always in the headlines. The Broncos haven't really been on the map in recent years, so we rarely get segments on them. But now with Russel Wilson playing for them, they are now more high profile. It's nice to see Shannon get to have some moments like this for the team he loves.

Maybe Seahawks' past success had more to do with Pete Carroll than Russell Wilson. Watching Geno Smith coming to shape under Pete Carroll is something special
russ normally plays well in the first few games of a season before he completely disappears. I dont even know what to think anymore, thought for the longest time that pete carroll was holding russ back by calling so many runs but now maybe russ was holding the hawks back

Every team's success has more to do with their HC than QB. Every team. Football is a team sport, HCs have far more influence over a team as a whole than QBs do. Poor/mediocre QB play can heavily hamper results, but a team's success will always be more indicative of the HC's quality than any single player.

I am on the record saying both the Seahawks and the Falcons would have to be dismantled top to bottom to ever recover from the two greatest sports blunders of all time. Atlanta was bad enough but Wilson not waving off that ridiculous play call from Carroll was the blunder of the ages. Wilson could have jogged into the right side of the end zone. Instead he handed Bray his Ring. Even if it is not intercepted that quick slant is prone to deflection and interception at the goal line. Wilson can never overcome that quarterback malfeasance on the grandest scale.
It's amazing that even though the Seattle Seahawks destroyed the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl 48, the Wilson trade could potentially hurt the franchise so much more.
