      Because he had 2 blown coverage TDs, was clean all first half and majority of their 1st half drives were kept alive from boneheaded denver penalties. The 2nd half he didn't lead the team to any points. I guarantee you Geno plays like Sh*t next week and is benched by week 6.

    I just found it so ironic and crazy that Russ didn’t score from the 1 yard line twice in this game when the Broncos ran the ball but in the super bowl Seattle threw the ball from the 1 yard line and threw a pick. It all comes full circle!

      True, but keep in mind that Gino has about 1/4 the miles on him that Russ has. 33 isn't old, but NFL miles add up. Gino has been a backup for most of his career.

    This is on Hackett 1000%. Agreed with Broussard, the coaching was horrendous. Starting with the cycling of Williams/Gordon, then the clock management, then the timeouts and finally...taking Russ out. I was actually shocked.

      Wrong. This is on denvers offense being stuffed twice inside 5 yard line. Being 0 for 4 in redzone. Even if they go for it, aint no gaurantee they get 5 yards the way there offense was playing against CORNER ROOKIES, 2ND STRING GUYS WHO ARE NOW STARTERS BY DEFAULT. lmao

    Hackett's error was 10-fold; a 4th and 5 has a 48% chance while a 62 yrd FG is 4.8%. Its also the EXACT same error Hackett made in GB vs the 49ers

    I'm starting to think that coach Carroll mostly keeping the lid on Wilson's cooking was what enabled Russ to have success. That coupled with the best D ever, a great running attack and great recievers, shows that his success was a product of the talent of the team and a coach who did not allow him to try and win it by himself.
    Wilson is not as bad as his critics believe but he's not as good as Carroll's system made him look.

      Yes, and what his ego produced was a payroll so heavily tilted towards his bankroll that they had to release other good players that could not fit under the cap because of his salary, something Denver is going to experience.

    Broncos just need to clean up a few things, penalties and fumbles. They're a very good team. Two fumbles at the goal line won't happen often. Russ played well, not excellent but he was good. 69-70% completion, 340yds. TE couldn't get his foot in for a TD, rbs fumbled. It shouldn't have been a close game.

      And if the broncos had just gotten 5 more yards then they probably win that game. But the broncos didn’t trust Russ, it was an inexcusable decision.
      I mean a 65 yard field goal is insane, the odds for that to go in are astronomically low. It’s only happened ONCE! Let Russ get 5 yards and you can kick the field goal.

    You can’t take Nick serious. Russ should’ve have 3tds and 400 yards passing. Drops killed them. So to say he played bad and expect a 33 year old QB to run a lot is ridiculous.

    They also had terrible penalties backing them up and unnecessarily extending the drive that soon became turnovers
