On the grid? Maybe yes. But the best in the world? I don’t think so! So let me tell you why, and all the untold truths of Max Verstappen.

As much as I don’t like him as a person, he is an awesome driver. While I do think people underestimate how much of the car does a lot of the work probably 2/3s of it(as you can see Vettel changed teams so did his position on the grid and also having the car specked out to your driving style (as you see in riccardos mclaren when done wrong and changing teams) helps. He is the greatest driver of his generation which I would say include Leclerc, russel, sainz, stroll, ocon, gasly and clearly better than anyone on the grid right now. Would be interesting to see what he could do in a Mercedes (specked for him) to see if it’s him and the car being so dominant or just max. All he needs to do is lose the turning up for the race means I deserve first place attitude and at least be happy for others. The way he acted when he started off like 12th and got to second while racing the perfect race and Perez coming first, he stormed off like a little kid sent to his room while the rest of the team celebrated a 1,2 win. Needs a humble season like Hamilton is having now or being like Alonso now with every podium is a party and supportive like Vettel and baby Schumacher. With that attitude he would be the greatest f1 driver of all time.
What this tells me is that F1 is feeling the effects of the same money balance issues MLB has fought for decades... wow!
This aged badly, Max destroying the entire grid with the type of ease schumacher did. Mercedes had a better car when Max won the title- he's as fast as it gets......
Ummmmmmmm 2021, 2022, 2023 already almost 3 x champ with 15 years to go.

I dont know why but i think max from now on will be the villain like alonso. Maybe it will be an entertainment or maybe not.
He’s clearly a great driver, I’ve never been a big fan of his though.

Did you not watch the video? Hamilton was sponsored by McLaren since he was thirteen so he had everything handed to him in order to compete in Formula One and when he did start in Formula One he was put in the best car on the grid and he stayed in a competitive car his whole career other than 2014 to 2020 where he was in an unbeatable car. You put anybody in that car and they are winning championships. How can you say someone is the greatest when they have always had the best machinery? You have to look at other people who achieved great things in Machinery that was not dominant and there are many drivers out there that performed way better than Hamilton does in the third fastest car. You can say Serena Williams is the goat because she uses the same equipment as every other woman tennis player in the world but if you have somebody achieving record-breaking numbers in a sport where they have a clear advantage over everybody they compete against you can't really call them the greatest can you? If I have a 250cc motorcycle and I'm competing against 19 people that have a 50cc bike does that make me better than everybody else? I don't think so

Overrated and hyped. Never had a slow car. Before his dominance at Merc, his track record wasn't exactly bright: choked in 2007, barely beat Massa in 2008, choked in 2010, beaten by Button in 2011. Matched by Rosberg in 2013. Lost from Rosberg 2016 and now beaten by Russel in 2022. He was good in 2012, had a good rookie year, and that's it.
Never dominated a teammate apart from Kovalainen. Button and Rosberg all were close to him, and Bottas was close to him until he got relegated to number 1.
His overtaking skills are drastically overrated - he would always complain that he can't get past someone - Verstappen at Australia, a Renault and Sauber (!) at Mexico, Raikkonen, Ricciardo at Austria, Vettel at Baku, Kimi at Brazil. There are more occasions of this in previous years.
Fans usually wave at you with his his titles, but his skills aren't goat material. He is good driver in general but very very very overrated and got some good luck with Mclaren en Mercedes.
Hamilton lost a title to Nico Rosberg in 2016 in the same car. This is something that also happened to Senna when he lost the title to his teammate in 1989. This puts them in that weird position where other champions have not lost the title in the same car such as Schumacher, Alonso and Vettel. Bias media? How about Nico’s car failure in 2014 in the last race where there were Double Points for grasp. No one says that Nico lost due to mechanical failure. No one comes to defend him.
I will point again to 2014 season, where the Pole Trophy was introduced and guess who won it? Yes, it was not Hamilton but his teammate Rosberg who outqualified him in the season 11-6 (if I remember correctly). Again, this shows that in the same machinery, it is very easy possible to outqualify Hamilton. Russel is doing it right now.
In this Hamilton-Mercedes era, the titles are way out of reach of any other team. The constructors is decided almost halfway thru the season and only thanks to Rosberg, and now Verstappen, Hamilton was exposed a number of times.
Its not simply a matter of Lewis being dominant its the Mercedes Team that is dominant.
The legendary Juan Manuel Fangio who won 5 titles with 4 different teams in an era where drivers would die left, right and center. Imagine, in that era, he won a drivers championship at the age of 46 years. If he would have been a British or German driver, you would hear his name at every GP and in every program but unfortunately he belongs to a country that no longer has a representation in F1 and thus no one mentions him.
F the British bias media, it just indoctrinates the British with Lewis being goat or legend. He cleary is not.
And there will be alway a delusional and frustrated Sir Lewis the Sixth fangirl who is trying too keep him somehow relevant..
He’s the true embodiment of f1 . If you don’t like it then that’s your problem . Long live the orange lion king Max Emilian Verstappen .
Best in the world? Well that would be Sebastian Loeb
