Idea: You could "float" your butcher block on jack screws (I hope I'm conveying that correctly). That way you can easily re-level when the carpet compresses, or something else occurs.
The problem with that is all of the torque that I will put on the top with a vise during barreling work. But... I have a solution for that! you will see it in the attaching and finishing the top video.
