...Everyone is talking about their minds equaling to blown but does anyone not notice that the Dead Eye God sounds suspiciously like Shay?!? And he's even wearing the same clothes. Just different colors. AND THEY'RE PART OF THE SAME PROJECT DANDELION. Either every one was so mind blown they didn't notice or this is a known fact. Oh well. Same goes for Vella and the Overmother. Except I haven't figured out how that works quite yet.
Also, people are like: I figured it out! Shay was the one behind everything (not on purpouse). But does anyone else remember that Vella's...grandmother? Said that she had been alive for years and that she saw the Mog Chothra every year. The other citizens of the towns also said something along the lines of tradition and shit. So...who was behind it before Shay? You guys probably think "Marek!". But then if it was Marek, why didn't he just keep doing it? And how did the Overmother not know about this? Is Marek controlling everything? WHAT IS LIFE. But in reality, these questions most likely will be answered in the near future when Act 2 is released.
That occurred to me right when I saw him! In fact, I guessed there was a connection between "saving" the creatures and Mog Chothra taking the maidens. :D
Okay, so I think I'm kind of piecing it together...? It's difficult. So the reason the Dead Eye God (AKA Shay, but older) doesn't recognize Vella is because he never actually encountered her when he was younger. I'm guessing whatever events happen after this switch-up causes them to wind up in the situations where Vella becomes the Overmother and Shay becomes the Dead Eye God. Shay becomes stranded, while Vella explores the "ship" (AKA Mog'chothra) and is possibly tricked into becoming apart of the ship from Marek. However, there's also the question of what will happen when Shay encounters the Dead Eye God (himself) and Vella encounters the Overmother (herself) and what happens after that occurs and why an older version of themselves are living at the same time they are. That is just confusing. Obviously these are parallel universes that occurred at the same time...right?! Okay, nevermind. There is no way I can debunk this. Let's just wait for Act 2.
Boobie The game is... trying. On the patience. The thing is, that Broken Age is unfortunately the kind of game that doesn't make it clear where the next piece of the puzzle is, as it could be anywhere between in the next room, or all the way back where you started. It's also the kind of game where, if you're not doing the puzzle right, or you don't have all the pieces, it's not immediately clear that the puzzle isn't solvable until you have tried it every way that you can think of, and it's still not working.
Boobie Because of the wacky, cartoony feel of the game, there are some things that make you go "why would that make sense?" or "How would I have figured that out?" The game's version of making things harder is either making the controls more difficult, or making the puzzles increasingly nonsensical.
Is it just me, or when mother sun told Shay about her past when she was girl, she reminded me a lot of Vella. And when the "Dead Eye God" came he reminded me of Shay by his outfit, hair, and voice.
also the "dead eye god" mentioned taking over the controls of the ship and thats what Shay did ANND, when in the ship, vella mentioned the weird shapes which match the shapes of some of the little creatures and shapes on Shay's ship
Okay totally got it. Mog Chothra is Shay's ship and the time he was "saving maidens with the boom arms" he was actually eating maidens with the tentacles. I feel like the surprise the Sun Mom had for him was all the maidens she'd been collecting!!!! What the hell!
Actually, didn't she mention that she was a "sacrificial maiden" at one point herself? I think the big reveal will most likely be that the AI's used for the ship were girls collected by the Mogs over the centuries; each new maiden is a new AI for the ship. More than likely, Shay is from Loruna as well; put into suspended animation as a baby, he was recently brought out of his sleep. The biggest mystery, though, is Marek. I still don't trust him.
Ohhhhh. So like to explain it to those who don't understand. Shay(?). The first time when he got 4 'aliens' was the first Maidens Feast, then next there were 3 aliens, but only got 2. The last one was struggling and that was Vela. The last one there was only 3 again, but he didn't get the last one cause of enemy attack. The enemy attack was the Dead Eye God shooting the death ray at the ship. So the entire time the ship was the 'monster'. Yup. It's all coming together~! Wonderful game
Mog Chothra was Shay's ship.... all the places he was going, was the villages. I can really think many uses for the "boom arms" and the "saving" and what was the exact role of the wolf. The ungy "creature" that Shay wonders "What is wrong with this one" and dropped (all others were happy) It was HER! It all made sense for me now.
According to that Cole Rains guy up there, I think it will be the part where Vella is forced to have a baby Shay and then have her mind transfered to the computer while the "real" Shay finds the "Dead Eye God"s spaceship and use it to go about 300 years in the past and lock himself in cryogenic stasis after getting bored of being acclaimed by the local people of being the Dead Eye God... Or maybe i'm just overimagining things. Can't be sure.

But with limited amounts of "food" how are you supposed to do such a thing? Hint* One of the cereals at the beginning of Shay's part is called Soylent Green. Dun dun dunnnnnn.
I don't know, I think the sun mom isn't Vella, I think she's the memories of Shay's real mom from Lenora. Remember how they said that it was dying? What if, they "sacrificed" the sun mom and the moon dad so that they can find a way to heal them, or at least, survive? The wolf something like the captain of the ship before, but after Lenora's people died off, he thought that by repopulating the world might save it, so he kidnaps tributes. One things for certain though, shay is important as in, his very existence is vital for something, being that the entire ship took care of him since he was an infant. It's more plausible than that time paradox. The clothing of the dead eye is different from Shay's and, motherly instincts or not, the sun mom's personality is way too different from Vella. But I can't say they might not be related. Cause another theory of mine is that the sun mom's personality and memories are actually Bella's late grandmother. Lastly, and one ever wondered why it takes maidens every 15 years? Something's fishy about that one.
As soon as the mayor said "What kind of pits are you talking about?" I understood the answer. And I shouted fruitless at the screen, "Cry, your inventory!"
OMG, that twist ending though!! I literally gasped when I understood the plot twist. But maaaan, that means that all those times that guy was picking up creatures, it was really the girls? So when he lost one of them and was like "there's something wrong with this one..." and then he couldn't find it because it was gone... That was the girl!!

This one was always my favorite. Now it makes me sad to come back to. I hope you’re getting help, Cry. Nothing is unforgivable, but you have to put the work in. Hope we see you again someday, make sure it’s after things are made right. I’ll be looking forward to it
In all of the funny names in the long list of backers, Cry gets sensitive to the small amount of sad ones. He even feels sympathetic to the person who trolled us's fingers. I don't know why, but that warms my heart in a way. :3 If I were to fall in love they'd better have a personality like Cry's.
We know Shay was never really in space, Mog Chothra was a vessel designed to keep Shay safe. Because maybe he is the sole survivor of Loruna, and Mog Chothra was designed as a last ditch effort of operation Dandelion to try and keep him in cryogenic sleep when your asleep in game to try and continue the Lorunian bloodline. And a new one appears every 14 years, and Shay is 14 years old, so every 14 years a new Lorunian is born, and Mog Chothra then takes care of the kid, and the cycle repeats. And the maidens feast was a way to try and find a person who could reproduce a Lorunian offspring. And Mog Chothra deposits the maidens beyond the Plague Dam.
THAT TWIST! Omfg this is so interesting. When Shay came out of the monster/ship, it dawned upon me that the things he had been rescuing could well be the innocent maidens of the feast. In other words... Something fishy is going on with that wolf... Can't wait for act 2. Definitely on my waiting list, thank you sir Cry for this~!
The 'rescue' mission for shay was another 'game' all those creatures were the maidens, mog chothra was the spaceship, and shay thought that he was rescuing the maidens and the reason "mog chothra" didn't pick all the maidens were because the Wolf guy said enemy ships were approaching. I just realized all this now :D

I have never been so confused over a game before... Especially because the Sun-Mom told Shay that she was that girl from the story she apparently told Shay several times. Maybe... Maybe what's going on is that Shay was capturing these "creatures" that happened to be the maidens from her world. Shay was already practically living a life of a lie anyway. As for Vella... I'm completely clueless. I wonder how the Sun-Mom is going to react to this--especially since the Sun claimed to be that girl.
oh mY GOD EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW. REMEMBER THE CREATURE THAT DIDN'T WANNA' GET TAKEN BY THE MACHINE!? THAT WAS VELLA, WHO WAS ESCAPING FROM MOG'CHOTHRA.
It also makes sense in Shay's story why the last "helpless creature" was moving around so much. Connect the dots to the final showdown between Vella and the Mog.

OMG, everything came together so perfectly in the end. Also I was shouting at my screen "ITS FRUIT, THE ANSWER IS FRUIT" since the last part. when he finally realized it i started striking Super Sentai poses while shouting "YESSS, YESSS"
Okay, okay. So lemme piece this together. The first time him having to leave one of the "Creatures" behind because Merek said it was too dangerous. I'm pretty sure it was that girl in the Cloud village place. She DID say how Mog Chothra didn't choose her, so yeah... Proof is: All the creatures LOOK like the maidens. (First set was birds, second were like pastries, and the third time had feathers and one was an octopus). As for the second time when the "Creature" fell out of his grasp, that was Vella. But something tells me that the reason the ship was under attack was because the villagers were attacking the ship? I did hear screams... And the third time was Vella also, and that light that Merek didn't know about was the Death Ray hitting the ship; Hence Shay passing out, waking up and walking outside the ship to see Vella. Now... if I remember when Shay went to get the Boom Arms, it did look like the outer layer of Mog Chothra. What i don't get is if he was in any of their home towns, why does it look like space whenever he's outside of the ship? Who is the Sun Mom and Moon Dad... who is this Dead Eye God that sounds like an older Shay? Ugh DX I WANNA KNOW!

OMG, that twist ending though!! I literally gasped when I understood the plot twist. But maaaan, that means that all those times that guy was picking up creatures, it was really the girls? So when he lost one of them and was like "there's something wrong with this one..." and then he couldn't find it because it was gone... That was the girl!!
I love how Cry is more excited about finishing the credits than the actual game XD

In all of the funny names in the long list of backers, Cry gets sensitive to the small amount of sad ones. He even feels sympathetic to the person who trolled us's fingers. I don't know why, but that warms my heart in a way. :3 If I were to fall in love they'd better have a personality like Cry's.
We know Shay was never really in space, Mog Chothra was a vessel designed to keep Shay safe. Because maybe he is the sole survivor of Loruna, and Mog Chothra was designed as a last ditch effort of operation Dandelion to try and keep him in cryogenic sleep when your asleep in game to try and continue the Lorunian bloodline.
And a new one appears every 14 years, and Shay is 14 years old, so every 14 years a new Lorunian is born, and Mog Chothra then takes care of the kid, and the cycle repeats.
And the maidens feast was a way to try and find a person who could reproduce a Lorunian offspring. And Mog Chothra deposits the maidens beyond the Plague Dam.

The 'rescue' mission for shay was another 'game' all those creatures were the maidens, mog chothra was the spaceship, and shay thought that he was rescuing the maidens and the reason "mog chothra" didn't pick all the maidens were because the Wolf guy said enemy ships were approaching. I just realized all this now :D

I have never been so confused over a game before... Especially because the Sun-Mom told Shay that she was that girl from the story she apparently told Shay several times. Maybe... Maybe what's going on is that Shay was capturing these "creatures" that happened to be the maidens from her world. Shay was already practically living a life of a lie anyway. As for Vella... I'm completely clueless. I wonder how the Sun-Mom is going to react to this--especially since the Sun claimed to be that girl.
oh mY GOD EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW. REMEMBER THE CREATURE THAT DIDN'T WANNA' GET TAKEN BY THE MACHINE!? THAT WAS VELLA, WHO WAS ESCAPING FROM MOG'CHOTHRA.
Also. When Shay's ship was under attack, that was Dead Eye God guy shooting lasers at Mog'Chothra.
It also makes sense in Shay's story why the last "helpless creature" was moving around so much. Connect the dots to the final showdown between Vella and the Mog.

And the one Shay forgot was the girl on the cloud that was extremely depressed! And when the maiden's planner at Vella's community said a new nog comes out every 14 tears! Isn't Shay around 14? And when the wolf man said he was waiting till Shay's time came!? Aah! So much info! Oo! And I just thought if this guys! When the sun computer said being sacrificed was an honor? They didn't really die! They got transported to a spaceship!! They got to see space! That IS an honor! 😱 oh my GOSH!!!!! So much information!!!!

***** Well. Two videos ago i pointed out the fact that Shey's saving those "creatures" looked like maidens sacrifices, and that maybe it meant that Shay's ship was actually Mog Chotra. But since he could actually go out of the ship, in what seemed to be space, it seemed kinda weird. In the end, i was right all along.
Now, i'm curious about how you think "Broken Age" implied that from the beginning...

Okay, okay. So lemme piece this together.
The first time him having to leave one of the "Creatures" behind because Merek said it was too dangerous. I'm pretty sure it was that girl in the Cloud village place. She DID say how Mog Chothra didn't choose her, so yeah...
Proof is: All the creatures LOOK like the maidens. (First set was birds, second were like pastries, and the third time had feathers and one was an octopus).
As for the second time when the "Creature" fell out of his grasp, that was Vella. But something tells me that the reason the ship was under attack was because the villagers were attacking the ship? I did hear screams...
And the third time was Vella also, and that light that Merek didn't know about was the Death Ray hitting the ship; Hence Shay passing out, waking up and walking outside the ship to see Vella.
Now... if I remember when Shay went to get the Boom Arms, it did look like the outer layer of Mog Chothra.
What i don't get is if he was in any of their home towns, why does it look like space whenever he's outside of the ship? Who is the Sun Mom and Moon Dad... who is this Dead Eye God that sounds like an older Shay? Ugh DX I WANNA KNOW!
Actually there is a the inside of the ship. Then there is the part that projects a holographic screen that looks like space. Which adds another question, what is keeping shay in their and why is he being hidden from the world.
