love it - everybody being safe and giving folks plenty of space, and yet enjoying the vehicles. Love that initial laugh as the first blows past and he downshifts and hammers it.
348 is a car for hairy chested men (as they would describe 'real men' on Top Gear). At high speed, it's easy to get scared by the steering wheel bouncing in your hands when there are creases or bumps in the road. I had the speedo pointing somewhere past the official top speed (not bad for a nearly 30 year old car!) when the autobahn went from asphalt to concrete slabs. Modern cars would mostly soak it up and communicate some vague vibrations through the steering wheel, but this was like entering a cage fight with a tiger. Still, one of the most awesome experiences I've had in a car! 😁
Hello, been thinking about a 348 recently. Realizing your comment is from 2 years ago - how often do you have to have your 348 worked on. I am looking at some now but not sure of the reality of engine out service, etc.
@@tombyorn8278 For the fluids, depends on mileage. I drive 2.000 km per year and change the fluids every two years. Engine-out belt service can be done every five years, no problem. The belts they make today are a lot stronger than those of thirty years ago. Cheers!
both are hot cars, no doubt. it has a better acceleration, stiffer drivability. the 1k more rp/m brings out a higher screaming sound. but for me it is the 348. masculine lines. hard edges. had no f1 transmission option to buy, only manual. dog leg gearbox. "eat it or not" if you want so. but as with art, it's always a matter of own taste and nobody can argue about taste right? hehe. thanks for your comment man.
Internet myth, a well sorted F355 with headers/valves replaced (that most owners did 15 years ago) costs no more to run annually than any Porsche or supercar of the era.
I would say it's safe. The 348 itself is analogue car and doesn't offer an electronic stability program. The driver has to be skilled and fitted with quick reaction times to control it when necessary. Hope that helps you further. :)
I would only drive like that on a 3 lane highway….2 lane always hitting the brakes for some idiot that is in your way..nice cars… my 03 SVT Cobra get from 70 mph to 140 in seconds…most helpful with 4:10 gears ..640 rwhp..and a 6 speed box..😀.
You are obviously a fan of Japanese cars (so am I, I own an MR2 MK2 and a GR Yaris) but your comparison between a 30 year old Ferrari and a Nissan released 15 years later is ridiculous.

These classic Ferraris are gorgeous
...and take cara of those dam stone chips....
Great video! Keeping a 348 in a straight line at those speeds takes courage and knowledge. '91 348 tb owner here!
I couldn't agree more! Taking it beyond 220 km/h takes proper cold blood. '92 ts here.
