I have the 2013 SE with the 2.5 L and the Appearance Package. I have had zero problems, and found it to be a very fun car to drive, that gets good gas mileage, has ample power, and looks great. On a lot of the reviews here, it seems people are nit-picking to death every little detail, as if it were a freakin' Lambourhini or something. It's a very nice domestic car.
I have nothing against Chevy, have had a lot of.them myself. I do think that Ford may have overtaken them for a few years now. I just know that I really like current car better than anything that I have had from Chevrolet or Chrysler in recent years
@Stephen Schmidt I got 2020 with the 2.5.I read they handle good, and it handles damn good i was shocked lol.How has yours held up reliability wise? I only have 4,900 miles
I've driven a 2012 Fusion Hybrid and it was amazing! I really would consider buying one because it feels very different to a Toyota, it rode better than a Lexus RX to be honest.
I bought a certified pre-owned 2016 Ford Fusion SE with 1,100 miles on 12-31-18. I love it! It’s smooth, quiet, and my transmission did shift weird for the first 30 miles I had it. I’m at almost 1,300 miles and the trans is perfectly smooth. I also grandma drive it lol.
Fusion is among the top 3 choices in America now, 1st being Honda Accord(the broedom king),2nd being Mazda 6 and 3rd being Fusion I prefer Fusion cuz its quietest, has the best combination between ride quality and handling , has lots of gizmos and good space and great luxury inside and the new1.5 ecoboost is great, turbo kicks in as low as 1500 rpm the 1.6 kicked in @ 2500 rpm so felt sluggish at part throttle the 2014 version is awesome Also the steering is very very nice much much better than all Japanese/Korean /American/German competition except Mazda 6
Ryando Ellison did you ever figure out what it was? Mine does it every once in awhile, it feels like the lockup clutch on the converter engaging super slow or it grabs too hard. It’s always third gear with my issues. I’m getting the trans fluid changed, 14k current mileage on my 16 fusion. I don’t drive it hard at all, still haven’t floored it since the test drive. Hopefully the trans fluid change helps.
@@garrettm7993 My '18 1.5 eco kinda does this. 15k miles. First to second is kinda rough and a delay, 2nd to third is kinda rough, the rest are butter smooth
my dad just bought a 2013 titanium with awd and the 2.0 turbo il4. glad you had a vid, just wish it could've been a titanium your take on it would be good.
I just got a Fusion SE but mine has just about everything on it. I have really enjoyed the engine that is an Eco boost and steering feels good to me. I really enjoyed your review.
my dad has a 2014 fusion titanium in deep impact blue. it is 10x better than the se. the leather seats are very comfortable and supporting and the 2.0L EcoBoost is very nice plenty powerful to get in touble with :)
Obviously the Titanium is better the se which is a BASE model. Youre comparing top of line to base. Also. While EcoBoost is cool, goodluck when issues with the turbos arise. Meanwhile the 2.5 is a tried tested and true simple motor. Remember, these cars are your average commuters. nothing special.
I have a 2013 Fusion SE 2.5 as a courtesy car as the dealership works on an intermittent shudder/clutch fork noise caused by the PowerShift transmission in my 2012 Ford Fucus (yes Fucus!) Titanium. I find it has more than enough power around town. The Sync system is absolutely horrible compared to Sync 2.0 (aka MyFord Touch). I don't know if the microphone is in an odd place, but it fails to recognise most voice commands that MFT understands easily. Sync also is slower than MFT. You're right - the steering is artificially assisted to be too light and there is more road feel in the Focus. Overall, a very nice car. It's also nice that Ford offers the global up/down windows in the Fusion SE, and that if you hold down the door unlock button after you unlock all doors, all the windows roll down. It's a great feature in our 30 degree plus Celsius weather. It's also nice that the 6F35 transmission doesn't shudder like the Focus.
TheGreatMattsby24 I believe they were you really have to observe them in this video. They park themselves... then go down as if they were being turned off but they are still in intermittent mode. It's a small thing but boy is it annoying.
TJC450 That's because he pushed the stalk to where it gives you one wipe then stops. I'm pretty sure he has a Focus video that demonstrates how the wipers park.
I drove the 1.5 ecoboost and I was disappointment with it. The car doesn't feel that much faster except during mid-range punch. Also, it was a bit of turbo lag and the auto seems a bit slow to downshift. I think I probably just get the 2.0 or look elsewhere.
+joe balou The 2.5 Duratec DOHC I4 is a naturally aspirated engine producing 175 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 175 ft/lb of torque at 4,500 rpm. The 1.5L Ecoboost GTDI I4 is a turbocharged and intercooled engine producing 181 horseopwer at 6,000 rpm and 185 ft/lbs of torque at 4,320 rpm. In my experience they feel very similar, but you can get better fuel economy out of the 1.5 if you drive carefully. However, the 2.5L is a Multiport Injected engine, which means you never have to worry about carbon build up on the intake valves, unlike the 1.5 or the 2.0
@@DoomsdayMelody91 Durability is probably very different from those two engine series.. The 2.5 duratec is the basic mazda designed NA engine,, no GDI, No turbo,, low compression reatio.. this is a low power engine in relation to size (70hp/ liter) ,, It is low maintnance engine.. With proper oil shifts it will run 200.000 miles with no major hickups..
Thanks. This is the exact car my godmothers wife just bought, she hasn't taken us for a ride just yet. It was just time for her to get a new car, I don't think she cares much for details about cars. 3rd in line behind Accord and the TL... Fusion has the just right size and ride I like and then the Regal has nicer weight and ride that handles strongly in turns. Everything considered I don't think I could by a car that has a speedometer that isn't centered it's incorrect.
Put this car and and that mysterious S and you'll find that its not so sluggish..WARNING!! Must have manual shifting experience.but its alot of fun in manual.

Sure the 2.5 is dog slow but will outlast the Ecoboost engines. Less moving parts and longetivity.
MrCliffda3rd I agree
That what I’m finding out on all my research, stay away from the ecojunk!!!
I got a 13 fusion titanium eco boost. I’ve had since 2013 tell now and haven’t hand any problems with it. I baby it a lot 😂
Is there anyway you can view the speed on the small screen in between the odometers?
When it shift for 2nd to 3rd it jerks like a delay my fusion does that too smh
Ryando Ellison Wym it shifts for 2nd to 3rd ?
