Love how peaceful and beautiful your house is. So lucky.
we def lucked out, really love it here!
The wire rack is an awesome idea, because I don't like soggy where crunchy should be. Thanks for sharing .
it works great!
Completely enjoyed your aquarium! Amazing!
glad you enjoyed it!
best part about Mondays 🔥
I second that!
🙏
Cool video, I like the spear flapper in the view, it lets us see exactly where you're pointing.
that was the thought!
Love that skiff!!!! Great tool to have there
love that thing!
Aaron love to see your back yard bro the scenery is beautiful
love it back there!
Enjoyed this video! Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
glad you enjoyed it!
This channel is pure! Great as always!
love to hear you enjoy it!
Hi Madeleine! So good to see you again! Today's dive was so peaceful, I so enjoy hanging out with you when you're shopping 😉for dinner. Really liked the fried fish recipe too, nice and quick! Looked amazing! Have a wonderful week you two!
thanks so much for coming along! 🙏
What a mob of mangos at the mangrove supermarket😎👀!!
right!
dig the gun mounted camera angle for those shallow water sessions!
seems to work better!
Aaron, nice video thanks. To keep the flopper from hanging down, just put a small weak rubber band on it to hold it against the shaft. When the head goes through the fish, the rubber band should roll back to the shaft and allow the flapper to do its job holding the fish. I’m thinking small rubber band like ladies use on ponytails, braids, etc.
glad you enjoyed it! and theres no issue with the flopper hanging down in my opinion. never had any issues.
Yes, that was a cowfish. I also call them boxfish. If you release them on shore into the surf they will briefly waddle (run) across the top water for 10-15ft, pretty neat to see.
haha too funny!
I was love your videos, Aaron they put me in a happy place
really love to hear that!
The cooling rack is where it's at for fried fish! Awesome video, as always.
makes such a difference!
Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. I've been disappointed by many things in my life, but never by fried snapper.
haha love it!
Another great video , as usual . Very relaxing , made my day ( also made my mouth water love fried fish , thats not Madelein's mother , surely it's her sister !!! ) . Thank you !!
glad you enjoyed it!
I am always so impressed with how professional your videos are! Thanks for sharing all you do!!
love to hear that!
Just goes to show that you don't need to go after the bigger species to have a great trip or meal. Fish cook looked and sounded very nice. My wife finds the panko to coarse as is so I run it in a processor to make it finer. It still leave a crispy coating. Be well.
agreed! and have never tried that!
Glad to see that you tried your beard. ..also enjoy your fishing videos.
haha love to hear it!
So enjoyable and educating to watch. Looks like you get to commune with nature quite a lot. How cool
nothing like it
Same beautiful weather here in the Philippines ✌gotta love the winters.
haha love it!
Smooth brother 😂 best way bringing in mother in law!
😂
"Winter" here on the other side of the states as well. lol SoCal...
haha love it!
The new rocks in the water look nice.
love how it turned out!
Definitely my favorite kind of vid... hope you get to a point with the channel where 2 vids come out every week... I appreciate your work and thank you.
haha hopefully one day! been crazy been hard to keep up
So freaking awesome. Love you guys so awesome seeing mom there can’t wait for the next one.
thanks for coming along!
Man i enjoy your channel. Thanks
love to hear it!
Great video, I noticed that you added some rocks to your backyard shoreline. Looks great! Keep up the great work : )
trying to stop the house from washing away! haha thanks!
Cool video, your fish fry game was on point
haha thank you!
@@KeyWestWaterman you’re welcome
Man that looked fun I would love to try that I dive in are lakes here in Indiana they have an old Train in the bottom of one of are lakes here that's 43' foot down that's a fun place to dive But for fish I never have did that your not using a tank your just snorkeling I would love that and the scenery there is awesome there under the water and out Not like here We still have snow And "I Hate it" It's to Cold it's 10 degrees here for the lows

Congratulations Madeline on selling three homes! 🏡
she said thank you!
You know I have watch you do this it makes me realize that I missed the lifestyle considering I grew up in the Honduran Bay Islands
I hear it beautiful there!
I can honestly compare it with the beauty of your Key West
@@KeyWestWaterman my Island home is called guanaja
Thanks again mate.
glad you enjoyed it!
Ahoy Aaron, it's like having my own aquarium watching this video. You have the best back yard a fisherman could imagine. Stay safe my friend.
love it back there!
Awesome videos Bud!
Smash up some chicharones and use them as bread crumbs, they have great flavor since they are salted and are very crunchy. Goes great on chicken as well. Love the content brotha, need to get back to stock island to head out with you again.
I believe it! thanks so much for tuning in, I look forward to it!
i love to see you fishing 😢❤
me too!
Another enjoyable video! I look forward to 2 things on Monday nite. KWW and Kill Tony!!
I may be late to the party on this one, but are you all sporting oofos (I call em mofos)? Wife turned me onto them. Definitely comfort over style, but the dogs be happy!
haha love to hear it! and yup they are the greatest shoes ever made 😂
As usual great episode, 5 stars! Next, a proposal……ill be in your area with the family February 8-14 (Marathon). Would you have any interest in making an episode exactly like this one “with fans of the channel “. Simply taking the Ginou (spelling) out and spearing or casting for fish. If this is something that would interest you I can email you my contact information and talk details. Regards from Michigan (Go Blue)!
really love to hear you enjoyed it! and I wish I could take everyone out, truth is a get that request daily. its impossible to cater to everyone. and its "Gheenoe" haha thanks so much for tuning in!
This is one of the most enjoyable videos you have produced. Everything is so calm; almost in slow motion. We see the underwater structure, and the fish just moving about. We get to see what goes on below the surface, and your narration was spot on.
really love to hear that! 🙏

Very cool... waiting for you to tell us the weight of these mangroves..here we have rainbows...a nice one is 2 to 3 lbs...
these were all smaller 1-2 lbs
Hi Madeleine! 😊
hello!
It's good to have some look changes. You can even recognize yourself with a short beard
haha clean slate for the new year
Great vid. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Great job and I love the boat ride back in. That sailboat has been there for a while now. Anyone doing salvage down there to keep the waters safe?
glad you enjoyed it! and nope, there about 4-5 derelict boats out there now. its always been a problem here
Great video ... always enjoy watching your videos. Question... did you ever go back again and try to find the snapper that broke your line ?? I also saw the video were you went looking for it ... just wondering if you went back a 3rd time... thanks again for the great and informative videos. Oooh and.lets not forget the awesome cooking videos. Have a great week !!!
love to hear it! and I haven't been back a 3rd time yet. I try not to over pressure areas. but I will be back!
Love the videos Aaron
love to hear it! 🙏
fire vid aaron!
glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Aaron, love ur channel. You mentioned you wanted to keep the fish longer in ice, why is that? Just learning…
Thx.
when the fish completely cools down the meat relaxes, I personally think its better texture when cooked, its also easier to filet once its completely cooled and firm.
It’s been cold front after cold front lately, so nice to see someone finally get on the water again👍🏼
I was dying to get out there!
Aaron, if it wasn't for you, I couldn't have gone fishing today. Appreciate that.
🙏
Hello, sorry my English, I really enjoy your videos underwater fishing in the mangroves, it is my favorite fishing, although here in Miami there are not those sizes, a big hug. Rudy.
love to hear it! no need to apologize! thanks so much for watching
I know it's an extra step in post-production editing, but could you maybe throw up a royalty free music track while we just swim along with you. It seems so soothing to watch you swim through so many fish.
I have a music subscription, but don't like to use it too much. I throw some in here and there but like the sounds of the ocean!
why do you never cook with the skin on that's some of the best bits
we do sometimes, just not every time
Just curious, do snappers have cheeks? Up north we take them off walleyes and pike
they do but hard to cut out on the small ones. we have to cook the heads whole to get them out.
The art and akill of patience showed with Mr. Dirthead. 100% stone shot. Good stuff Aaron. Glad to see the mangrove fisheries are alive and thriving. From a fellow Floridian and one always aware of limits, sizes, and populations I appreciate you sir. And HOLY COW!!!!! Madeline is a spitting image of her mother.
I wont lie that one felt good! haha thanks so much as always do appreciate you tuning in! and right! haha
Wow! The amount of mangroves are crazy! Great to see so many! You do live in paradise man! Happy hunting. Great job man!! Stay safe!❤
always a treat! thanks for watching!
Recipe
2 cup(s) fish stock
1 cup(s) Irish potato, diced
1 cup(s) pumpkin, diced
4 medium okras, sliced
1 pound(s) whole snapper
1/4 cup(s) tomato, diced
1 teaspoon(s) Grace Caribbean Traditions Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) scotch bonnet pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
2 stalk(s) escallion, chopped
1 sprig(s) thyme
1 whole scotch bonnet pepper
10 whole crackers
Fancy's Jamaican Steamed Fish Directions
Pour fish stock in a large skillet and bring to a boil. Add Irish potato, pumpkin and okra; cover and leave to simmer for 10 minutes.
Slit fish on both sides, then stuff the cavity with half of the vegetables and seasonings (tomato, black pepper, scotch bonnet pepper, onion, garlic and escallion). Sprinkle with the remaining black pepper.
Place fish into the boiling fish stock and add the remaining garlic, tomato, onion, escallion, scotch bonnet pepper, thyme and a whole scotch bonnet pepper.
Spoon stock over the fish, cover and steam over medium flame for 10 minutes.
To Serve: Place fish on platter, add crackers then pour on the fish stock.
Method Note: Diced yam, string beans and carrots may be used; you can also add your favourite vegetables and starches.
Note: Fish stock is a flavourful liquid prepared by simmering meaty bones from meat or poultry, seafood and/or vegetables in water with aromatics (onion, celery, ginger, garlic and thyme) until their flavour, aroma, colour, body and nutritive value are extracted. The liquid is then strained and used to prepare sauces, soups and as a braising and simmering cooking medium.
This is for the steamed grunt there’s many ways but I tried to find the easiest way 🔥🤙🏾
Amazing! thanks so much I will give it a go when I can!
Aaron i have an old Indian trick put a popcorn Krunal in your oil when it pops your oil is ready enjoyed your video thank you.
haha never heard of that will have to try it!
Wow, great to dream through the nuts and bolts of a lifestyle for some of us of days gone by. Thanks God Bless. P.S. Looking forward to springtime fishing season!!!
thanks so much for watching!
Madeline is a kick ass realtor. She exceeded my expectations. Great video 📹 Aaron
haha hope all is well sam! 🙏
Thanks for another great video Aaron, what’s the best time of the year to go fishing with you?
I only offer spearfishing charters now, but it all depends on the species! lots of variety here
I notice you carry your catch with you. Do ever deal with aggressive sharks in the shallow waters?
sometimes. depends where I am, rarely deal with them near the mangroves.
YAY!!!! Aaron and Madeleine Hi 😊👋🙌,Hi Madeleine's Mom you two could honestly pass for sisters🙂, nice catch and loved the views from the balcony, hope the fur babies are all doing well and until next time stay safe, stay awesome out there y'all 😊👋🙌
haha glad you enjoyed it!
@@KeyWestWaterman thanks for taking me along my brother 😊🙌👋
Thanks again for the awesome video! I remember you saying always try to wash your fish (fillet) in saltwater whenever possible. I need to do this!!
glad you enjoyed it! and yes I try to when I can!
Love your videos they're so peaceful and informative. I wish I could experience those school of snapper in Miami! Your life is my dream:) I'm currently 19 and aim to have a place in the keys like you do! keep up the good content and lmk if you need an intern:)
really love to hear that! it didn't come easy but was worth every second, I wish you the best of luck and hope you find that dream as well! 🙏
Boys and girls??!! How dare you presume our genders!!??... 🤣 Epic vid epic dining.
lol oh boy
Do you ever run into dangerous wildlife diving the shallows for dinner?
not really, some sharks here and there
Hey, Aaron 👋 Its like a whole new world down there. I love the camera view from the gun. It’s so peaceful watching you swim around; minus the “Jaws” music I hear in my own scared mind. I get nervous every time you bleed the fish while in the water. Such great content. Have a great night. 😊
haha thanks so much for coming along as always! 🙏
Sounds like FL needs a regulation change. Something to like of removing ghost traps and turning them in to fish and wildlife to let them deal with it. Great video as always brother!
they have programs that allow you to clean them up but you have to get approval and permits from my understanding. hope to participate in the next one.
Haha it is only 28 degrees here in Central Texas with a little sleet and snow mixed in. Defanatly makes me want to head there! Anther great video Thanks for taking us along.
haha no thank you!
@Key West Waterman I know that's right I don't even like to deer hunt in weather like this!!
You truly live an incredible life Aaron! Cruising the mangroves just taking in the beauty of all the schools of fish looks so peaceful
I wont argue that! never gets old!
Hi Aaron, we really enjoy these no stress, relaxing videos from your back yard. Truly we’d love to be able to tag along and learn from the master. Keep showing us how it should be done. God Bless!
🙏
Aaron, I know you fear you are inducing boredom with repetitive "mangrove" dive videos. Don't. I honestly enjoy every single one of these you produce in your backyard aquarium. They are cathartic like an aquarium.
I do if i'm being honest! they never get old for me but hope they never do for yall.
We would marinate the fish whole, with turmeric and a bit of salt. Then using wok, then fried it until crispy...
Then remove oil ..add garlic onion, tomatoes cubes or tomato ketchup, and julienne of ginger and carrots. Salt to taste..A squeeze of lime..then pour on the fish.
You're living a life that others can dream of.
sounds amazing!
As I sit here sore from getting a pickup load of firewood in anticipation of -36F on Thursday.....I am Florida dreaming....never been, but by Golly, it sure sounds nice....sun, fresh fish fried to perfection....the flu thing missing is a few squirts if lime ;)......and just wondering....what kind of Mac-n-cheese is that?
Oh, and I noticed some smaller mangrove seedling coming up on the waters edge, did you plant them or are they self seeding?
Keep up the great work....
haha stay warm! and its Cracker Barrel out of the box lol. They are self seeding, it's pretty awesome to watch. they just float in with the tide, when it drops they find a comfy spot and root.
Fun and peaceful as always my friend I am awaiting on a less windy days here in Miami to start shore Spearfishing and in March will be going to Brazil in a place called Buzios, located in Rio De Janeiro to do some hunting down there, looking forward for that. I love to see you guys well with each other, half of life’s happiness comes from having a great partner and you two have each other.
God bless you and please be safe!!
Hope you have a great trip and couldn’t agree more!
What’s up Aaron, my son and I love your channel. You are the man! I really love these shallow mangrove dives you do. I fish south of key Biscayne bay and see a lot of pristine crystal clear mangrove areas. I wanted to know the law for inshore spearfishing before I jump in. Ive searched multiple sites and the info is vague. Was hoping if you could give me your opinion. Also I would love to book a spear fishing charter with my son. Do you offer shallow water, mangrove, spearfishing, charters? Thank you and keep putting out great videos🌊🤙🏼
love to hear it! and I honestly dont know the laws up there, they are different than here, I know upper keys you can't be within 3 miles from shore. so I'd try to call FWC for clarification. and would be happy to have yall out, I don't offer those trips on the little boat, but do have some shallower spots we can get to with the big boat. I may possibly offer shallow water trips on the Gheenoe when my new one comes in haven't decided yet!
Gangster video bro!!!
Try breading with cracker meal (specifically rika brand they got it in the bread isle in Publix)
Double bread it!!!! Amazing
glad you enjoyed it! thanks for the tip!
Great video this week very relaxing!!! Love the backwater stuff on the skiff. I've done both skiffs and larger ocean boats I've always had more fun in the sounds creeks and rivers here in swansboro nc. Save a fortune on fuel having more fun. You ever pick up conch down there? February is the month to pick them up here. What we have is actually a welk but everyone calls them conch they look different than yours but are awesome to make stews. Basically I make mine like I would clam chowder replacing the clams with conch. Twice as good as clam chowder.
wish we could harvest them here, they are protected we can't harvest them.
Another great video brother!!! I hit the snappers pretty good today too! My girl chose fish fry for dinner instead of lunch though haha. Anyway I just wanted to give a mini suggestion.. next time you fry up some fish, you gotta try this sauce with it.. mix up wasabi, mayo, and sour cream!! Equal parts, or to your preference! Trust me…
love to hear it! haha and I will def try it! love me some sauce!
Aa-ron......do the same frying tek but bf egg wash dry your fish 100% then roll in flour....then do the same procedure your doing.....its my secret I do and everybody who tries it raves how much better it is. Idk why but it does come out better.
will def give It a try thank you!
Best regards to you and Madalain, such a beautiful couple and your videos are spot on and so relaxing...thankyou UK ENGLAND 💞
🙏 thanks so much as always!
Love the videos, keep them coming!! Are you mostly fishing on Gulf side or Atlantic Side? I have always heard Gulf side is better. Not sure if thats true or not. Do you have a preference?
this day was gulf but I don't stuff on both sides. probably spend more time on the Atlantic.
So I'm turning 50 in August and was thinking about heading down there for a week and want to do a day or 2 of fishing. How would I get in touch with you for that. There will probably be a few of us going. Is there a discount for Veterans lol? Thanks dude, love the channel!
well happy early birthday! I actually stopped offering rod and reel trips unfortunately. just do spearfishing now. if you're looking for another great captain get with my good friend Zack. born and raised key west fisherman. tell him I sent ya! www.fishreelfresh.com
another great video !!! I really enjoy your laid back honesty and great diving and fishing
love to hear it!
Manits cold and ugly in NY but looking at this video I know where I would want to be, maybe soon I can move down S. to Florida where I can open my door and see your kind of view. So many mangrove snappers around. Who got it better than you. Great Viewing
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much for tuning in!
You get any sheepshead in the winter time?
If you know where to go we can find them yea. We don’t get a ton of them.
Another outstanding entertaining and informational video. Thank you very much for these. I love that little gun. Excited to hear that you’re working on a production of it, if I heard that right. In the meantime, you said is was 36”. Is that wood end to end length, or channel length? There are so many ways guns are measured that it’s hard to tell what’s what.
love to hear you enjoyed it! and yes its gonna be close to 36" muzzle to tip. I hear that haha
once the ghost trap has lost it's identifier buoy, it's considered trash and you can legally remove the trap. Just had a class/meeting with FWC concerning this.
I've always been told the opposite. especially if it has the trap tag on it still. but good to know!
Next time you're in the market for a pair of short deck boots, give the new Grundens a try. So much more comfortable than the Xtra tuffs and they don't split at the creases.
No affiliated but I do work on comershal boats in New England
I’ve heard they are good. Will have to give them a go!
You asked if we had any questions: Why are you such a badass?
😂
Special guest? Oh it's mada... Wait a minute lol
haha
