Aaron, nice video thanks. To keep the flopper from hanging down, just put a small weak rubber band on it to hold it against the shaft. When the head goes through the fish, the rubber band should roll back to the shaft and allow the flapper to do its job holding the fish. I’m thinking small rubber band like ladies use on ponytails, braids, etc.

Yes, that was a cowfish. I also call them boxfish. If you release them on shore into the surf they will briefly waddle (run) across the top water for 10-15ft, pretty neat to see.

Just goes to show that you don't need to go after the bigger species to have a great trip or meal. Fish cook looked and sounded very nice. My wife finds the panko to coarse as is so I run it in a processor to make it finer. It still leave a crispy coating. Be well.

    Recipe
    2 cup(s) fish stock
    1 cup(s) Irish potato, diced
    1 cup(s) pumpkin, diced
    4 medium okras, sliced
    1 pound(s) whole snapper
    1/4 cup(s) tomato, diced
1 teaspoon(s) Grace Caribbean Traditions Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) scotch bonnet pepper, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
    2 stalk(s) escallion, chopped
    1 sprig(s) thyme
    1 whole scotch bonnet pepper
    10 whole crackers
    Fancy's Jamaican Steamed Fish Directions
Pour fish stock in a large skillet and bring to a boil. Add Irish potato, pumpkin and okra; cover and leave to simmer for 10 minutes.
Slit fish on both sides, then stuff the cavity with half of the vegetables and seasonings (tomato, black pepper, scotch bonnet pepper, onion, garlic and escallion). Sprinkle with the remaining black pepper.
Place fish into the boiling fish stock and add the remaining garlic, tomato, onion, escallion, scotch bonnet pepper, thyme and a whole scotch bonnet pepper.
Spoon stock over the fish, cover and steam over medium flame for 10 minutes.
To Serve: Place fish on platter, add crackers then pour on the fish stock.
Method Note: Diced yam, string beans and carrots may be used; you can also add your favourite vegetables and starches.
Note: Fish stock is a flavourful liquid prepared by simmering meaty bones from meat or poultry, seafood and/or vegetables in water with aromatics (onion, celery, ginger, garlic and thyme) until their flavour, aroma, colour, body and nutritive value are extracted. The liquid is then strained and used to prepare sauces, soups and as a braising and simmering cooking medium.

Then remove oil ..add garlic onion, tomatoes cubes or tomato ketchup, and julienne of ginger and carrots. Salt to taste..A squeeze of lime..then pour on the fish.
You're living a life that others can dream of.

Ive searched multiple sites and the info is vague. Was hoping if you could give me your opinion. Also I would love to book a spear fishing charter with my son. Do you offer shallow water, mangrove, spearfishing, charters? Thank you and keep putting out great videos🌊🤙🏼

I may possibly offer shallow water trips on the Gheenoe when my new one comes in haven't decided yet!

Great video this week very relaxing!!! Love the backwater stuff on the skiff. I've done both skiffs and larger ocean boats I've always had more fun in the sounds creeks and rivers here in swansboro nc. Save a fortune on fuel having more fun. You ever pick up conch down there? February is the month to pick them up here. What we have is actually a welk but everyone calls them conch they look different than yours but are awesome to make stews. Basically I make mine like I would clam chowder replacing the clams with conch. Twice as good as clam chowder.

Another great video brother!!! I hit the snappers pretty good today too! My girl chose fish fry for dinner instead of lunch though haha. Anyway I just wanted to give a mini suggestion.. next time you fry up some fish, you gotta try this sauce with it.. mix up wasabi, mayo, and sour cream!! Equal parts, or to your preference! Trust me…

Love the videos, keep them coming!! Are you mostly fishing on Gulf side or Atlantic Side? I have always heard Gulf side is better. Not sure if thats true or not. Do you have a preference?

Another outstanding entertaining and informational video. Thank you very much for these. I love that little gun. Excited to hear that you’re working on a production of it, if I heard that right. In the meantime, you said is was 36”. Is that wood end to end length, or channel length? There are so many ways guns are measured that it’s hard to tell what’s what.

once the ghost trap has lost it's identifier buoy, it's considered trash and you can legally remove the trap. Just had a class/meeting with FWC concerning this.

I've always been told the opposite. especially if it has the trap tag on it still. but good to know!

Next time you're in the market for a pair of short deck boots, give the new Grundens a try. So much more comfortable than the Xtra tuffs and they don't split at the creases.
No affiliated but I do work on comershal boats in New England
