I really like these changes to Filibuster, I feel like PONOS had no real idea on what the role of this unit should've been because this unit seemed to supposedly be a crowd controller and a sniper yet fails in those regards. It doesn't also help that PONOS also tried to make this unit too similar to their enemy counterpart yet removed pretty much all aspect of the original concept (that being a unit with an extremely large attack animation but having a huge omni-strike with nuking damage). Still, I think these changes really help Filibuster fulfill his more crowd control role and honestly could make him pretty viable in many stages (Though if I'm being honest, his greatest improvement is an omni-strike that actually hits FORWARD).
I like the ideas, and I honestly don't dislike 4 trait targets as you described and actually really like the idea of making him a shield piercer to destroy massive walls of sheilds then freezing the akus in place to be taken down my your anti aku attackers, thats a really good design. My only concern would be, with such a long freeze duration, even with a long attack rate, stacking even 2 filibusters on a large group of enemies would completely trivialize an entire stage. And with such high survivability, getting a second one out before the first dies would not be difficult. Also most other super powerful crowd controller units do not target more than 2 traits, so with such a a powerful freeze duration, I feel like he may be a tad overtuned. I'd maybe tweek the balancing a bit more by increasing his recharge pretty drastically and give him another 50 or 75 piercing range to make up for the opportunity cost lost from a longer recharge. A 6 second freeze every 14 seconds is like a miniature Doron that remains present for a long time that targets 4 traits, and im all for it, but the whole niche with Doron is you can't stack him at all. I really like your updated unit design though, this video was awesome and thought provoking, very well done.
Personally, the only thing I felt he needed was more range and pierce, but your whole revamp of the concept blew me away, get this man on the ponos team

His inclusion practically warped the current meta into partially revolving around him, and instead of backpedalling and nerfing him, (you know, the easy, sensible way of solving how he so severely eclipsed other units) they instead jacked up behemoths to such absurd degrees that barely any other unit could conceivably deal with their gargantuan HP pools aside from Courier, which furthered how dominant he's presently become.

returning to battle cats after a 5 year hiatus, this content is nice, good production quality for a mobile game and the channel size especially, i think theres a better way to do the captions as the black bar clashes with the gameplay a lot, but it is far better than just putting words at the bottom, not sure what the fix would be just giving reasonable critique, enjoyed this production and will be watching more of your videos. if there was a way for ponos to actually see these that would certainly be something, but until then we can hope for the best and prepare for the worst
One stage I found use for filibuster is fighting the last stage against kappy kawano. I had none of the recommend Ubers for the stage, so aside from lil king dragon and cyberpunk, I decided to try using filibuster. To my surprise, he actually worked decently. He outranges the lethal threats, and as long as you keep the big guys in place, his freeze will give you some nice breathing room. I’m not saying he trivializes the stage, far from it. Lil king dragon definitely put in way more work. But I was happy to see he actually was at least decent. Getting at least 2 attacks off before dying was enough value for me. PLUS, this stage very late game and difficult. So it’s possible you can attain his true form before being able to beat this stage. Although MAN I agree that we need more units with omni strike that extends their range. Blanka is such a unique rusher because of his unique omni strike, I wanna see more units utilize it.
I love how you reworked his stats to be not too overpowered but still a valuable unit in the current meta. Hope ponos will actually consider making similar changes to filibuster in the near future. Great vid overall

I made a fillibuster concept where he did 1,000,000 damage per hit with a 5% chance for a 300% savage blow and 1250 max omni, but the downside us that he has 350 range, 45 second foreswing, and an 80 second attack interval. I tested him a bit and he seemed good but balanced

Overall, I love these changes. I’m iffy on the aku target/shield piercing, though it is balanced. I don’t think he should have floating target, but I do agree that meta filibuster should’ve been able to target ZL bosses, so it’s a good change for that reason. I’m just hoping that maybe there are other ZL bosses he can counter, but he doesn’t even have sage slayer, so it’s unlikely he’d work anyway. Honestly ponos should consider buffing this guy. I know they don’t do stage buffs/nerfs often, and I don’t think they’ve ever made any kind of significant change to a unit before, but unit changes have happened before, and I don’t think anyone would be upset seeing filibuster changed (especially since he doesn’t and literally couldn’t get any worse) Anyways, yet another great video and true form idea. Excited to see what else you have in mind for other units
i'm a big fan of meta-filibuster, and i think some of these changes are probably too overkill and unnecesary like aku targeting, shield piercing and sage slayer, but I do agree with upping the freeze time a bit and the omnistrike is something the unit should've had from the start. overall, it's not something i'd do because it does feel like way too much for a unit that doesn't really need big changes like new abilities or new targets
Good improvements, it makes metafilibuster actually meta in the gameplay but not like 4-crown Dasli (Esoteric Uril). It's already like Top 10 Legends though, but for the unit you get in endgame it's necessary.

Not a chance! Balancing units will not give more cash!!!!! Money is the driving force of battle cats! If units are good and balance there's no way people will pay for cat food and other garbage that ponos sales! No one will pay money of there's no hidden shit like filibuster's unfair and outright clunky mechanics. The devs plan it that way so players will lose and get frustrated and pay for cat food!
The chain was definitely worth it, one of the best i've seen, also filibuster is one of my favorite units so seen him get a redemption was great, hopefully they fix him with a 4th form...
i would like these changes but something i would like added to longer range units especially build ups like him is a check when they attack a starting check to detect the enemy units then use/charge the attack but before it is launched it does a second check to find the place of the unit closest to base to make sure the attacks actually you know work
i like this idea, at first i was thinking he should be kina like that one eva angel uber with terribly survivability and such but an amazing pierce/ld, but this feels good.
While I think Aku target and shield pierce are a bit overkill, I think these are some pretty nice changes. I especially like the idea of giving him sage slayer, considering there’s only one unit with it that doesn’t require UTs.
The way of Ponos is use a unit, beat a stage to get another unit, and replace if good. However, the changes isn't good, with the changes example targetting and freeze time isnt much usable. My suggestion is unlimited range, targets the same with the changes, and best of all, faster foreswing and lesser freeze time. Isn't broken like Dasli, and isn't too weak for bearing its stage
One way to make filibuster worth while is tinkering around with him to be able to be just like the sniper cat ability that way it reduces the amount of time he misses but not 100% accuracy just so the game is balanced and maybe a knockback ability. It just makes sense and possibl base destroyer ability as a talent
I suspect a few of those abilities would be made into Talents, because getting all of those at once on evolution seems like a lot. Not that it's unwarranted, but

i personally think he should also get more damage. like 100k-150k would be good. if we wanna give him the time bomb feel, we should give him the damage to really emphasize on his gimmick. because even thee improved version feels more like a ticking firecracker than a bomb.

Personally, I'd say to reduce KB to 12-14, move the range to 590/600, and like other special units where they get the shield pierce, but minus the trait, or reduce the % chance of shield pierce to still be reliable and keep the trait target for Aku, maybe not as low as something like researcher, but moving it from 100 to like 85%/90%, And take off 1 second of freeze, assumed combos hold up in end game, I see no reason a freeze up wouldn't aid at that point.. Just an opinion

I think instead it should freeze every one in the battle additionally having more knock backs will balance this thanks to the fact it will interfere with he’s attack animation also add talents these talents will be targets like can now target aliens but these will be expensive. The damage will remain the same but can’t hurt the enemy base. Also it could get knock back but to balance this the attack animation it longer and will have the most expensive talents in the game
One thing I absolutely hate about ponos and honestly main reason why I don’t give game near enough love anymore is ponos inability to just make the stupid attack animations match with how actual attack effects the enemy. There is so many dang animations especially for Ubers that look like they should do lot more splash damage, like mizuririn, subterra guardian, chronos, etc seem to just have only halfway the attack, it’s so frustrating how enemies just get micro second behind the stack while still in the animation and many times it just survives because animation is a lie and game is just being a pain.
If you’re taking about attack animations being inaccurate, look at the explosion of mighty recon korps 2nd and true form’s explosion and it damages not even half of the explosion, and not even 1/6th of the shockwave
Orbital platform Armageddon (mighty rekon 2nd form) is by far the worst offender of this Crazed Bahamuth, although not as bad, also suffers from this And Valkyrie, but again, not as much
Imagine reworking him to do what the boss would do like the I think it's 1 minute cooldown to oneshot everything the enemy has with I remember hearing 14 million dmg he can do without being weakened from treasures
I think its a little too op, maybe 70% chance to break shields, 25 less omni strike, and 5 second freeze. To compensate though maybe a little less recharge time. As another bonus 100% chance to break barriers bc he's in CoTC after all.
if only fili was this good, i already like to use fili alot due to me seeing alot of potential in him but if he recieved this type of buff it would make him in my opinion on of the best special cat legends, probably up there with mina urs and even dogumaru i would say
Idea: instead of 6 seconds freeze, why not add 8 seconds slow on top of the freeze? It could be implemented as a talent too, and it could be replaced by weaken or something too Also just to be more clear, I mean on top of the 4 second freeze, there is a 4 second slow after the freeze runs out.
Fili is good tho,not sure how these changes affect it. It already has the best mobility of any JGN and really good damage, and obstructa us basically undodgable in maps like rocketarena if you time it right. Not to mention how it's the only jgn that can't be stalled by speed boost items or night reaper. I think the jgn meta is fine at the moment
It's really interesting and pretty good balance but I hope ponos will keep their word as they never touch the units (imagine one milion updates about *balancing units* aka nerf every single one xd)
Shield pierce maybe, but sage slayer is downright good game design, a non-gacha counter to soc-whatever the name is would make the stage much less reliant on gacha/talents
My personal opinion is to just buff filibuster so that he did 3m damage( if thats real then make his attack rate super long like 3-4 min or sm) or just buff his attack speed dmg range and radius of the attack.
Honestly they should of made him be the first unit with ℅ damage that whay he is strong verse high hp targets/metal but weak to low hp/ shield and increase splash radias

Not a chance! Balancing units will not give more cash!!!!! Money is the driving force of battle cats! If units are good and balance there's no way people will pay for cat food and other garbage that ponos sales! No one will pay money of there's no hidden shit like filibuster's unfair and outright clunky mechanics. The devs plan it that way so players will lose and get frustrated and pay for cat food!

i would like these changes but something i would like added to longer range units especially build ups like him is a check when they attack a starting check to detect the enemy units then use/charge the attack but before it is launched it does a second check to find the place of the unit closest to base to make sure the attacks actually you know work
i like this idea, at first i was thinking he should be kina like that one eva angel uber with terribly survivability and such but an amazing pierce/ld, but this feels good.
While I think Aku target and shield pierce are a bit overkill, I think these are some pretty nice changes. I especially like the idea of giving him sage slayer, considering there’s only one unit with it that doesn’t require UTs.
The way of Ponos is use a unit, beat a stage to get another unit, and replace if good. However, the changes isn't good, with the changes example targetting and freeze time isnt much usable. My suggestion is unlimited range, targets the same with the changes, and best of all, faster foreswing and lesser freeze time. Isn't broken like Dasli, and isn't too weak for bearing its stage
I think to give him aku trait and shield break was too strong with his pierce.

One way to make filibuster worth while is tinkering around with him to be able to be just like the sniper cat ability that way it reduces the amount of time he misses but not 100% accuracy just so the game is balanced and maybe a knockback ability. It just makes sense and possibl base destroyer ability as a talent
His survivability sucks though, and most of the time he wouldn't even be able to finish his attack lol

Personally, I'd say to reduce KB to 12-14, move the range to 590/600, and like other special units where they get the shield pierce, but minus the trait, or reduce the % chance of shield pierce to still be reliable and keep the trait target for Aku, maybe not as low as something like researcher, but moving it from 100 to like 85%/90%,
And take off 1 second of freeze, assumed combos hold up in end game, I see no reason a freeze up wouldn't aid at that point.. Just an opinion

I think instead it should freeze every one in the battle additionally having more knock backs will balance this thanks to the fact it will interfere with he’s attack animation also add talents these talents will be targets like can now target aliens but these will be expensive. The damage will remain the same but can’t hurt the enemy base. Also it could get knock back but to balance this the attack animation it longer and will have the most expensive talents in the game
One thing I absolutely hate about ponos and honestly main reason why I don’t give game near enough love anymore is ponos inability to just make the stupid attack animations match with how actual attack effects the enemy. There is so many dang animations especially for Ubers that look like they should do lot more splash damage, like mizuririn, subterra guardian, chronos, etc seem to just have only halfway the attack, it’s so frustrating how enemies just get micro second behind the stack while still in the animation and many times it just survives because animation is a lie and game is just being a pain.
If you’re taking about attack animations being inaccurate, look at the explosion of mighty recon korps 2nd and true form’s explosion and it damages not even half of the explosion, and not even 1/6th of the shockwave
Orbital platform Armageddon (mighty rekon 2nd form) is by far the worst offender of this
Crazed Bahamuth, although not as bad, also suffers from this
And Valkyrie, but again, not as much

I think its a little too op, maybe 70% chance to break shields, 25 less omni strike, and 5 second freeze. To compensate though maybe a little less recharge time. As another bonus 100% chance to break barriers bc he's in CoTC after all.
if only fili was this good, i already like to use fili alot due to me seeing alot of potential in him but if he recieved this type of buff it would make him in my opinion on of the best special cat legends, probably up there with mina urs and even dogumaru i would say

Ramiel exists and is like filibuster but better. Cc ability isn’t great but having dodge and high damage but is rng dependent with the surge.
Idea: instead of 6 seconds freeze, why not add 8 seconds slow on top of the freeze? It could be implemented as a talent too, and it could be replaced by weaken or something too
Also just to be more clear, I mean on top of the 4 second freeze, there is a 4 second slow after the freeze runs out.

Fili is good tho,not sure how these changes affect it. It already has the best mobility of any JGN and really good damage, and obstructa us basically undodgable in maps like rocketarena if you time it right. Not to mention how it's the only jgn that can't be stalled by speed boost items or night reaper. I think the jgn meta is fine at the moment
i think just aku would be enough, you could maybe keep sage slayer for future sage enemies though. we will get more Socrates counters in due time

It's really interesting and pretty good balance but I hope ponos will keep their word as they never touch the units (imagine one milion updates about *balancing units* aka nerf every single one xd)
the safe slayer and shield pierce (plus the associated targets) were definitely overkill. the rest of the concept is cool though
Shield pierce maybe, but sage slayer is downright good game design, a non-gacha counter to soc-whatever the name is would make the stage much less reliant on gacha/talents
My personal opinion is to just buff filibuster so that he did 3m damage( if thats real then make his attack rate super long like 3-4 min or sm) or just buff his attack speed dmg range and radius of the attack.
