    The harder the foot hits the ground, reaction force provides the necessary momentum and force is rate of change of momentum with time , lesser the time of contact equals more force..

    I think this idea of hard pound to the ground is more effective on sprinters or milers. In marathon or 10k run i think this one is not ideal

    I wouldn't hit the ground harder on purpose though

    and also if you have the trade mill running at the same speed of course all of them will have the same pace. this theory is set to work that way

      I thought the same thing. But then again. Is it obvious that two men running the same speed would have the same stride frequency?

    I don't think this is all to it, they may hit the ground at the same pace but some cover more ground then others in one step

    I do wonder what the numbers say for 10k-42k runners.

      If you look up the professor in IMDB, you'll see the series is NOVA. From there you can expand it and find his name in the list. NOVA-Season 41 -Ep. 3 "Making stuff faster" The entire episode is on RUclips; search for it. You're welcome.

    Elite runners will run full marathon averaging ~15s 100m. Sprinting my ass..

    • @stayontrack
      @stayontrack 3 года назад +3

      that's not true. You're saying they are running 4 minute mile pace for 26 miles or 2:30 min/km pace for 42km. Not true, if they did that they would run the marathon in 1 hour 45 minutes...

    • @fares3651
      @fares3651 3 года назад

      @@stayontrack well, I did the calculation in my head.. yeah, the pace is 17.1 s/100m for 2hrs marathon.
