Those eyes are so subtly invading. She probably ran men off with her "look through your soul" stare. The world was much too fake for a real lady like this. More of a fan than ever before.
She said a lot that I really don’t hear highlighted in documentaries about her. Like, she owned 3 businesses, finding and teaching black talent and also READ YOUR CONTRACTS and learn the business. She had a sense of humor too 🥰
@Angel Johnson please read the strength of a woman , her biography, written by Jason A Michael. Phyllis as well as other sibling were diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Phyllis chose to self medicate with pills and alcohol. She didn't like how the meds made her feel and she thought meds would take away from her talent. It's all in the book that can be purchased from Amazon. I bought 2 books, have read them several times. Jason A Michael did a superb job with this book. His book is the next best thing to her having a documentary movie about her life.
@Angel Johnson unfortunately Angel she was. In the book it stated that she could have gotten the role of Sugg in the movie , The Color Purple. Spoiler alert .... get the book. If you're a true Phyllis Hyman fan, it's a must have !!
Phyliss hyman has alwayz been..an always will be..The DIVA amoungst divas..very much under appreciated an very much so deserves a movie or her songs sang by artist in her memory...
I feel like this happens so much to people all alone. Maybe their soulmate died early or wasn't placed on this plane of existence at the same time. Soooooo many lonely broken hearts not understanding why..
She`s beautiful but when she blares her eyes like that I wonder if that was a nervous habit or something else. She seems very confident but looks can be deceiving and I also notice she seems to `go somewhere` when she`s not actually talking . I know she suffered with depression unfortunately so there`s no telling.
That incident was talked about in the book on her called Strength Of A Woman. I think she’s holding back here because I think she went nuts about that as she often did.
Question for u guys??? I've heard people say Phyllis was on heavy antidepressants and that might have been the cause for the eye thing she does. What y'all think?
I've been noticing that.. I love her but knowing her history it seems though as maybe did was on cocaine due to her depression. Especially when she was messing with her nose..
Yes it was the cocaine making her do that. Reminds me of Dennis Edwards from The Temptations. His video "don't look any further" the beginning of the video, people thought he was chewing gum. He wasn't..
@Angel Johnson she didn't? I read the book that was written by Jason A. Michael and it states that she not only suffered from bipolar, but had some siblings that also were diagnosed with bipolar disorder ??

She is so well versed, and eloquent in her speech. Beautiful lady.
Phyllis was so intelligent, and articulate. had she not had a mental illness. I could envisioned her being the Oprah Winfrey of the music industry.

@Angel Johnson you're welcome. You will enjoy it .
Glenda Fitzpatrick ummm but it wasn’t written by her or people close to her was it now. I think it was deeper than being “mentally ill” but go off
Phyllis was very intelligent, and articulate.
Absolutely!! A Beautiful sista!!
@@rcoll60743 She could never understand that she was beautiful on the inside.
Just a few things that makes her so majestic 😻🔥

She`s beautiful but when she blares her eyes like that I wonder if that was a nervous habit or something else. She seems very confident but looks can be deceiving and I also notice she seems to `go somewhere` when she`s not actually talking . She had bipolar
She throw a shade to Michael Jordan LOL
Angel Johnson he was the only popular ball player on the Chicago bulls
That incident was talked about in the book on her called Strength Of A Woman. I think she’s holding back here because I think she went nuts about that as she often did.
Why does she keep making her eyes larger?
I think it’s a tick. She was doing it in videos as far back as the 70’s too.
What's up with her eyes? They get wide sometimes.
She’s using drugs
@@birdeyes200 not that ots because she has bipolar
Phyllis?Was Very Intelligent
The late Phyllis Hyman sounds like Oprah Winfrey when she talks. She sounds like Toni Braxton when she sings. :) :) :)
Brandon Harris you mean Toni Braxton sings like Phyllis when she sings
LOL...but Phyllis, having a better range, could sing circles around Toni
@@Zenguy89 Yep cause she was here 1st.
@@tasams Exactly
She sounded like PHYLLIS LINDA HYMAN and no one else.
@gary. yes.
Sad for this talented sounds like she's been abused by evilness
Question for u guys??? I've heard people say Phyllis was on heavy antidepressants and that might have been the cause for the eye thing she does. What y'all think?
Sean Jenkins idk why it is but I’ve been noticing it the whole time watching 😏 it makes me cringe a lil . I love her and her music tho
I've been noticing that.. I love her but knowing her history it seems though as maybe did was on cocaine due to her depression. Especially when she was messing with her nose..
Jada Bibbs wow that’s soo crazy , I didn’t even realize the bothering of the nose or maybe I did but didn’t know cocaine could’ve been the issue also
Yes it was the cocaine making her do that. Reminds me of Dennis Edwards from The Temptations. His video "don't look any further" the beginning of the video, people thought he was chewing gum. He wasn't..
Sadly, it was caused from cocaine use. If you check out her book, “Strength of a Woman,” it goes into great detail.
Phyllis was so intelligent, and articulate. had she not had a mental illness. I could envisioned her being the Oprah Winfrey of the music industry.
