I have to add to all the praise here - I am also creating a budget and have been getting my brain tangled up in knots watching Excel videos... you are the first person to actually make this easy and accessible. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for this and your other tutorial videos! Using what I learn to create a dynamic budget tracker and your videos have proven to be indispensable.
@@techteachersandstudents Do you have videos on how to extract data from a single cell? I'm doing something where you need to separate the data from a single cell into 3 columns (Date, Description and Amount). And it says every column has different formulas. I cant find any videos, and I have no idea what that formula is😓.
Great explanation. I noticed your range references are based on something like Table1[column] instead of, eg, D2:D25. Do you have a video that explains how that is set up?
I just subscribed. Could you please review the link you posted to download the Excel file for us to practice with? That link does not work to download the file, but to take us to the tutorial video instead. I have tried those links to download other files and they don''t work either, they take us to the same video tutorial, not to download the actual file to practice. Thanks!!
Thanks for reaching out about this. I'm not sure why that's happening, but it's happening for me too. Maybe RUclips changed the way links work in their descriptions. I'm not sure. However, if you copy the link and paste it into your browser search bar, doing so should make it download to your computer's downloads folder. It's working for me at least. Please try that. Thanks!
apply conditional formatting to range you want highlighted: select range > condition > specify highlighting desired e.g. "red background" > based on a formula > =A1B1

Select the range, and turn them into a table by clicking on "Format as Table". The next time you select the range, it will appear as you described.

hello, great video, can you share this excel sheet for us to practice? thanx in advance .
Can I substitute subtotal for sumifs?
thanks. How would we frame this if we wanted to sum any format of >$5? Where would we include that in the formula?
=SUMIFS(E2:E10;E2:E10;">5")
how did you make those title cells with the drop menu ex. "formula, genre" ?
Can you use 2 selections from the same criteria range? e.g. if you want the cost of mystery and horror in the same sum, cheers.
That's a very useful formula.
Very helpful, thanks a lot

Great video. Do you have a video that totals up 2 ranges and highlights if they don't match ?
apply conditional formatting to range you want highlighted: select range > condition > specify highlighting desired e.g. "red background" > based on a formula > =A1B1
