Thanks for this great tutorial! It was exactly what I needed for a project I was working on. You've saved me a lot of time! I was wondering if there was a way to sum between certain values? So if column F had the values that you wanted to sum and column G had values 1-10 based on certain criteria would it be possible to sum all the values in F between each occurrence of the number 1 in column G? So the sum of all the values when G is 2-10 until there is another 1 in column G and the sum starts again.
    Thanks

what if i want to exclude 2 criterias of 2 different ranges if they come together! for example, i want to sum the qty, excluding only the ones where [part] "-C-" 's versions are green!! so exclude all green "-C-", other "-C-" are in, other greens are in too. only "-C-" green is excluded... is there a function for it?

What if I do not want to put the letter - B - in the =SIMIFS formula. But instead want to reference a cell.
We well say I want to refence cell C12.
So, in the formula I use “*C12*” and this is not working.
How can I reference a cell, where I can enter partial information and get results?

Awesome stuff, but what if Green was a cell reference. Say the word green was in A10 and you wanted to sum everything that was not equal to green. =sumifs(G2:G9,E2:E9"A10") and any variant I can see doesn't work. Is it possible to exclude a reference from the sumifs?

Sir, can u help me with my problem.. I have a table data which contains Column A (DATE in DD/MM/YYYY), Column B (working shift which is AM, PM, ON), Column C (working area code which is A, B, C, D)..Column D (worker's name) but Column D is not included in this formula.. Lastly, F3 cell which is to search a specific date (in DD/MM/YYYY format) My formula is, =COUNTIFS(A3:A100,"="&F3,B3:B100,{"AM","PM","ON"},C3:C100,{"A","B","C","D"}) So, the problem is, the formula didn't count my desire multiple criteria correctly..it just count for the date I search, for AM shift ONLY for working area in A B C..I need the formula to count the date I search for AM PM ON shift for working area in A B C D..
    Help me, sir..

    can you explain wild character

    • @TeachExcel
      @TeachExcel  6 лет назад

Those are mentioned toward the end of the video. Basically, these characters let you match the beginning or ending part of a cell instead of having to match all of its contents; this is the simplest way to explain it. We also have a tutorial on teach excel that explains it in more detail: www.teachexcel.com/excel-tutorial/1896/wildcards-in-excel?src-yt

Unfortunately this tutorial doesnt mention how to account for multiple criteria from a single column.
For example I can tell Excel to create a sum total of money from all lines that contain the value "Paypal".
    =SUMIFS(B3:B100, D3:D100, "Paypal")
But excel wont allow me to add multiple criteria from the same criteria range.
Example: I want to create a sum total of all payments designated as coming from Paypal, Zelle, Cash app, ect.
The seemingly obvious formula should look like this....But doesnt work. Anybody have a suggestion of what Im doing wrong?
    =SUMIFS(B3:B100, D3:D100, "Paypal",D3:D100,"Zelle",D3:D100,"Cash app")
