Thank you for your tutorial for example I want to create the division for the student and the data we use is grade A,B,C,D,F but A=1 B=2, C=3 D=4 And F= 5 and student has did nine subject with the following Grade
Physics =B
Chemistry= C
Biology = B
Geography. = C
Civics = D
English = D
Kiswahil = A
History = F
Mathematics= A
Where by division 1 is when a student get point 7- 17
Dvs 2 = 18- 22
Dvs 3 = 23- 25
Dvs 4 = 26 -33
Dvs 0 = 34- 35
How can I add the data while the sum is for only seven passed well subject ?

In that case u need to use function 'AND' along with SUMIFS.... AND function to check whether he/she has passed ALL subjects...

you may be right... but I find this real-life scenario.... drop-down is useful when we work on the same set of data... there are many tutorials, say for example VLookup, where I have used drop drown. but as I said earlier, you may be right. Thanks for your feedback.
