    Yes, the sound is incredible on the V8s, and the cost reflects that, and honestly with things the way they are now, feeding and insuring a GT as a daily driver, I'm glad I opted for the 4 instead of the GT...

  • @FoYo1005
    @FoYo1005 4 года назад +34

    I think your conclusion is spot on. If you want a fun daily driver, the Ecoboost is great. If you're putting on only a few thousand miles a year as your weekend toy, maximize the fun of the sound and feel and get the V8.

    • @BoopSnoot
      @BoopSnoot 3 года назад +7

      Look at resale value of Ecoboosts. If you buy a new one, your actual cost of ownership is likely to be identical to the GT, because the GT has less than a 3% increase insurance premium price, but has a WAAAAY higher resale value. If you're going to buy an Ecoboost, buy a used one because tons of people buy them and regret it and the market is flooded with really high depreciation ones.

    Traded a '18 GT for a HPP with handling pack. Never looked back. Unbelievable handling and lots of torque. It's not going to beat a GT in the quarter, but 0-60 is almost a dead heat. And you need a PP2 to get close roadholding. You must get the handling pack with this car, it's a must have. Magnaride is awesome.

    • @mustang2O2O

      I bought one with the handling pack too. I can't believe how great and confidence inspiring it feels on the new england roads around where I live. This car is a bends dream come true. Spent more than a GT would run and said the exact same thing. I won't buy a GT without the PP2, ever. Especially after driving this for 10k miles so far

    Ford made seven different models of Mustang for 2020. Each was designed to fill a specific market, the HPP was designed to do track days and autocross at an affordable price point. The HPP coupe with the handling package is a flat out great autocross car and damn fun in the mountain twisties. If you want to race from stop light to stop light, get a GT, Bullitt or a GT500.

    There is nothing like an American V8. The sound is half of the coolness factor

    • @jacksabbath7986
      @jacksabbath7986 3 года назад +1

      Cristiano, you are very ignorant about V8 cars if you think the USA is the only nation making great V8 cars as well as the fastest cars. Mercedes Benz, BMW, & Audi make the fastest & incredible sounding cars with V8's man. Not only do those German Hot Rods sound better than any U.S. car ever made but they will blast by any American car ever made except for the 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Red Eye. It doesn't matter what they cost, since you wrote there is nothing like an American V8. The problem with our people here in the states is how full of crap we all are with stupid remarks like what you just said. It would be great to fool ourselves & be the best instead of always saying USA, USA, USA while the rest of the world is passing us by because our dumbass government is so stupid to give all our money away to everyone who comes here illegally, or destroy our nations military because Democraps hate the military, or take apart our awesome Constitution because so many traitors are selling us all out. We used to make the best V8's in the world, but our ALLIES & OUR ENEMIES are passing us by because our friggin' government run by Democraps are selling us all out & weakening this once great nation. Demoncraps like Obama forced Americans to buy Japanese cars in 2009 with his CASH FOR CLUNKERS bill, that told folks to dump their older American cars with the help of the U.S. gov so you could buy Jap cars which killed the American auto-makers. We keep getting screwed by our own gov who doesn't give a shot about the words "MADE IN AMERICA" so watch how much you applaud our cars when we are behind everyone else & are making crappy cars thanks to the idiots in DC. Those Democraps have become anti-American Socialists who hate our guts. Instead of those D.C. political hacks working for us, they are threatening us with joblessness, a dead economy, killing manufacturing, & stupidity.

    Well what I got, was the 2021 Mustang EcoBoost HPP with all the track options. #M0276. And I'll tell you why. For less than 40,000 Dollars American I was able to get a track toy that would put Mustang GT owners to shame on a track. I know this because I have put Mustang GT owners to shame on a track. Unless you have spent well over $60,000 you are not able to touch the performance I have for under $40k. Not only that, but you can't have that fun all day like I can without fading brakes, overheating and general bad mechanical times. To put it simply, the 2021 EcoBoost HPP is one of the best values for the money for a track toy I have come across.

Personally I'd get the 2.3 HPP coupe on the lowest level trim that I could get, add a few choice options, and drive the heck out of it. The superior Hemi V8 is so fast that these cars can get away from Poice helicopters in seconds as they will NOT pursue them. Well, 42k for a four cylinder is not that great when you can get a coupe gt loaded out for around same price. Also has around 130hp more and does the 0-60 1.5 seconds faster. Perhaps the front may handle slightly better due to less weight over the front wheels. And let’s be honest, you aren’t sticking any real human above 12 years old in those back seats.

    • @M4B21S88

      The GT is rated at 3.9 sec (auto), 4.7 sec (manual) as the best it should be able to go in a 0-60 run.
      Mustang HPP rated at 4.5 sec (auto), 4.9 sec (manual) as the best it should be able to go in a 0-60 run.
      Non HPP EB rated at 5.1 (secs as the best it should be able to go in a 0-60 run.
      GT vs HPP is only .5 seconds difference.
      Now, rated numbers are NOT easily achievable, especially so for the GT. Plenty of '18 +GT owners getting 4.3 - 4.7 (auto) secs under GOOD circumstances. Rated numbers VS real world.
      Im on the mustang6g forum, there's already a FEW HPP owners reporting some 0-60 runs, 4.8 secs with AUTO as the best SO FAR, and low 13's 1/4 mi.
      The biggest difference between the v8 and others: SOUND.
      Im in central FL, plenty of HPPs going for 32 -33 grand.
      A fully loaded HPP vs a fully loaded GT is around a 10 grand difference, gotta compare apples to apples.

    The V8 is obviously the choice of my balls and my mustache decorated face - a V8 engine also lasts forever and it’s a V8 besides being a V8. I wonder how many miles the turbo EcoBoost will achieve before having serious issues. I don’t understand why they didn’t maintain a V6 instead. On a serious note I wonder what the V8 resale value will be when Greta from Sweden gains even more fans. I have seen some longterm driving reviews that said that EcoBoost fuel economy wasn’t that much better compared to a gently driven V8...
    I will always tell myself to go for the economic option and cave at dealership and definitely drive of with the V8 - Life is too short for EcoBoost

      A little critical are we? What are you comparing it to? Love my 17’ GT Premium, it’s not a BMW, Benz or Audi but it’s a good value for the performance and price and it is comfortable for daily driving.

    Eco boost sucks as does that junkie problem proned 10 speed transmission. There was an Ecoboost Mustang stopped at the traffic lights next to us. We rolled down the window to listen to it take off. It sounded just like a sewing machine. Yuck 🤢. I felt bad for the guy. Good review.

      Honestly outside of the GT Supercar and two Shelby everything Ford sounds like ass.
      Stock Coyote exhaust makes the Stang sound like a Harley. Gotta get the Corsa if you want it sound like proper V8.

    This BS engine sound is the worst I have ever heard in my life. Six cylinder engines from the 60's are better. Ford has always lead the world in building crappy cars. The Maverick, Pinto, Edsel, Comet, Escort, Tempo, Focus, Fiesta, Mustang II, & the horrible Explorer just to name a few. I am so ashamed of the way the USA is falling lower & lower each day. Are we stupid, crazy, losers, liars, dumb, cruel, angry, or just the worst human beings who ever lived? WTF is going on.
