Simply genius you just opened up a whole new can of worms. You just brought pan frying to a whole new level. Thinking out the box is still alive and well. U R the MAN. Stay safe brother.
Brother!!!! Thank you for this! I have been looking for a great way to cook fries on the BS!!! I am Brett from the WALTWINS, and we are doing fish and chips soon, and these fries are the best!!! From blanching to the rack being covered... crisped them up perfectly! We will definitely give you a big shout, bro!🤙🏻
What prevents u from just using a pot filled w oil outside on griddle.? I imagine it would take a while to get hot enough but other than that it would be terrrific I think
Why don't you just put a pan or foil pan on the griddle with oil in it instead of cooking at the edges of the griddle with splatters? Gotta admit the fish does look good though.
Oh man that looks delicious. My mouth is watering for some fish and chips. I also like a good homemade tartar sauce and yours looked amazing with some Dukes.
Man u got me wanting to do this in my cast iron pans now with the frozen Gordon's fish sticks. I did the Nathan's famous fries yesterday in the skillet and the wife and kid loved it
Yo big cat how's it going my friend would have never thought to shallow Fry on my Blackstone great thinking out of the box and man those English style fish and chips looked awesome one of my all-time favorites thanks for sharing have a great day
I just got the 22" blackstone and it runs 400 degrees and up on LOW. Surely this isn't normal. It is seasoned well and works good just crazy hot on low. Is this normal?
Mine runs hot as well, you just need to figure out where its hotter and adjust. I find that the center is the hottest and the outsides are cooler. This is the smallest griddle Blackstone makes with 2 burners. It is great to be able to shut one off but it does run hot when both are on. I also have the 28" and it runs much cooler. Don't give up on the 22" though, it is a great griddle.
Do you think it is possible to use a cast iron skillet on the Blackstone griddle to heat up some oil and put the potato fries into the oil when it gets hot say 320 to 350 to cook the fries and be cooking the fish on the rest of the griddle? Just wondering! J.R.
Dang Mike!.....Like how you use the Blackstone for shallow frying great idea and the Fish and Chips looks super DELISH . Great content as always my brother. Cheers!
Damn, ain't nothing you can't do on that Blackstone Mike..lol...looked pretty darn good ,definitely got the crunch👍 thanks for sharing brother, have yourself a great weekend, you all stay safe!👍🍻
Frying indoors is no bueno. I use a similar method with my Griddle on the charcoal grill so I was intrigued to how you’d pull this off on the flattop. Fantastic color on the fish. Malt vinegar for me as well! Cheers Mike!
Man that meal looks off the chain, you outdone yourself once again. Listen Big Cat I understand it may not be the most healthy meal but according to the health experts 80-90% of what we eat is not healthy, you only live once you have to enjoy yourself now and then, everything in moderation.
Oh yes. I'm doing fish and chips today, but in the deep fryer. I have not mastered the Blackstone like you have Big Cat! Yours turned out looking soooooo goooood!
Everything looked so good. I have the same Blackstone Griddle at home. A defiant must try. Keep it up.
Thanks Bruno, appreciate you brother!!!
Simply genius you just opened up a whole new can of worms. You just brought pan frying to a whole new level. Thinking out the box is still alive and well. U R the MAN. Stay safe brother.

I've done that before and it does take some time to heat up. When I do I usually use a cast iron skillet and shallow fry. Thanks for the comment!!!
Awesome looking fish and chips Mike. I always set my blackstone up that way, figure I can push unwanted grease/oil to the drain as needed.
Thanks Skip, appreciate you brother. Yeah I might just leave it like that.
I like this idea i am going to put thin strips of wood under the legs !
Why don't you just put a pan or foil pan on the griddle with oil in it instead of cooking at the edges of the griddle with splatters? Gotta admit the fish does look good though.

I'm with you, only get to go around once in this life!!!
Can you do it with out the beer
Absolutely, I would say substitute the beer with sprite or ginger ale.
@@cookingwithbigcat thank you
I love fish and chips. This looks amazing. I’m wanting a black stone more than ever now.
Get yourself one Buddy, they are very reasonably priced for the smaller ones. Thanks for watching!!
