Nintendo 64 Flashcart For Under $50! The Super 64

- Опубликовано: 22 июн 2020
- As you might be able to guess Super 64 Retro Game Card 340 in 1 Game Cartridge for N64 Video Game Console has 340 games in one cartridge. I believe this is a clone or knockoff or whatever of the ED64 Plus, which is very similar to an Everdrive 64.
I go over how how the interface works, what games are on it, how the games play, how to update the firmware, and even how to add alternative firmware onto the cart.

Had a terrible experience with this "Alt64" firmware, the save system seems super wonky. Transfered my saves from previous firmwares, on resets it would revert to older saves, and sometime to a completely new save file. Tried putting back the old save and my save got wiped 3 times before I gave up and put the original firmware back. No cheat codes but at least it works solid
setting it up also seems super wonky, i wouldn't really recommend it. Thank you for sharing your experience
Yea that alt64 is to be avoided it somehow glitches everything won’t blame the chips or anything but that firmware is a downdate not an update idiot who made it should take it down
Mine arrived today from Aliexpress and I will say it is REALLY good. This is the best bang for the buck when it comes to N64 flash carts. Everything you throw at it just works. I have tested hundreds of games, NES roms (it includes a NES emulator as well) as well as a ton of homebrew (demos, emulators) from back in the day and it all just works. The cart in hand is heavy and feels like it is very good quality....I am not sure pictures of it online do it justice in that department. The shell is not cheap...it feels like a real N64 cart shell. And it fits in the N64 smoothly...just like an official game. I can wholeheartedly recommend this.
Interesting 🤔🤔 so what other emulators can this play with it and you add more 64 games to this I'm thinking about getting one
@@kevinbbadd Of course. Its built just as well as the official Everdrive.
EverDrive is ridiculously overpriced. Im glad this company makes them cheaper.
Which one…..?
It plays doom I mean real pc version doom so that’s a nice addition I belive I can play msx2 roms also. some good goldeneye hacks like gold finger and goldeneye x deffo recommend this flash cart value just don’t go tinkering with the firmware keep as is and add the roms you like
My cousin ordered this from Etsy and I must say I was amazed. Every game on one cartridge. And he had cheats
Any way you could get the link from the cuz? 😁
Does it save games
@@bangalybashir94 it does, but you need to hit the reset button before turning off the console. most people miss this step and think it doesn't work. basically the same as an everdrive 64 x5 model.
this cartridge is wonderful! I'm even playing game boy color games on it on n64. the process is simple, just convert the games on the site called gb64 and put them in a folder at the root of the sd card and that's it. But for the save state to work correctly, before entering the game, press R to turn on the force sram option. so the save state works by pressing c down to save and holding c up to load. every time you enter the game you have to remember to press R and turn on the force sram... But everything works fine and the save keeps after resetting the console and turning it off. sorry for my english
The background is from an Argentinian Football team called Club Atlético River Plate (CARP)...funny Easter egg XD
New sub number 497
I wonder if he hates Boca Juniors 😏
how do I save my games on the thing?
hi, is it possible to update the firmware in a way that allows you to see the games artwork from the menu? or something like what can be done with Hakchi for SNES mini? thanks a lot in advance
@Laserfights Can you tell me if the cartridge is held together with Phillips Head screws or the Nintendo ones?
I've just ordered one off the interwebs and I'm already thinking of painting it gold!!
with the SRAM games on the ED 64 knockoff I think you have to hold down reset for the game to save properly. it seems this could even be better than the ED64 if you do not need to go through this step!
Not necessary to "hold" reset
. Just reset and then you can turn the console off. Original everdrive 2.5 has this same feature.
I am having problems saving NES games. For example, I am trying to save my created team in Baseball stars for NES and it
asks me to name the save and I do and confirm and then when I load the game back up after hitting reset, the save is gone. What am I doing
wrong? I also get the current controller pack is not formatted properly every time I try to save. I format it every time, save the game and the
save is gone the next time I play it and the screen comes back that asks me to format.
I thought I read somewhere that there is a setting that will make the games less blurry and more sharp and modern. Where is that setting?
What are some tips and tricks to make full use of it?
I thought I read somewhere that there is a setting that will make the games less blurry. Where is that setting?
Curious, did you try a faster better quality SD card for use in AL64 to see if the menu speed improves?
Anyone else having problems getting this thing to function? all I get is a blue screen despite cleaning all the things and jiggling the cartridge around.
Dear friend, how are you ... I wanted to ask you if this cartridge, which is the same one I have, can be loaded with cheats to the games ... please help since I don't know how to do it and I have searched on youtube and I do not get the solution to my query .... thank you very much in advance!
I only have one question, will it allow mutiplayer on golden eye? I have another rom device that will not. Not sure if it's because the device can't handle it or a bad rom.
"That's not good" lmao... Thanks for the review. I'm gonna pick one up myself :)
I have it for 64 it works perfectly no lie
@Andrew Andrew yup just have to push the reset button before you turn the console off
Unfortunately my SD card for this corrupted. Would anykne be able to make a copy of the SD card and upload for me? Happy to pay for a working copy
Do you know if this thing will let you run European games on ntsc? I’ve heard the Tasmanian devil game that’s pal exclusive is specifically finicky
I was under the impression that it would let you but I will test it later and see
What I need is something that lets me put my own carts on one.
How do I get the pal ed64p update?
Hey there great video! I just picked up one, do you know how to fix some games that have a black screen when you start them up? WWF No Mercy isn't loading for me. Thank you and thanks you for the video to!
@@Alan-yw8dt yeah man :( I still haven't found a way to fix it either! It's a shame cause that's my favourite N64 game of all time, have you managed to fix yours?
Basically get a new copy of the rom.
I wanna buy it but I wonder is it playing the same way as the normal games ? And can we save ? Remove the cartridge from the system and wait a few seconds... return back the cartridge see if the save is still there ? So when u brought it. It wasn't updated right? Most of the games work without the pack? Actually e ... means Europe
haven't had any issues yet. it wasn't updated. I've only saved via the normal method in games but they have all been fine so far.
what do the region slots in the bottom of the cart look like? cuz im in some kinda paradox where importing japanese consoles r really cheap for me. my blue n64 w ram pak, and a goemon game. was only 90$
it has a double side slot so it will work with either region
In the game Star Wars Shadows of the Empire I made it to mission 3 but was unable to save my progress. How do I go about doing that??? Please help
Should be able to just press reset before powering off for a proper save. Not sure if he talks about that in the video. Also, not sure if that's what you're talking about though
Does anyone know if a N64 game shark will work with this???
is the alt 64 firmware any good? Im fine with how the original operates, but im curious to know if alt 64 is worth using. thanks.
I’m about to purchase one I have n64 console, and I want to play it but the games so expensive nowadays.
I just got mine this morning, is there something you need to do to get it to detect the expansion pak? any game that requires it gives me the warning that it's not in the system
for the save state to work correctly, before entering the game, press R to turn on the force sram option. so the save state works by pressing c down to save and holding c up to load. every time you enter the game you have to remember to press R and turn on the force sram...
What do you use to display the n64?
I just got one yesterday and everything seems to be working well. I know how to save game progress, but what I’m confused about is how to delete progress to free up space in the future. Is this possible? And can it be done directly from the cartridge or do you have to insert it into a computer?
How do you save?
@@adriancastillo6787 You hold down the reset button for about 5 seconds before turning your console off. Some people say you just have to press it but I hold it just in case.
@@taylork6015 yeah but like on sram?
I believe it’s pretty much the same process. You should be able to access your saved files on the 1st page menu to double check. You can change the different save choices by pressing L or R buttons
@@taylork6015 Thank you it worked.
Can anyone help me? I can’t save on my cartridge, I tried holding the reset button for ten seconds but it didn’t reset and so I held it for about 15 seconds and turned off the console and went back in the game and it didn’t save. Can anyone help?
Try just pressing reset button, not holding it down.
Hello mate, have you noticed any lag in certain games or they all play fine as on original cartridge?
11:05 boxart, what can you do with it?
lol, the River plate background
Hi there. Can i run 64dd roms ? I have super 64 Cartridge.
I have a question how do you save in it i tried normal saving and evertime i go back ots erased
You have to hold the reset button
Is it possible to use cheats with this? I bought one, working great but wanted to use the dealer and AA removal hacks to sharpen up the image quality. :)
If you mess with updating the firmware, you should be able to. I had updated mine but it was acting strange so I reverted it. You may have better luck than me
@@laserfights I've always heard that updating the firmware on these knockoff flashcarts wasn't a good idea due to them potentially having slightly different hardware. Unfortunately, don't believe there is official support for the Super 64
How in the hell do you save the data on each game? Its has alot of different features like FLASH force Flash , RAN SRAM AND ALL KINDS OF OTHERS FOR EACH DAMN PAGE -.-..might just have to but alot of memory packs

Mine doesn't work. Console will turn on but no picture or audio, as if there were no cartridge. Can anyone help?
Hi! Have you checked the switch on the top of it is set on the correct regione (matching the one of your console and tv)?
Edit:
N is for ntsc and pal is for Europe
@@ArikIkirA Yeah, I tried both settings. Other cartridges work just fine.
@@FormulaFanboy Maybe the problem is defective hardware. Have you tried to check if the sd card has all files in order (or files at al) I might share mines if you need.

After updating the firmware I can't launch any games I'm just stuck on black screen
i had a few times where I had messed something up and had to just use an older firmware
I was able to load the alt setup into my card however when I launch a game the screen just goes black any suggestions
i had a ton of trouble with the alt setup, i think i had to copy over from files from it and mix them with the original and it took forever for me to get it and i dont remember what worked cuz i probably just got lucky lol

Great vid, so can I just buy the and load it up on any n64 console?
you shouldnt need to buy anything else, if that's what you're asking
@@laserfights Well, it didn't work for me.
Hey great vid btw idk if you're still replying but does this work with a HDMI adapter?? Do you know if this requires an expansion pack?
I am under the impression that it does not but if they game requires it that it would still need an expansion pack. Unfortunately, I only have the expansion pack and can't test it without it.
It does work without the expansion pack.
Requires it for games that require it
I have it works but I took it out and put it back in it has no signal can someone help me
can you give me any more info on what happened?

Can I do all of this on a Mac? Or do I need a PC?
i dont see why you couldnt do it on a mac
Did it turn out that you could update the software to support cheats?
yes but it was very finicky

We need an updated version of this. It cost like 120 dollars on Amazon right now. Also you can't have HD on this?
aliexpress is your friend
Are all the games on it? And is it the full version of the games or like mini version? Have you noticed that the games run slower than usual while playing or is it the same as playing on a regular single game cartilage?

so i got a memory pak but it’s still not saving majora’s mask for me lol
Bought mine for $120 on Amazon. I have been generally surprised.
You overpaid
You got ripped off my dude, it normally costs $50 from china
Hopefully you bought the Krikzz Everdrive at that price and not this knockoff. Would be interested in seeing the internals of this and an official everdrive.
Is it possible to add mod n64 games onto the sd card?
yep
@@laserfights How? I put the micro-sd card into my computer to add some romhacks, and it wanted to format the micro-sd card along with the games/firmware on it! I don't want to get rid of my games, I want to add more to my existing collection that came with the Super64!
it didn't ask me to format whenever I plugged mine in
@@laserfights You're right! I took the card out of my PC, put it back into my Super64, took it out and put it back into my PC... and now it's suddenly reading it! Weird! Time to add some romhacks! ^o^
Has anyone been able to add Gameboy, SNES, Sega Master or MAME games to this?
SNES is super easy to add… the other though… I don’t know about I spent hours trying to ad Gameboy and MAME. I never tried Sega
The emulators aren't really good imo, you'd have a better time just homebrewing a nintendo console
Would you care to try Ogre Battle 64 and see how it runs. Don't have to do a video or anything. When I emulate the text boxes are pretty bad. I have it on Wii U but... I no longer have the Wii U. Would love to finish it.
It should work since it's on N64 Hardware, the WII U has bad emulation for N64
1. Does this have the games pre loaded already on the ad card
2. Does this play rom hacks?
Everything I had on here is preloaded. I am under the impression that rom hacks should work but I have not tested it myself
@@laserfights ok thank you! Have a nice day! ^^
@@thisgal422 rom hacks work only if the hack was made compatible for console and not just compatible for emulator.
@@1upgamez353 ok. I figured so bc that's how they work on everdrive but I was just curious. Thank you for letting me know ^^
@@thisgal422 No problem, it would be cool if ever hack worked though 🙏🏻
Is this just another clone of the everdrive "plus" with black cartridge?
probably
I think these are seriously worth the money, especially if you are a collector of N64 games. This is simply because it can help you decide if a particular game is worth having in your collection or not before you part with your hard earned cash. I was going to invest in a few more genuine games for example, which are quite expensive, but think I'll give them a wide birth because of the hideous controls implemented into them. So basically, the games/roms are stored on a SD Card and it simply flashes the memory chip as if it were a genuine cartridge - Loads/flashes it in and runs the game, well worth having.
Could I plug the SD card into my PC and play the games on my computer?
@@Chicken_Inspector_kun Games obviously won't work directly, but I'll hazard a guess and say it's possible with a appropriate emulator to read the roms on the SD. If not, it's easy enough to download compatible roms that work with an N64 emulator. I have both but using the real hardware is always the way to go as opposed to PC emulation - You'll know what I mean when you try/play various games.
@@KJ-yr4wd that’s what I meant. Should’ve specified earlier. I’m expecting this in the mail later this week. Was curious if, since my N64 is a bit of a relic, I could download project 64, but the SD into my
Pc and upload and play the roms from there.
Can you save your game progress on this clones?
If you can push the reset button before you turn the console off then yes lol
