    Say what you will about Joe Rogen, but he's essentially actually what Dave Rubin claims to be. Central and open-minded to various view points whether right or left. Massive respect when he cuts through bullshit like this.

      Yeah Rogan is what Rubin wants to be, but somehow ended up the opposite of. Rubin started out talking to anyone from any political leaning, but now I'd say it is 90% right wing or libertarian guests. The main difference is Rogan calls out BS and pushes back against guests. Rubin smiles and agrees with everyone almost all of the time. Rubin is a garbage interviewer, Rogan is excellent.

    • @TangoNevada
      @TangoNevada 4 года назад +2

      @Guillermo Lombana Sure they exist and the Teachers at those schools often have to pay out of their own pocket for basic supplies (Which by the way, their Salary is barely a living wage to begin with). But do you ever see cops having to buy their own guns or bullets, or showing up to Protests with Trash Can Lids for shields while using Sling Shots to keep people back? This is what people mean by "Defund the Police". It doesn't mean get rid of them, it just means spread the wealth around a bit and you probably wouldn't have so many protests. Cops have every single thing they need in the most state of the art fashion possible, even Military Grade. Meanwhile US bridges and roads are literally falling apart to the point that for what is considered a 1st World Country the US has like a "D" Rating on infrastructure. So yeah, Public Schools do exist, but they EXTREMELY UNDER FUNDED, the Teachers are underpaid, have to use their own money for supplies and of course this all leads to a poor education, which leads to an uneducated society that has very limited job opportunities (Wait for it) except for, of course I don't know, the Police force or the Military. Hmmm, it's almost like it's at least a pattern if not a plan.

    No one every mention how big companies get money from the corporate welfare system for themselves after mismanaging them like the bank bailout, but always pick on the little people getting help with the bases food needs, health care, things to just live everyday. Where corporations are just getting more and more wealth and not passing the wealth to their employees and it's our money their getting. My mother had a friend that lost everything during the 2008 housing crash, she was a realtor and was reduced to public assistance with her two daughters and son. This was a republican who believe you pull yourself up by the bootstrap kind of person. She now understands that the crap she was talking was just that crap. She's back on her feet and is an independent voter. She's in the game fighting against the Trump era because she understands the truth of these programs and how valuable they are to anyone just to live in hard times.

    • @Mr.Pants45

      Simon 's that realtor lady was fucked over by the bureaucrats in Washington, not her conservative values. Its not a conservative value to artificially inflate the housing bubble by federally backing any and all home loans to a certain class of citizens, the class least responsible and least likely to make their mortgage payments. The 08 crash happened because of government intervention into the market, not because of the free market.

    Joe did a really great job of singling out certain people, we all know them. People who believe everyone should suffer at least as bad as they did as revenge for them having to suffer at all. They are miserable people that are hard to feel sorry for, at a certain point a person can get so miserable that it actually makes you feel good that it was them and not you, they got there because they deserved it and the attitude reflects that.

You can want to talk to someone for this kind of conversation or that kind of conversation, etc. etc.

      occupynewparadigm lol i been following richard wolf for over 20 years, i been listening to him in WBAI on his economic update. He is a marxist, look up what that ideology does when expanded through out the entire market. But he is a healthy alternative in your information diet. You need to listen to both sides of the spectrum and take the valid points of both. You need to live in that thin line between CHAOS ( capitalism) and ORder (marxism). Any one of this two takes over and u have unhappyness. If you heard Richard he is for Co-ops. Where you work for a group of bosses who got together and are extremely competent. That way the decision making is spread out instead of concentrated in one person. But u are still an employee until they (the bosses) consider you competent enough to invite you as a member. Is there any law that stops you from doing that right now? Only if you lack the competence. Lots of companies around you are Co-ops. If you want to start your own there is nothing stoping you. Therefore the current system works.

    Rogan usually does more good than harm. The alt right loves him, and he serves them by hosting their heroes like Dave Rubin, Ben Shapiro, Sam Harris and Peterson, but he actually provides a service in nudging them towards slightly more moderate, live and let live stance. Rogan is basically a decent guy, and when confronted with right wing stupidity and dangerous thinking, he will call it out.

    • @transsylvanian9100

      No, he does more harm than good, he is an alt-right enabler. He seems to agree with whoever he talked to last. If he meant this progressive stuff he said in this clip he would not agree with all the alt right shitheads and demagogues when they come on his show and the bullshit they spew. He may have good intentions but he's impressionable and flip-flop-y as hell. And he's too dumb to see the danger that giving exposure to all these far right fuckers puts our society in. He thinks you can reason with the alt right scum or that you should listen to their points. He could not be more naive.

      Rationalysis Sam Harris may not be one himself but he is an enabler for them just like Peterson, he says shit that they like to hear and that they perceive as supporting their shity views. Also Sam Harris is a hypocrite when it comes to islam, sometimes he is right, sometimes he massively exaggerates, but the real problem is that he is completely blind when it comes to any other religion on the same issues. And he has undeniably right wing political views, he is a war hawk for example.

    • @IcarianX
      @IcarianX 6 лет назад +6

      Sam Harris is definitely an American exceptionalist. His argument regading good intentions and unforeseen consequences was very intellectually dishonest. He was aware that the consequences were foreseen, he was aware that Dick Cheney predicted them in the 90s, and yet he still tried to argue that America had good intentions in Iraq? Incredible intellectual doshonesty. Plus he's just a whiny bitch. Does he every stop whining about being taken out of context? Or about being misrepresented? Maybe people aren't taking him out of context or misrepresenting him, maybe they are accurately stating his shitty and biased views?

      You are the exact type of person they are referring to. If you can keep the cognitive dissonance of liking Sam Harris or Peterson and being on the Left at the same time, you are not paying attention. All that Peterson does is bash the Left

      sbcurley his entire point was moot though. He even admits when Rogan calls him out that he was making a very small point about monogamy being "forced" through it being the social norm, which it is... almost everywhere in the world.

    • @theheartsstory
      @theheartsstory 6 лет назад +6

      Just saying his opinion this monogamy shit is a strawman issue. There is no issue with monogamy as the social norm. People should be free to make up their own minds though, and shunning a guy because he doesn't want to marry, or shaming a woman because she has multiple sex partners is a step backwards as a society, in my opinion.

      sbcurley Yes he does. That’s one of his main arguments against polygamy. He thinks our society will plummet if women have the freedom to share a mate.

      Kingston Hawke to be fair he does go on to say he means socially, and not something that should be enforced by laws. However, he should have said this from the beginning instead of speaking like an idiot. Jordan Peterson is not good at expressing his point of view at all, in my opinion.
      Anyway, he said socially when he was pressed by Rogan. However, he then had to backpedal again and say he was just making a small point, bc Rogan also called him out on monogamy being the social norm already. Peterson was acting as if it wasn't.

    What Joe Rogan is addressing in this clip is called EMPATHY. In my opinion this is a huge problem in American society; and it appears to be much more evident on the so-called "conservative" side. I have a slight problem with us calling people racists when they may in fact just not care about any "other people" due to lack of empathy. The skin color or national origin does not really effect their opinion; it's merely the fact they [immigrant, refugee, etc] are from somewhere that exist outside of their own egocentric reality. I do not believe Donald Trump is a racist; i believe he lacks the empathy to care about people outside of his own reality. Now, I'm not saying racism doesn't exist; i'm saying that a lack of empathy can often by mis-attributed to racism. The end result may be a similar outcome to racism; but the underlying cause is different. Unfortunately, unlike racism, you cannot just call it out and shame a lack of empathy. Many people who have racist views are often embarrassed by these views outside of their own circle of friends; that self loathing can keep it in check. But convincing people who genuinely do not give a shit to care about others is an incredibly difficult task.

      This is an interesting thought and I agree 100% with a lack of empathy being a major issue today. My 2c, a willful lack of empathy regarding an issue that pertains to racial injustice is racism. It's tricky, because the mindset is probably like you said- 'i'm not against fighting injustices, I just can't be bothered to give a shit because it's not happening to me.' However, we are not judged by how we interpret our values but instead how the implementation of those values affects others. Therefore, when supreme indifference allows unjust treatment because of race, and you know that, and still can't be bothered to care? That's (in)actively harming a minority, and that's racism.
      If someone does not think they are racist than being labeled racist would absolutely feel hurtful or offensive. You are probably right that many, including Trump, do not equate indifference with active discrimination. But man, America is currently fighting an ideological war with national extremism, Islamophobia, racial injustice, wealth inequality, voter's rights, you name it we've fucked it up- and no American citizen can sit this one out. A lack of opinion is an opinion. Keeping to yourself is just another name for not speaking out. So I just can't buy the 'not racist, just don't care' anymore- because we all know what's going on now, and way to many people these days smile in your face but stick a knife in your neighbor's back, and then ask 'what's the problem, it didn't happen to me or you!' That's just not good enough anymore. Unfortunately, I am aware this mindset falls prey to exactly what you said- it may not help with a national dialogue and could alienate those offended, pushing them away and making it harder to convince them to care. It's a dilly of a pickle!
