I've served in the military in other countries. You do not know fucking shit about other countries from that. The sooner you realize that, the smarter your politics will be.
Very true. I'm a vet who was not stationed oversees. I have, however, traveled and worked in many other countries and did visit Army friends in Europe when I was active and also worked a permanent party assignment that was multi-branch, so I had the chance to speak to other military about their experiences overseas. My conclusion is that military stationed abroad fall into two types: the first is the member who actively explores the foreign culture and learns from it. The second is the type who stays on base or mostly frequents expat or military businesses off base. They just don't have any interest in learning a different way of seeing the world.
A strange andicote, I just recently learned- The Irish have been working so closely with the southern border of Lebanon, when a Lebonese solider speaks in English, they do so with an Irish accent. Marx also learned English from an Irish man. He too, when in English, spoke with an Irish inflection. Non natural english speakers, that learn from Americans or British, seem to speak in violence and oppression. Kinda weird.
@@BlackLabel2021if you learn another language from someone who isn’t born of that nation and who is also not of your nation or even area of your nation 99% of the time the learner will take on a shadow of the teachers own accent. When I learned Spanish and French I was lucky to have teachers from those countries.
Exactly. Much like here, the populace of every country is split politically. There will be fringe anti-american within our allies populace much like there is here for allies like Ukraine. Its also true, they will be the loudest ones. The one's with signs like that proudly displaying their foolish & most times misplaced & politically-groomed bias from whatever fringe political side they are engulfed in. Much like alt-r & neocons here. No different in fundamentals just aimed at differing subjects/targets. To not understand that & to just assume that's the stance & beliefs of their government & moreso the majority of the populace is quite shortsighted, and dare i say, ignorant...
@@BlackLabel2021 I dont know what's so strange about that? The majority of non-native English speakers learn English through the cultural domination of the US with Hollywood, English media and these days also English social media. As far as that is also violence and oppression it is through the ideology that is communicated through this cultural domination, not really the accent. Plus, most Europeans still have their own thick accents, and also their own histories of violence and oppression (just as often as instigator as receiver).
He sounds like he, somewhere deep down, is hoping to be convinced to not be a republican. But like I said, it is deep down and he has instincts to resist this as well as to go with it. Because of his internal struggles, it is yeoman's work to dig this guy out of his "trance." I think Sam and Emma chiseled away at this a little but there is a long way to go. Hope this dude keeps listening to The Majority Report and finds his way out of it!!!
I think it's the other way around - he's probably a lifelong Republican who believes in the values that they used to *claim* to hold (which on a surface level aren't actually unreasonable) and he's now struggling with the realisation that those supposed values were a superficial veneer over beliefs and policymaking that are materially harmful to most Americans. That's why he's open to the arguments they're making but so resistant to the idea of the Republican party as a concept being bad. IMHO a huge part of deprogramming in these instances should be to tackle the essentialist beliefs that underpin conservative attitudes. The guy literally came in with "I'm not racist I've served with other races before" - the core problem is that they think in terms of people being racist instead of actions being racist, they convince themselves they aren't racist because they're good people who mean well and racists are bad, and wind up completely blocking out the fact that well meaning people unintentionally do racist things and hold prejudiced beliefs constantly. I think if they can understand that criticism of racist actions isn't the same thing as completely excommunicating someone from society, they might realise why the anti racist push from progressives is so important and what we're actually trying to accomplish.
He's just an NPC. He has already had this conversation a dozen times before, and he will just reset to his default and be ready to have this conversation for the 50th time as if it were new again.
@@k0mm4nd3r_k3n I mostly agree with you (take Piers Morgan on Israel) but some people listen in good faith and occasionally do change their minds sometimes. They had an interview with a dude (Pascal Robert) around three years ago who went through the history of Haiti with them that I found very entertaining, if you are interested.

My in laws are conservative and they obviously have an issue with immigration. But my sister in law is married to a German immigrant. I wonder why they don’t have a problem with him 🤔
@JOESUBA Stop being obsessed with race all the time. Who commits more crime, white people or other people? Germans aren't committing crimes in America lol. How many Germans cross the border illegally? Germany didn't do September 11th.
Caller:" I just want them to come in the LEGAL way " 😁 Sam: *explains a 30 year old LEGAL immigration program as a response to the US meddling with haiti. * Also shows these Haitian immigrants working in America have a documented improvement on ohios economy Caller:...........I DONT CARE ABOUT LEGAL ENTRY, B-B-BUT MUH TAXES🤬
Not to mention, immigrants pay in a disproportionate amount of taxes without getting as much personal benefit of returns on those tax dollars. For example, having to pay in to Social Security from their wages without being able to collect Social Security. Immigrants aren't a burden on the citizen taxpayer, immigrants actually help subsidize the citizen taxpayer.
Look, this was a perfectly good witch hunt before you came in with your "facts" and "historical appreciation" .. mighty big tent the Republicans claim to have, but facts and logic are not welcome..
True. I think we have to recognize someone who doesn’t want to be racist though. It’s important to not attack them too much and just walk them to the right side of the issue.
@@molkien9928 they are poor and desperate people that got refugee status in the poor neighborhoods of the country that made them like that. their mass immigration here is a net negative for citizens (increased demand in local consumer economy) and you have a right to demand that your government stops shipping in large quantities of impoverished foreigners for whatever reason and to deport the ones that commited murder and rape while they were here. @@BobbyJenko That's going to be a real struggle going forward, but I think it's important. Sometimes they're harder to tell apart than they should be.
I always hate hearing that "2 sides" nonsense. I always respond, "oh, yes, absolutely there are two sides - there's objective reality and then there's fantasy".
A quick point. Seeing different countries as a serviceman being stationed in those countries very likely gives you an EXTREMELY skewed view of those countries. What people are like there, what they think, how the society functions etc.
Yeah I believe that to be true because seeing the country as a tourist versus seeing it as protecting American assets and interest because you're told to do so no matter what are two completely different viewpoints of a foreign country
This is the problem with debating Republicans. They don't know the first thing about what they're debating. Sam had to educate the caller for him to have an acceptable understanding of the subject.
I found it pretty wild that his takeaway from that several minute history lesson was "Well yeah it's just like how you can't tell if a baby is going to grow up into a serial killer," the implication being that the most important thing to consider when it comes to immigration is the small chance that an immigrant is a criminal.
@@brumleytown1882 True, but lacking foundational knowledge is still a sore lack. And flatly claiming that a group of people are illegal immigrants *when they have clearly not read up on the subject to even a basic level* is not what I'd call "finest quality". Maybe your standards are low. He also didn't acknowledge the correction in any way, instead pretended it hadn't happened. So that's *willful* ignorance. Again, maybe my standards are just higher, but I think being willing to "sort of listen but not acknowledge corrections" while also being blindingly ignorant doesn't really qualify as "fine" for me, let alone "finest". Or is your point relative: That this is the finest quality that can be expected from Republicans? That might be true, if depressing.
That's extremely common amongst the Republican base. They really believe that immigrants (undocumented or otherwise) are receiving more government benefits from taxpayer money than they are paying in taxes.
@@paulkeiper1381they take SIGNIFICANTLY less from the system than they give into it. This is public information why would we pretend otherwise unless we are just trying to be racist
Theres this phenomenon I always see whenever I see a conservative debate someone on the left, where there appears to be this vast cacophony of talking points in their head, and they just want to throw them all at a "liberal" and see what happens. It's probably cathartic for them to get it all out of their system. But it results in wildly disconnected and irrelevant jumping from topic to topic, reason and rationale. They vomit out years of uncategorized thoughts in a jumbled mess. That can be seen here as well.
So true, and it comes with a sense of “once I shower him with my well of knowledge he’ll totally come around” and it never goes the way they think it will
"I know for a fact *THEY* can't drive" what, ALL Haitians? You've done some sort of analysis on that, or have you just been witness to every Haitian driving? Lol
I've known several Haitian immigrants here in Las Vegas for over a decade now. They all drive nicer cars and have better-paying jobs than I. Software development, doctors, lawyers... yah, real bad people. 🙄 Many of these Republicans need to explore the world a bit more and talk to more than one another.
Haitians in Springfield specifically. This has been addressed by the governor, the police and the residents. So no, not all Haitians. Just because something has a negative connotation, or talking about it makes you feel kind of icky because it’s not glowingly positive, doesn’t mean it’s a right wing lie. Luckily bad driving can be addressed and it’s just growing pains - for sure the new residents will eventually drive just fine.
No it's dumber than you made is seem. He said "I know FOR A FACT that they can't drive....from the REPORTS I'VE SEEN" so.....pretty much not FOR A FACT at all.
I love that this conversation was respectful and rational and logical throughout. The Majority Report is such a refreshing change from the tone and rhetoric you hear out there.
Agreed. I also think it’s good that this guy called in at all. He seems to have been *heavily influenced* by right wing news sources lol, but he’s at least trying to get a new perspective here.
It just shows you how shallow the knowledge of these people are. Their entire worldviews are built on feels and vague gesturing at things. It's exhausting to deal with.
Thinking about this in a deprogramming framework he's not actually telling other people that he's not racist, he's trying to reassure himself that he's not racist because he views racism as an intrinsic character flaw rather than a pattern of behaviours that can be unintentional and subtle.
Sadly, listening to his responses, it doesn't sound like the viewer retained much of that education. You could even see it on Emma's face when his rebuttal would be way off-topic, and he'd jump from Republican talking point to Republican talking point without really digesting what Sam said.
Very few people have the insight to acknowledge and overcome their own internalised racism. I think we should recognise that this guy is taking the first steps towards realising the flaws in his current understanding of the world - criticising things like the racism is absolutely appropriate but maybe not in such a dismissive way
😖Pffts💦 The caller seems to be unaware that these communities(Latinos and Haitians) are largely Christian. That's no different than the religious demographics in places like Louisiana. SOMEBODY practices voodoo right here IN the United States already. Folks like to think that it's COMING from outside. If there's a "threat" from immigrants that you're freaked-out about, it's mostly already here. For instance, *SANTERIA* is practiced right here in the United States and people get just as much of the heebie-jeebies from that as they do about voodoo. These fools always thinking that we're bringing in MORE of the negative things that we already have! If they're MOSTLY Christian, how exactly are the threats being INCREASED? Again, in places like Louisiana and even Florida(since Santeria would be coming out of Cuba), those proportional demographics do not make a significant increase, if *AT ALL.* Proportionally, the math doesn't work towards *ANY* increase in those perceived threats from immigrants! It's easy to push propaganda with the use of the things in other cultures that would freak Americans out. BUT, folks are so unaware that we already have the same sort of demographics of those religions that freak people out *RIGHT HERE* in the United States. The propaganda is MEANT to exaggerate the *PROBABILITY* that immigrants are bringing in that much MORE of a cultures negative aspects.
True. No matter what you think about the hosts, there's a sort of a refreshing maturity in the discussions. Compare this to the unhinged mess that is TYT

Sam is so good at recalling things he's learned from wherever and using those things to help open people's minds. I hope Will listens back to this conversation b/c he responded to things Sam didn't actually say and did not follow Sam's conversation well. Some of the tangents he went on were confusing, but I think he thought he was making sense. Keep listening, Will, thanks for calling in!
I feel like Sam very accurately noticed that this guy was not a bad faith republican but rather someone who had been peddled lies and I’m glad he was patient with him
I wouldn't be too sure about that. My conservative dad has a similar understanding as this guy, maybe a little more thoughtful and humane, but he believes the US should hoard these resources because they're finite. My dad just sees the world as 'us' versus 'them' because life is brutal, but I see it as us and them, and we can figure this out together.
Yes this was his most cogent argument. From there he goes sideways. I agree with a replier, it's an us vs them argument. The caller fails to understand who is us and who is them. Them aren't immigrant's. Them are Trump and his rich friends. They are the ones taking from us. But the working class are dazzled by the rich with their wealth dangled in front of them so blame the immigrants.
And let us not forget how many politicians took advantage of ppp loans and did not pay them back, for example, marjorie Taylor green, madkwayne mullins😢
PPP loans were effectively grants. They were "loans" mostly just for accounting purposes. The issue isn't people not repaying them, it is that they lied about their needs and claimed thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands that they were not entitled to and no one ever checked or followed up.
So this caller is saying that he's surprised that people in any country he's been to have varying points of view. Maybe he needs to travel more to understand that you'll never find a country where 100% of the people agree on any issue. Not even in Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. We in the US live in a country where people tell other natural born citizens to "go back to where you came from" and all other kinds of stupid, cruel things that are much worse.
@@k0mm4nd3r_k3n NPC is a good term to describe these people, especially the ones who make these judgments based on "what I hear". They are as mindless as NPCs who are programmed to say just a couple lines, and can't spend a couple minutes looking up information themselves.

Would he be in front of his house holding a sign that says "I love you!"? There are too many people who acknowledge that they don't understand other people, yet spend almost no effort trying to understand other people.
Of course just THE HINT of a racism accusation is the first thing that'll raise his hackles. "Immigrants are bad but not for those reasons, of course" unfortunately, the Republican party runs ON RACISM, reasoning doesn't matter. The point is that they want to uphold one part of a hierarchy... and what does that hierarchy look like, you think?

He does something I've noticed people do when they have opinions that they know are potentially unsavory or controversial, where they only state a premise and hope you draw the same conclusion that they're implying. Its like if you don't outright contradict the conclusion then it's acceptable.
@@trafficcone5449 I think you're right. He also projected and thought that's what Sam was trying to pull on him by asking "what is your understanding of the Haitian migrant situation in Ohio", clearly leading into explaining that they are not illegal immigrants, yet the guy was like "I know what you're trying to get me to say - the pets". Lol
I really hope this guy continues listening to the MR. Give it time, he seems so close to realizing how much bs his party has pushed on him over the years. And kudos to Sam for his brief history lesson on how the former colonial powers (but esp. France of course) have thoroughly screwed over the Haitian people.
The Haitian revolution was not only the first su.ccessful slave revolt in the West, it is the only successful slave revolt to have ended the practice in recorded history.
I almost believed he wasn’t racist until he said” Sam I’m not a racist” The idea that because you work around minorities means you can’t be racist is laughable.
These are the middle-of-the-road, salt-of-the-earth Republicans whose opinions, thoughts, feelings, and concerns we are being asked to take very, very seriously. By the way.
Cartel has been coming over since before 9/11... El Paso, TX is ranked one of the safest cities in the US. As ironic as that sounds. That said, stoking racist rhetoric is not the way to solve this issue. I am from that area, and worked on the border for years.
I just hope he finally realizes that it's corporate power that is feeding him this garbage all along and that's who we need to point to. He seems like he's on the verge. I feel like people somewhat understand that corporate power is bad but they still don't totally know the pervasive tricks that they play and how far that corruption goes.
He seems to me like he's just clinging to racism and isolationism as a security blanket because thinking about the complex real world, including the young nation of Ukraine and what corporations do with our government, is too hard and it's easier to assume that there's a conspiracy against the patriotic "nomad" man. I'm really glad women have the right to vote so they can overcome votes from this sort of man -- there are a lot of them out there.
How in the world do you even begin trying to fix this guy’s issues? His brain’s been hollowed out by the right. He’s not even making arguments so much as outlining his freaky worldview.
honestly I disagree-if anything, I think this was a really productive conversation. you can hear the cognitive dissonance being worked out as they go on. and it's clear to me he's seeking explanations that make sense, that's what drew him to the show and even drove him to call in
Realistically, you don't. Most of the population refuse to have discussions in good faith and prefer just feeding their own confirmation bias. Once you get to that point, the only solution is guns and severe crackdowns and reforms in education. Even after America won ww2, rebuilt Germany, and cracked down on nazi propaganda (to an extent) most of the older population still thought the nazis were in the right.
As the other replies have said, this isn't a conspiracy pilled QAnoner, this is a guy who means well but has been taken in by the right wing propaganda machine, probably Fix News in particular since that has a veneer of legitimacy by being on a major cable news network. His actual material priorities are all quite reasonable, he just doesn't understand the actual drivers for the problems he wants addressed and therefore has the wrong idea about how to address them. This is the reason that education has far reaching importance beyond mere preparation to enter the workforce - if media skepticism had been part of this guy's education growing up he may well have had progressive views even with all else being equal, but he doesn't know what he doesn't know, and now that he's being introduced to that you can practically hear the gears turning in his head as he's realising that the sources he's previously trusted are not as neutral as they claim to be.
As a former 2016 Trump voter myself, it took a lot of hard policy discussions to snap me out of my 20+ years worth of conditioning having had grown up in a Republican household
It was a good discussion. It wasn't combative or end in a shouting match. It was obvious the caller has been weened on FOX & maybe he's trying to get away from that. Hope he does.
Even as this caller is formulating his 'statements of fact', he has just about enough self-awareness to caveat his statements because deep down, he knows his opinions are based on misinformation.
People are so shocked that immigrants seek asylum here when we've colonized and taken resources from many other regions..as you point out with Haiti, what do they expect the Haitian people to do? Honestly. They're welcome here & making the country better.
I disagree with your last sentence. He actually had an open enough mind to call in and have a genuine discussion. He was willing to listen and think about what Sam had to say, even if he didn't always agree. I miss Republicans like that, you won't find any such in the MAGA cult.
The MR crew handled that well and didn't cast him away....and he was struggling there having been betrayed by Bush as a soldier. He's giving hints of internal conflict.
@@NorthernKittyWell he's probably only really listened to Fox News prior to this, but I think we should understand that in the context of Fox News being seen as a reputable news source by many people. It probably never occurred to him previously that Fox might be manipulating him and now that he's realised they provide incomplete information at best he's appropriately reaching out and exploring other world views. It's a good example of how many of the people who get all their information from Fox News aren't stupid, they're just misinformed, and writing them off as stupid or careless would waste these opportunities to reach out and help better their understanding of the world

nah, he's got a point. We do have a problem with people offshoring their labor in order to pay cheaper wages elsewhere and avoid paying taxes and wages here. That's what killed a lot of manufacturing and is the main reason, through NAFTA and Clinton, that people in the midwest hate Democrats. A lot of towns here were destroyed by these industries leaving. But they don't seem to realize that immigrants arent the ones to get angry at over that. Nor are these other countries, who are not prospering from having to do that labor for cheap. And they don't realize that tariffs aren't going to make those companies come back. All it will do is give them an excuse to raise prices even more.
@@seanpatrick1243 he was talking about two different things, and conflating them, which is the problem. so I get the confusion. His argument about immigrants is ridiculous. When he brings up offshoring of jobs that's valid, but republicans never separate the two.
Trump eliminated the oversight committee for the PPP loan program. It's irritating that this isn't brought up, especially when some complains about the fraud that happened.

Those of us without piles of disposable income who could still afford them would definitely take better care of them for starters. People forget how expensive home computers used to be and many still had them when they had less income. It wasn't an impulse buy and no one bought a new one every year. If they knew what they were doing they upgraded theirs and if they didn't they just adapted to using what they had as long as possible. We'd do the same with expensive phones. You'd buy one after carefully planning it, you'd take great care of it, and if a new one came out with fancy features you'd just adapt to using what you had to get what you needed done until you could afford the new one and not freak out that you were behind on tech.
@scoobertmcruppert2915 they do what with $1k phones now? It usually isn't use them for 5 to 6 years. People who get the cutting edge models are usually the same ones who upgrade yearly or faster. My point was it wasn't all that long ago people were willing to part with $4k just for a home computer. And that was in the mid 80s when that $4k went a whole hell of a lot farther. The people that are into them would still get them and the average person would adjust to life without a cutting edge phone because our species has acted that way for most of its existence. The original poster expecting everyone to be unhappy if the newest iPhone made in the USA was that expensive isn't taking into account the history of people adjusting to these things. That was my point. And all the people I see constantly breaking their phones would take care better care of them if they were that much more expensive as well. We treat these things as disposable because our place in the world let's us act that way.

How can you talk about voodoo in a conversation about Haiti as if it’s a terrible cultural mark when Haitian voodoo is rooted in slavery, never forget that republican politics will point to the problem caused by bad policy, and blame the victims of said policy, but realistically Haitian voodoo was a cultural response to slavery, blending cultures and such to try and have a semblance of life in unthinkable conditions, and to wield a measure of power against anyone who would claim to own you, if you lived in those conditions and someone told you “here take this doll, it’ll scare the master for the night” of course you’d be interested. This is just like the crime narrative where over policing black communities leads to a higher proportion of black folks arrested and republicans will blame the victim yet again
If you said that to them they'd tell you that's a victim mentality. They don't care about slavery, they're literally trying to erase it from their history books.

A strange andicote, I just recently learned-
The Irish have been working so closely with the southern border of Lebanon, when a Lebonese solider speaks in English, they do so with an Irish accent.

The caller seems to be unaware that these communities(Latinos and Haitians) are largely Christian.

Having a conversation with someone who doesn't have a clue. Is so funny. This guy only listens and looks at Fox News
Hello from a fellow Gary!
It's a good example of how many of the people who get all their information from Fox News aren't stupid, they're just misinformed, and writing them off as stupid or careless would waste these opportunities to reach out and help better their understanding of the world
This is the most random Faux News meme generator ever. This guys has fact checked or researched absolutely nothing.
Let's remember that most people don't fact-check or research the news they consume. They go to new sources that they think will provide reputable news.
Yes he has, he's listened to podcasts, looked on Facebook and watched fox. He's gone to all the ones participating in the gop/maga - pab45 bullcr*p loop. 😂😂
@@bunyipdragon9499I don't think he has, I think he's just not realised that Fox is a propaganda machine and doesn't realise the need to fact check them. He actually seemed open to Sam and Emma's arguments, that doesn't fit with the people who are elbow deep in stop the steal Facebook conspiracy groups
@@du3844-m4v I'm fatigued from this type of response.
Most people don't fact-check or research but most people in the U.S. don't share MAGA values. MAGA are not most people. They are not populist. A lot of Republicans actually agree with most views Democrats agree with. See abortion, Social Security, tax reform, LGBT rights, upholding democracy, taxing the rich, etc. etc.
When a person is a MAGA talking-point dictionary, there's a point where they have to be held accountable for their hateful beliefs without someone being on the sidelines ready to sanitize their hate-fueled ignorance.
This guy couldn’t pass a civics or history class himself. Quit watching Fox News, Newsmax etc.
This was a good productive call. I’m glad y’all were able to have that conversation. Also, I’m gonna save this video so I can show clips of it to people especially the part where you’re explaining to him the reality of the Springfield situation in super simple terms. I appreciate what y’all do 💙💙
I applaud the caller for calling in. Good vibe in the call, but Sam needs to let Emma speak more.
I usually would agree but for this caller I think Sam was the best choice. He knew exactly the points to make, which I know Emma does too but he can be a touch more succinct usually, and I don’t know that this dude would have listened to Emma. Which sucks and is stupid, but I think maybe this man might actually be able to change.
@@truckerdave8465Also, while Emma is insightful, intelligent and generally good at advocating for the truth I think Sam just has more experience at navigating these kinds of discussions and was probably just better positioned to navigate the conversation without pushing back too hard all at once and alienating the caller
@@bosstowndynamics5488 Emma can pounce a little too easily sometimes yeah
nah, Emma happily fell back. they're fine
Can you go back to putting the dates in the description? I wish I knew what episode this was from, and when the call was for the news context.
Great call. Would love for more level headed Republicans to call in.
This caller was such a darling! So polite, didn't interrupt, didn't swear or insult, was open minded, etc. And of course he has served his country in the military, as well, and given all the horrors he has seen, for him to remain such a nice guy is truly wonderful. Thanks for being so nice to him in return, and I hope you helped open his mind a little on some of these issues. Thank gosh your show is so open to bringing basically *anyone* on to the phones, thereby not being an "echo chamber" show. Keep doing what you're doing, team! ❤️
Left is best.
"I don't know what they are, I'm just going off of what we're told"
Oh no, he said the quiet part out loud and completely gave away the game
I'm glad this Republican takes a stance against people who commit fraud. I sure hope he doesn't vote for a guy who has been proven in court to commit many instances of fraud...
I was surprised they didn't bring this up - I really wanted them to throw that back in his face to see how he would react lol.
The ladies first-thank you exchange made me smile for some reason.
Was gonna say this. It’s little but it’s sweet
Sam, thanks, I didn’t know the history of Haiti to that depth.
This was a good call as far as republican callers go. I’m glad it didn’t devolve. Hopefully everything marinates with him and he calls back eventually.
He says "I'm not racist" and in the next breath he says "i dont care how they get here" 😂😂
Hello?!
Cause and effect!
Americans don't get to be free of consequences.
Overthrowing governments and installing puppets in the name of "democracy".
oh man it's been a long day and a new sam seder debate is exactly what i've been needing
19:52 These jobs are LITERALLY IN THE UNITED STATES.
It’s just that Americans don’t want to do them for the amount businesses want to pay them.
nah, he's got a point.
@@bulletsandbracelets4140
He was referring to the Haitians working in Ohio which has absolutely nothing to do with offshore jobs.
@@seanpatrick1243 he was talking about two different things, and conflating them, which is the problem. so I get the confusion. His argument about immigrants is ridiculous. When he brings up offshoring of jobs that's valid, but republicans never separate the two.
@@bulletsandbracelets4140
Fair enough
The way Emma's smile absolutely DETERIORATED as soon as he said he was Republican lmfao
These people would eat themselves for trump and maga
"I was a militaryman in another country and they didn't like me there, called me a killer" I wonder why they didn't like you there
What are the chances that the caller learned something?
Honestly seems like a friendly guy, more inquisitive than hostile.
Trump eliminated the oversight committee for the PPP loan program. It's irritating that this isn't brought up, especially when some complains about the fraud that happened.
He got reeaal timid when you asked him about specifics about Ohio immigration. He bought into their messaging but realizes its BS.
Those Haitians did not come straight to Ohio, also what is this sharing the same principles bullshit? We all BELIEVE we have the right principles but somehow we're all different just the same.
Its causing me physical pain to listen to this caller!
White people complaining about too many immigrants in America is mind blowing.
To the caller - thank you for your service to our country, and for reaching out to alternative sources of information.
The caller having to clarify that he is not racist when no one brought that up is key. He knows the majority of people that follow trump are racist. He is trying to be "one of the good ones"
U guys did a wonderful job on informing this guy. Hopefully it got thru
Will just learned... Not a damn thing 😔
😂
Well, you're not going to learn anything if you watch The Majority Report or listen to Sam Seder. You just get DNC talking points.
"I just go off what we're told."
I think I may have found the problem.
holy shit this country is COOKED
...... c'mon
It's funny from my perspective that you seem to only conclude this now. As I live in Oklahoma and this conversation seems refreshing to me. This Republican was actually listening and considering the ideas. A lot of them won't even do that!
@@davidwoznerable6750I think that’s how we’re cooked
@@davidwoznerable6750 bro the fact that people actually buy this pet-eating lie about Haitians is insane to me
@@epicswag100xd4 can't argue with that.
This guy sounds like he’s got an open mind and he’s climbing out of the pit he was in! This makes me optimistic. I hope this guy keeps listening to the show and learning more about politics and the world.
Republican caller: i kinda like y'all, i don't kno why (😄)
we know why. more truth resides here. Left is best
I do love the idea that if he wanted to try fentanyl he'd just wait at an airport or something for a shipment to come in
Not sure how happy people would be if US manufactured iPhones were $5k.
Why do corporations need to keep growing when they are already making 500-1000 percent profits?
I love the way you just bend over and spread your cheeks for corporate America
@@mikeydildosThat’s what everyone does with $1000 phones now…what are you talking about? I’ve had the same phone for like 5-6 years
Pay would be higher as well, that’s the point of it. I don’t think strict isolationism is a good thing though.
This is quite brilliant. He called he listened and you brought it to him. Persuasion. Not put downs, no patronizing. This is the future. But remember. He called. He had a feeling. Good on him.
This is just like the crime narrative where over policing black communities leads to a higher proportion of black folks arrested and republicans will blame the victim yet again
relatable point
If you said that to them they'd tell you that's a victim mentality. They don't care about slavery, they're literally trying to erase it from their history books.
This dude unraveled so fast.
Wow. The number conservative media pulls on their viewers is incredible. Just incredible. This guy believed the literal opposite of the truth.
That’s why we need serious laws in this country that make it that all news has to be completely unbiased with no spin or be heavily fined and removed from the airwaves. Companies like FOX, Newsmax, and all the others shouldn’t even exist.
Great Job Sam and Emma!
