The funny thing is when he uses a completely generic setup like a Strat into a Marshall, his tone is immediately recognisable because he doesn't sound like anyone else playing a Strat through a Marshall

It's a good album and I believe Jeff recieved a gold record for it. The other album Wired came out the following year which is also a good album and I have a copy of it as well.

My favorite guitarist ever, the king of the "guitarist's guitarist" and to me the most original and unique rock guitarist ever. He had dazzling technique and otherworldly control of his technique, but dazzling you with his technique was never his intent. It was always just a means to higher creative exploration and musical expression. This is a stellar performance, but i feel a little sad all over again seeing it and realizing what a short time we had left to share in the magic he gave us.

This man lives on a different planet from all other guitarists. Whilst his peers are lazily falling back on their old catalogue, churning out tired but perfect copies with stellar session players and guests, Beck continues to push the envelope despite knocking on 80 and with people you've never heard of. It's also great he's giving women a chance to shine - Tal Wilkenfield being one he brought on and now has a career of her own. All power to you Jeff.

JB has been the biggest source of inspiration for me to keep exploring new techniques, tones and sounds and to liberate my playing since the 1980s when I began playing. The first JB music I heard, while knowing it was him, was the live album with Jan Hammer. Freeway Jam sounded so fun and sounded like pure happiness.
I often hear him play and think " It's like he plays what I feel when I've been high on magic mushrooms " lol " it's like the funny feelings one gets from a magic mushroom high, are plugged straight into his guitar and through his amps "
I got to see him play live once, in Vancouver BC, when he toured with Jennifer Batten ( Eric Johnson opened for JB ) The funny thing is that it was a freakish kinda magic that I even got in. I did not have more than $5 - $7 to my name, in my pocket, but I went to the venue anyhow just to be around the energy of him being there. I met this half-cut fellow who was quite perturbed as his wife just dumped him, and he had an extra ticket. Well, I told him that I would love to have his ticket, but all I got is $7 or whatever I had atm. And he said ' just buy me a beer inside and you can have the ticket. " So we went in and I bought him a beer, and the good thing is I brought a pair of binoculars ( just in case something magic happened ) which made the experience a fair bit better for both of us. Jeff Beck will forever have changed me musically and personally!
    Thanks, Jeff!

Jeff is showcasing some amazing musicians who happen to be ladies, I think its great that he does this and its good for fusion to have more female players finally getting recognition!

Yet another great venture with Freeway Jam! Jeff Beck makes it new every time. This rhythm section brings so much to the song. Rhonda Smith fuels the groove! What an incredible player

Wow, thanks! I pride myself on taking video I want to watch again and again. I've been to over 300 amazing concerts in my life since ELP 2 nights in 1977 and forgot more of the most amazing shows than I cared to forget. So I vowed, once I got a digital camera, that I would burn in each concert and watch them over-and-over! And I've got video from the first show when I got a cheap camera, The Police (hint: they kicked me out for taking video). It's not great, but it's not bad, either, cause it take me there again. :)
Later I found someone posted amazing audio, so now I have an even better fuzzy recollection. :)
