You could argue the point that the dream sequence for Jason and he's afraid of water could be because this might be the first time that Jason is unconscious and dreaming, whenever he's been in water he's been awake and he kills like a machine, all instinctual but when he's asleep and to be exposed to water he resorts back to the mind of a child who was terrified of water, just a thought. I liked the movie but really Freddy shouldn't have survived as long as he did in the real world against Jasn
@15:12 - I never understood how Freddy went from getting his butt handed to him by teenage girls to then going all Jet Li on Jason's butt and it not even being in the dream world, but in the REAL WORLD as well. When did Freddy have time to learn how to fight like that? They also deliberately made Jason slow and clumsy asf. If it would've been Kane Hodder's Jason, Freddy would've been screwed, because even Kane's version was faster and more to the point if he had to use his hands. Other than that... I still find the movie as entertaining and badass as I first saw it when I was 8 yrs. old. Nice review once again tho!
@40:00 - Actually, FVJ made 116 million worldwide and honestly, they could've made their own universe in which the likes of Pinhead, Myers, Chucky, etc. shared the same world as Freddy and Jason for sure. If they would've played their cards right back then, we could've had the 2nd coming of the "universal monsters" of the 50's, but with the slasher icons. Would've been epic asf.

I love the movie because it got me into both franchises. Being a die hard fan of both now the biggest drawback was it got way too campy. The fight scenes are awesome but if they would've gotten Kane (Which they really could've) and I feel the director wasn't the best choice. He's not a bad director but he never saw any of the other Friday The 13th's besides the first one. So he simply didn't really understand why Kane was such a huge part of the series. He really im bodied Jason. And Ken wasn't that bad of Jason either but Ronny consistently told Ken to give Jason a Frankenstein feel and walk. Which even though Jason did have a slow walk in the previous installments he nowhere near walked as slow as he did in FvJ. Which made Jason really lose a lot of his character then more realized. Still a great movie though it's still Freddy Vs. Jason and just love that fact. Other complaint is that they focused more on Freddy than Jason making it more of A Nightmare sequel including Jason than anything else. They still showed a bit of Jason and some cool references to Friday but still didn't take the character that seriously considering how much Ronny really just saw him as a machete wielding and slow walking maniac which isn't all that Jason is. sort of like the idea of freddy working at camp crystal lake and killing child jason,would have been cool to have betsy palmer and kane hodder in the film too.maybe could have done without any teenage cast just maybe only odd one to kill here and there,didnt really like this movie like part 8 could have been so much better.enjoyed the review matt.

I Honestly think though if they go ahead with the proposed Pinhead after credit scenes it could of started the trend before Ironman put Nicky Fury in their's for the most memorable after credit scene of alltime now. if They went through with it they would of dentely had a franchise but Sadly this movie was so awful. If they went with your idea of bringing characters back from each series, it would have to be Tommy Jarvis and Alice, I think.
