Its ironic as hell, and I think that's why. People also always only acknowledge that fire burns. Fire is a dual sided coin. It also provides warmth and light.
The Pryoclasts. For when you need something burned to glass, so that it may never rise to harm another soul again. Thanks for covering the Pyroclasts Uncle Baldemort. They were one of the things that got me to make my Homebrew Chapter. Good guys that have to do the hard jobs, but still keep their humanity.
@Matthew Beattie Sort of. The Pyroclasts didn't really mind not being in the spotlight so much since the jobs they did were brutal and were content to mainly celebrate within their own circles. The Iron Warriors on the other hand, also did dirty jobs, but desperately wanted to be in a more glorious campaign were they'd get respect from their peers. Although to be fair, the Pyroclasts dealt with this better because they were one sub-division of a Legion that did the dirty work. The Iron Warriors had the rotten luck of being a whole Legion devoted to doing dirty work.

That prometheum smell, the whole position! Smelled like... victory." - Salamander Lieutenant Killgore
Love the new intro really shows what your all about. When it comes to space marine chapters I’ve always loved the Space wolves I like wolves and I love Vikings so the space wolves are a favorite of mine but as of late I’ve been loving the salamanders and they have become my second favorite chapter
Ive always (well at least since I got into 40k) loved how the salamanders, the chapter most known for being good guys and caring for the citizens, utilize fire. Fire is probably the most destructive of the 4 classical elements, but people forget the dual sided nature of fire. yes its flames burn away all that it is unleashed upon, but fire also has a gentle side. It can provide warmth when you are cold. It can be your guiding light in the dark. Its all about how it is used. It can be a roaring inferno, or a gentle, warming flame. Just like the salamders themselves.
Loved that you covered the Pyroclasts, I specifically play that battle company over others since the Salamanders are a sort of paradox with their humanity in the 40K universe, and the Pyroclasts being both the most terrible and the best of the chapter.
Thank you so much Baldermort for creating this video!!! I love the Salamanders so much that I've recently decided to make them my first army, and Adrax Agatone himself my first miniature has already been ordered!
Dear Uncle Baldy, thank you, this is how a man truly retains his humanity, and you sir have capture the essence beautifully, I feel that this is your favourite chapter within the Emperors domain, if so you do them great service.
My friend you just go from strength to strength . Amazing work as always , I hope the war wounds been kinder to you of late . Your faithful Irish Brother salutes you 💪☘️
Magnificent once again and as always, Good Sir! Love this fantastic prose! Epic new intro is great as well! Wolves, Salamanders, and Ravens are epic, but with IW's, the hydra, and those who cry Ave Dominus Nox all on my short list of favorites. Sorry this is so long I got sucked into your story and loved it. TTFN!
I have liked the salamanders in the past because of their humane side still being a part of themselves still. But this expresses the way they can disconnect into war in all its gore. Great vid as always!
Ever since getting into the universe the salamanders were my favorite loyalist legion. Humanity, fire, punching the malevolent's captain in the face, more fire... what is not to love?
@@randomcenturion7264 oh yeah that too. Also Vulkan had to hold back in training fights against his brothers to avoid harming them. Let the Ultrasmurths live up to that!!
Of all the legions I honestly feel like the Salamanders would adjust the best to a peaceful Imperium that they were expecting before the Horus Heresy. A few of the other legions were beginning to think about what they might do once they had won; but they had difficulty coming up with anything to do because they were built for combat through and through; even if they could find something to take their time they needed combat to feel alive. The Salamanders are built for combat as well but they seem to only do so entirely out of necessity. It's even more tragic for them to be stuck fighting an unending war for over 10 thousand years considering they would have been happy to stop.
Adrax, looked around the carnage he had wrought, seeming distance and cold; but even he could not hide the regret set deep within his hearth-colored eyes. “Is this what my father would have wanted? Is this what we must do when we step away from the forges of creation?” He thought to himself as the world weariness set deep into his bones, like an arthritic sore to his soul. A hand of ebony landed on his paldron, and he looked to find the wisdom and sympathy in the eyes of his chapter master in the hands owner. “I can see your pain, brother; and it makes me honored to fight the Emperor’s war with you. Just know, we fight this war now so that humanity will not have to later, we destroy, so that the future can be focused on creation.”
I do love how big of a name Adrax Agatone has gotten since he BARELY gets mentioned within the Salamanders omnibus where he's barely taken command of the 3rd Company
