This is why I really like going to the thrift store once or twice a week. I feel more free to try out something new, or “settle” for something that didn’t check every single box. I’ve been looking for a gingham maxi skirt but I just hadn’t found one that was perfect. Then a few days ago I found a gingham skirt that was perfect except for the fact that it was a midi, not maxi. And I was like, ok, for $4 I’m ok to use this skirt until I come across something longer with the right scale print. Like I don’t want to spend $100+ on a skirt that’s not checking every box, but I’m ok to spend a few bucks for a temporary sub, which also doesn’t create more waste in the world
I actually love the fact im giving myself permission to be selective. Im getting better at accepting that i may not find anything,it means the stuff I do find has more value in terms of getting worn and meaning to me
If you are a specialty size (petite, plus, small or large size in shoes, etc) you will almost have to shop online since brick n mortar stores keep a limited inventory. It's annoying since you're paying to try the stuff on & returns aren't always free. Many dept stores stop at size 14 or 16 & do not carry wide or narrow shoes. I hate the sensory overload of shopping anyway, so it's just added incentive to avoid malls 😅
Hi Rita, do you ever talk about your thoughts on perfume? They are subjective, but maybe there are tips on finding your best scents based on Style Essence? I remember the old advice about Winters enjoying heavier non-floral perfumes, and yes, I love Angel. But buying fragrance is still hit or miss.
Love this Q, I think keywords could be a good starting point- like dreamy +extravagant might get you to a big floral. I like scents that are spicy/earthy and a bit unisex, which for me plays to intriguing/persona or maybe sensual/intimidating.
My biggest problem with shopping is feeling limited by shipping/toll/tax/customs/return costs since I live in Norway. D: I can basically only shop from brands inside the country which feels so limiting.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Yea true. It's basically one of the only place I shop 😂 and I've returned so many of my orders that they've limited my account. I can only pay with direct bank transfers now.
I am good at browsing, either online or window-shopping on the streets, but uh, it has become an informational overload lately! 😮 There are so many cool things around. In the result I am not able to commit to buying anything, and I am paralised by choices... The strategy and goal setting - shopping for one, maximum two items at the same point in time is just so much more easy and fun ☺
Thank you Rita!! ✨️ This is exactly the video I needed! Definitely going to practise my shopping skills 👍 As a side note, I was wondering what you think about people using keywords / styles from the opposite quadrants. For example, someone from the left quadrants being also drawn to dreamy, luminous styles. I'd love to know more about how you can use or filter (not sure if this is the right word) this through the leftness. Secretly hoping this topic will come up in a stream as you seem to always post exactly the videos I need 😄😁
River Island is very interesting: I have been really into second hand shopping when I lived in Belarus, and literally 2/3 great items I found were from them 😄

I feel you on that but at least you have Zalando which carries so many brands and mostly free returns?

Seriously though I know what you mean, it's so frustrating paying toll on orders from UK

Thank you for the tips!
Rita, do you have specific recommendations of brands for the archetypes? I'm using the Lady Heretic
Great topic,Rita! I am looking for a brand which offers clothes as if Farm Rio and Sezane had a baby, but for people with big boobs and small purses.
Farm rio is colorful prints and sezane is girly minimalism so is the baby a colorful minimalist brand or a girly print brand?
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita uiiii, she answered :-) what a pleasure. I'd say it is a colorful, happy minimalist
@@bjulalula9537 how about Benetton
