Watched this over a thousand times and can still name everyone like they were family. The David Robinson dunk is so perfect with memories Reggie Williams, Kevin Gamble, Dean Garrett ect for making this one of the best tournaments of memory!
@Gravida12 Agreed, Golden Street was the perfect prelude to OSM... I wish they would still play this original version by the composer David Barrett but at least they went back to the Vandross version after last year's debacle with J. Hudson!!!
This song will always be played after the championsip game in the NCAA in basketball and it don't matter who sings it. It will always be a good song to listen too when its all over.
Awesome song, has been known to bring grown men to tears in the right circumstances! No offense to the poster, my favorite version was the short-lived Teddy Pendergrass one from '95-'99...Luther was second to me. Everybody seems to have their favorite version I guess, just like a favorite James Bond..it depends on what you grew up with. But there is something magical about the song, no matter who sings it, and they way it goes with the video montage - it is pure gold! Love it!
Posting this on the night nova beat mich for ‘18 title. The spirit of ‘87 (or ‘86 when it was actually composed) lives on! If u were born at song’s years of origination please take pride in that and brag.
TBS is scheduled to show the championship game in I believe 2016 at the latest. Naturally, I wonder if they'll keep up w/ the CBS tradition of playing OSM.
@southsidesman Not saying I would've loved it, but those kinds of things made college athletics special. Man, as I watch this, the sport really was special. I don't know if it changed when they started letting the greats leave or skip entirely (college), but whatever the case: the game is dramatically less appealing than it was.
Nobody loves the original version of “One Shining Moment” more than me but it’s sounds a bit dated. I can see why they use different versions after 1993.
Minnesota, I play ball, you play with toys, I play T.I., you get Joyce, cuz Alicia Silverstone had ways to make you crazy flown a jet own this my set like we like think you are so wack, my record company had got this shit packed up so get on back it's a how down when Steve Alford Gets so Smart lifetime, you ready, 3 month countdown throw you fingers Chris is ready Dan for downtown!!!
Wow, that piano intro tugs at your heart instantly. They should bring it back.

I think this was the very first OSM montage. I look forward to it every year so much so that I really don't care who wins, just gimme my OSM!
As a lifelong Syracuse fan, this is still a painful memory.
If it makes ya’ll feel any better, Indiana fans think the same thing about that 2013 S16 game.
Love the behind the back pass from Indiana's #32.
RIP Coach Knight!
still get chills watching this in 2020!!!!
dkg46342 ...Still the best one
Remember this like it was yesterday! Awesome!!
I believe this was actually the first year for this tribute song.
You’d be correct

Even when Ne-yo did it
Nothing better in sports period!
I love One Shining when includes this intro/♥️♥️♥️
Best verison ever.
It sounds so much better with the Golden Street prelude. Why can't they remix this in with the Luther Vandross version?
They did until 2004. In 2004, as Greg was signing off, you actually heard the final few seconds of the Golden Street prelude before Luther.
This is much better version singer wise
Pure Gold!

Jim Boehiem and Syracuse would have to wait until 2003 to gain its national championship thanks to Carmelo Anthony and Hakim Warrick (The block).
This is cool.
Notice that the original "OSM" did not have the second verse.

indiana's #44 cut that net down like it was nothing @ 0:07
My favorite version of OSM
Indeed it is...
Now I feel kind of bad for Rony Seikaly.
It took 23 years for Jim Boeheim and Syracuse to win the National Championship in 2003 with help from Carmelo Anthony and Hakim Warrick
RIP Dwayne Schintzius 1:52
And from that year on, a tradition was born
Lol at the coach's high-knees routine at 3:16
No shining moments for Indiana this year. :(

The best part is when bobby knight slammed on the table.
Where would the tournament be today without this song??
what is the name of the piano song in the begining?
Golden Street Prelude
Hey

Bobby Knight broke his own rules by getting Keith Smart from a Junior College.
UNLV beaten by its own strategy
Knight had actually recruited two JC players for the 1985-86 team. One had academic issues and the other was redshirted for the 1986-87 season.
Super Bowl XXI.
LOL, I just listened to the baywatch theme and have concluded that u r joking
Eric, tell your boy to get off the computer!
So you call the cops

The chewing of a mouth...
But what
You're scared
Indiana > Syracuse
this was the only time Indiana has ever beaten Syracuse. Syracuse holds a 6-1 record over Indiana for all-time play.
@@richardcarrier9536 but the 1 is loss is when it counted the most
