I never thought of steaming it. I've always just built a fire in the propane tank itself

I have been watching several of your videos and I must say that above all I like your safety procedures! I am a service technician for a major propane company nationwide and I repair propane tanks in my office and in the field....when we have bad tanks we bring them in the yard and sell them to the public.... I always encourage them to be safe when they remove valves and cut the tanks..... I would like to compare notes with you on some of the things to prepare tanks for pits!!!!! Keep the videos coming in enjoy them!

Almost done with my build. So I can just do this the first time with water? No need to have the inside rust knocked of with sandblaster first fo around? This seems way easier. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!!

I’m assuming you take care of the racks the same way. What about every day clean up and clean out?

    Hi
Im building a 500 gallon smoker.
Im thinking of having ceramics/bricks in the actual firebox wall/bottoms. What do you think about that? There will be a airchannel to the bottom of the fire bed. So it will be easy to start up.

I lined my firebox twenty four square with the bricks half way up, if weight isn't an issue they really work keeping the heat in.

I was thinking about getting a primitive pit, but I’m not for sure now that I’m looking at yours, how does yours compare to the primitive 500 in your honest opinion

I didn't realize cutting out even just part of that band on the inside was ok to do.
