Back in 2019 I was driving from New York to Texas and decided to spend the night in Baltimore since it was already 2am. So I GPS a motel 6 and it brings me right through the rough part of Baltimore. I have seen many poor neighborhoods in the country but this struck me seeing many homes that were half boarded up in one unit while the other one was still occupied. Just an overall vibe of a tough life there and neglect due to poverty and low income and you can imagine the high crime that occurs. I arrived to my motel and of course you had to speak to the clerk through a tiny window and they wanted a $75 deposit. I was about to get the room but then started having second thoughts about the room probably being dirty with bugs in it and perhaps my car being vandalized or gone in the morning. So I changed my mind and went to another Motel 6 in a cleaner part of town that didn't require a deposit and was actually $10 cheaper for the room. And not to talk bad about the people of Baltimore,I'm sure there are a lot of good folks there but it was really something to feel the energy and vibe of those streets.
Thank you for being able to separate the people from the systemic problem. The majority of people are good people, just like anywhere else. All it takes is a small percentage of people to stir shit up and make the whole thing look really bad. That small percentage of people exists everywhere. Baltimore just has physical factors that make it harder to control than other places.
@@steventhehistorianIs there a looney bin in West Baltimore? Why are there so many psychopaths situated in this part of town? Is half of the population deaf there? Why are there so many women always shouting and screaming at 120 decibels? And gawddam butt ugly!
