The We Are Memory Keepers brand foil tool works with the older models. I haven't used it personally, but I have seen others have success with it.

The foil pen that has the power cable attached should work with older models by Memory Makers. They were the first version that came out before these and the newer machines (4 & 5’s).

I have the older models as well as the new, I use the wamk foil pens, and it is a lot easier than the new set ups..
